  • Saltfish choka recipe straight from my mother in law’s recipe, I use to live when she cook this and I just had to make some for dinner, this is another saltfish recipe that you need in your dinner table.     Here are the ingredients used:
    1 lbs saltfish
    3/4 cup of finely chopped:
    Scallion, scotch bonnet pepper & red bell pepper
    1/4 cup of chopped onions
    You can add black pepper if you like
    Vegetable oil

    Yes my dear you are so right, Jamaica does have indians as other islands I myself have relatives on both sides of my family and I can tell you about those big roti they make every morning and choka and all those Indian dishes of the other islands as for curry every single day I can eat it and not get tired of it because I got accustomed to having it daily when I stayed with my indian relatives! So Jamaicans are no strangers to the Indian culture and cuisine! Have a great one and enjoy 😊❤🎉🎉

    Why is your dhal looked brown? Like brown beef gravy. Did you used a different keep of split peas? I'm just curious

    We. Concur on that. I cannot tolerate raw. Onions. I can cook with lots of onions I just can't eat it. If I see it in my food I pick it out. Yuck 😩
