People often write love notes on padlocks, then they lock them to a structure (the fencing of a bridge usually) and they throw the key over the edge. It's supposed to be a romantic gesture.

Any thoughts on Boundary Breaking Rain World Downpour? It will be spoiler-filled of course, but there could be so much players never see.
The game seems to use 3d that is disguised incredibly well into 2d, and even the shadows from the lighting can bend across foreground and background objects like pipes, which is a massive indicator of 3d depth.
Not to mention how even Lizards' spines rotate around them as they turn, which smells of a 3d model.
That game is already full of details, but there could be so much to learn with boundary breaking it.

@@RGC_animationI mean, you DO find it attached to a gate in the engulfed castle. Though why something so symbolic is found THERE of all places is just as questionable.
@@RGC_animation I've started to suspect that no one on PNF died. Like, if we were to assume everyone died, they'd have been dead at least by Pikmin 1 and yet Hero's Hideaway is pristine and clean.
The Waterwraith gave me an idea though. What if Pikmin is in a sort of alternate dimension to normal Earth? We see SOME things that also show up in our normal world, but not ALL things. It could even be that Pikmin and the space people are where our myths and legends about little people come from and the source of a lot of lost objects. Just an idea.
12:51 fun fact: This isn't actually depressing. It's a wedding lock! To symbolize a pairings undying love, people will get either a keyless lock (or get a regular one and destroy the key) and sometime even weld it shut, then write something representing their love. Its supposed to be representative of their love being unbreakable as the lock they used to represent their love cannot be unlocked anymore.
It's done by 16 year olds who think their high school love is going to last forever, it never lasts

Now look up that one Russian guy who breaks every lock in existence for fun and leisure. A worthwhile lesson: everything can break with time and the right stimuli. Thinking anything will last forever without reckless sheltering is foolhardy.
There's another NPC named Santi that you rescue who has the same glasses as Russ and there's a point where they become comically crooked when talking to him and you can see his eyes for a moment!
You can see Russ's eyes during one point too in his portrait, I think it's when you show him the leaflings

The maps in the aquarium are actually maps of various aquarium sublevels in the game. There’s even an older version of a Sage Trials story there

Funny thing about the sink water at 7:20 is I fell off the counter and the camera changed into the "underwater camera" for a brief second. I guess I somehow clipped into the water even though it drained

The squished Oatchi is visible during normal play under normal conditions, when you send him into a dirt mound you can see his silhouette just like any other time he’s behind geometry, and it clearly flattens and disappears. Really cool to see it up close!
I would've loved to have seen if the Survey Drone has a model when it's being used, and if you could've pulled the camera away from it.

I love that you guys took the time to look at a ripped model. Some game models are impossible to get a closer look at because some games cull objects out the closer you zoom in. Not just that but designers love hiding details in the texture files too. Details that can only be seen when the texture is a plain image not wrapping on a model.

In the Hero’s Hideaway, I wonder who the hero was. It looks like the hero was about to go on a trip due to the bags by the door. It looks like there was some kinda struggle by the books and things scattered around . Looks like they didn’t get to leave the way they wanted. The kitchen wasn’t even clean. 😮😊
Huh, I didn't realize there are two different houses we see in Pikmin 4. But now that I look, they are distinguished by red and blue roofing tiles. I wonder where they would be in position to one another on the world map.

Just a great episode all around, with tons of discoveries, insight, a memorable and beloved guest, and honestly? Because of how many episodes I've watched I'm starting to see roundabout connections to how I draw art, which is *because* of how I've changed up my layering through watching all these Boundary Breaks.
I guess it's a weird thing to relate to but it's getting me excited to get back to playing the game and seeing how these look in practice.
A pretty niche suggestion because it is a lesser known indie game, but it's related to this video: a Boundary Break on Tinykin. It can be described as as a Pikmin-like platformer that plays entirely within a house. So it's like the Hero's Hideout stage of Pikmin 4, but with more and expansive rooms. I dunno if Arlo played Tinykin but I'm sure he'd enjoy it!

This was really really really what I needed right now. The intro for some reason was unbelievably relaxing for me. Never seen anything about Pikmin 4 so I don’t spoil me but when I saw Arlo in the thumbnail it already felt so nostalgic like stumbling upon something you wanna watch on tv without any effort as a kid and then that intro and everything after. Exactly what I needed.😊
Arlo's a lucky puppet for getting to say the thing. If i could do anything for any youtuber, it be to say the thing for Shesez.
not only is cool to have Arlo on a Pikmin episode, but is also wild how much consideration the Pikmin art team put into making the environments seem like real places that humans inhabited
I would like to know if there is a mud layer underneath the Piklopedia.
I was messing around in the Piklopedia and got onto the wall by rushing into a onion/pearly clamclamp and I managed to get Pikmin to fall out of the map however they fell into mud. I tested with blue and ice Pikmin and given that the blue Pikmin drowned like they do in mud there must be a mud layer below the Piklopedia but it is not possible to see in the normal game.
The digging animation for the Pikmin in dirt mounds is also very neat!
What about the smoky progg egg? Does the thing just sit inside the egg until it hatches or does the model spawn in when it hatches?
It was really difficult to find out due to crashing but there was nothing inside the egg

i had always assumed the house you could see from the other level was Hero's Hideaway but I guess it isn't. I just liked the idea that two of the levels were based on a house and it's yard.

I'd love to see what happens when you progress in some of the missions like Rescue the Rescue Corps. Both the officers and their space suits change based on who you find and your color settings.

I suspect he did it on purpose. I could understand mixing up Waterwraith but how could you forget Man-At-Legs? It's the best enemy name in the series.
I love the aquarium levels. So serene yet spooky. Pretty lights to display to nobody, with a distant red exit sign above a door for nobody to use, and maps on a plaque, that nobody was supposed to see

would have been neat to see what the leafling cure cutscene looked like without the fade to black, though my guess is they just instantly swap out the models for the actual castaways during the transition.
I actually found that inside the Bulblax you can see the rocks around him when he gets up are put inside his model and shrunk just enough you wont see them
