For me the normal iphone 14 is OK because I am a normal user. To be honest the 70% of the iphone users don't really need the extras futures of the iphone pro/ pro max at the end of the day. So the normal iphone 14 / 14 plus is a decent choice for the majority of users.
These are the two leading contenders for me. I tend to want the Pro but not thrilled with the color choices and really like that blue on the standard model. I'm coming from a 2016 model Samsung phone.

Got the 14 pro max just over a month ago and I love it! My last phone/s were Samsung s10&iphone 8 plus (I used both) so it’s a pretty big leap! Imo I prefer the dynamic island over a full screen phone because it’s like a little widget, it’s cute and can actually use it for music, timer & more! I’d say the only reasons you should and would want to get the 14 pro would be for the island or if you’re coming from an older model/brand otherwise the ones before like 12/13 pro, even the X’s do the same thing tbh!

Hello there Nick!!! Thank you for all of your vids!!! Very insightful, mostly Apple products. Im a Apple fan girl for life,lol!!! Well, I took the plunge, and upgraded my phone from my iPhone 12 Pro Max, to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I truly loved my 12 Pro Max and had it for a couple of years. Well, I was able to go to a different carrier, and got myself and 2 other lines for a fantastic deal and upgraded all of us to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. I didn't think at first that the upgrade would be that big of a deal. Well, it was!! Dynamic Island, OLED,Cameras, and more. I also didn't think much about the difference between 60-120htz refresh rate, but yes, there's a huge difference!! From games, to scrolling, to cameras are just fantastic!! I also got the 256G, and that makes a difference too!! I would say that it is a huge upgrade!!! I do have a complaint, but not the phone. I had a 2019 iPad, and Im enroolled in the beta software of Apple. Well, I downloaded IOS 16.4 and as soon as I did that my iPad crashed and now it doesn't work at all. I told Apple about this. If its the beta software update that causes your device to crash, and it not come back on, should Apple replace it? Do they do that? Ok, I will close. Thanx for all that you do Nick!!!

I’ve been using an IPhone 6 for the past eight years. I switched to the IPhone 14 yesterday. I noticed the 14 is much brighter and the images are clearer and sharper. Also, when I watch a video on TH-cam, for example, the sound is louder and crisper. I deleted some of the apps that came with the phone, like the Guitar app, which I won’t use. But the difference between Iphone 14 and iPhone 6 is remarkably noticeable!

I can trade in my 11 for the 14 for free or the 14 pro and pay extra $200 myself. And id rather do the pro, and recommend you do so yourself. Ur going from a 60hz screen to a 60hz, that’s bad

Best thing about regular 14 over regular 13 is its way cheaper to repair….otherwise meh.

I had the s21 ultra and the pixel 6 and I hardly ever used the high refresh rate because I rather battery life than smoothness
Just give me whichever one is lighter. 90% of stuff on an iPhone I never use I just get them because of the familiarity from having them for years and years. Compact and light and decent battery
In Europe where i live (Poland) 14 Pro is about 250-300 dollars more expensive. I was originally going to get it anyway but i had a chance to play with both Pro and Normal in my network operator store. 120 Hz is not that impressive. Actually iOS is very smooth even in 60Hz (i was comming from Oppo Reno 6 Pro that had 90 Hz screen and it was very close to Apple 60 Hz). Other than that i consider Dynamic Island unnessesery and it is IMHO even bigger than standard 14 notch (the screen area directly above the island is useless nevertheless). Also i am not a content creator so i don't really need tele-lens. Besides both main and front cameras are same quality. Imho totally not worth 300 more dollars to me. So instead of a Pro 128 GB i went with 14 256 GB and Magsafe, Case and the camera lens+screen protector (still for less than the price of 14 Pro 128 GB alone).

Hungarian here with the same problem. 300€ price difference, don't mind the 60hz, I actually prefer the notch...but coming from a Samsung I got so used to having telephoto camera I can't get rid of it. I use it almost every time I take photos, but 300€ extra for that?? Insane. Even if it will be usable for 3-4 years, I just need one feature the 14 doesn't have.
The difference between $200 is massive it feels like standard 14 is a $600 phone compare to Pro. we are paying $800 in 2022 and Apple is giving us 60hz this is unbelievable.

i got the 14 pro 512 GB deep purple.. it costed me 1900€ .. and sold my 13 pro 256 GB for 1300€
You didn’t mention that the normal 14 has replaceable rear glass , which the Pro models doesn’t have , which makes it way more expensive to repair , JerryRigEverything did mention about this , either way, I am going for the normal 14 , it appeals me more esthetically and its way lighter

If Apple is going to start reusing the same chip for a second year in a row, I just hope that their previous iPhones will be around for much longer.. I could see Apple dropping software support for both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 at the same time.

I guess from next year they will start ditching the regular phones and keep the more expensive ones for one more year. For example, IOS 17 is going to be supported by iphone X but not from 8 and 8 plus. And IOS 18 is going to be supported by iphone XS but not from X and XR

For games I have desktop 300Hz monitor, for photos Sony A7C. iPhone 14 is perfect choise.

I have both phones. The pro is very heavy and a bit thicker and larger but not by much. The pro, I like the island feature but the 14 does not have it. I wish the iPhone 14 pro had the island, but I think I may go back to the 14. The size and weight is too much for me.

I just got my 14 pro max and it doesn't seem as fluid to me as the 12 pro max like the camera feels glitchy when switching lenses. Ima wait for the next update but ew I'm not impressed with it at all right now. only reason I can see keeping it is for the 1tb space my 12 pro max was doin amazing.

They are not the same . 14 has bigger 5 g antenna for better reception, newer modem for faster download speeds , better cameras, and internal designs are different . Cheaper repairs on the 14 . I upgraded from iPhone 11 running ios 16 to a 14 pro . Ios experience on the phones are the same maybe that is what your experiencing but the phones are different .

Keep the 13 Pro max another year!! I came from a standard 13, to a 14 Pro now I have $1000 I need to pay off at $36 a month “not bad” with Affirm but still I couldn’t tell the difference that much except for the dynamic island which takes up a lot of your screen.

You got a point there but keep in mind that the Pro Max is $300 more for the same size. That is a substantial price increase to the Plus.

As a 240 hz monitor user I think that 60 hz is quite smooth just for doing simple tasks like messaging and checking the weather. But for gaming which I use my phone to do a lot of it is just not suited for my needs. I need 120 hz 🤓

Sorry for saying it but what Apple did with iPhone 14 is just iPhone 13 for higher price. Reviewers are too nice towards Apple.
