Thank you so much Dr. Berg for letting me share my story & hopefully save the former me's out there watching. You are giving a voice to the voiceless. There are millions of young people in the world silently suffering without much long-term direction other than avoidance & further dissociation with their low back. 5 years ago, I thought I was the only one. This video would've broken me down to tears to find back then. My early 20's became an isolated & desperate search for any real clues to get my life back. So to have this conversation with you is a full circle moment that is hard to believe. I believe we can slow the growing statistics of chronic back problems in the years to come, with the help of authentic leaders like yourself. I may not have ALL the answers to this back epidemic, but I believe we leading people to start asking the right questions...which is where all meaningful progress begins. It's my hope that this video will inspire someone to break the loop of fear and commit to a long game of slow but steady low-back rebuilding. It's not easy but it IS possible. I'm rooting for everyone here on their healing journey. Please keep going. Brendan
@@cathwalsh9921You'd be surprised to learn that inflammation of the muscle a lot of times comes from eating junk food not just doing exercise intensively or in a wrong position, that's a fact that Dr berg himself talk about in his videos.
@cathwalsh9921 you can't possibly be serious? The only way you develop a back problem in the first place is by having a diet poor enough to not be able to regrow repair and maintain cartilage joints ligaments and tendons. If you're eating a diet tell us fast food in it you're going to have back problems. It doesn't matter what you do or how active you are you're still going to have back problems. Do you know anything at all about nutrition?
This makes a lot of sense! A back surgeon that left the field because he says surgery may not be the answer has a TH-cam channel Goobie and Doobie. He says you can heal your back many times better than a back surgery can. His videos are mostly introspective but he has a few dedicated to the advice he would give his patients who would listen. He noticed they healed on their own. He quit his neurosurgery position after 10 yrs because he said many patients did not improve with surgery but the hospitals have incentive for more surgery.
The other issue with why patients backs may not heal after surgery, is that many patients don't follow doctors orders. Many patients also assume that because they had the surgery that they'll be fine and they go back to the lifestyle and everything they were doing prior to surgery, at least they try to anyways. Many patients tend to be lazy, wanting a quick fix, and are not willing to put in the work. Any injury or issue with the body that surrounds nerves and muscles take time to heal, but with the right follow up and exercises. Of course I'm not saying the supplies to everybody who doesn't have a positive outcome from back surgery, but more of a general statement. Regardless, back surgery doesn't work out for a lot of people in general because it can be hit or miss.
@kzigmant I agree. Unfortunately, I had a surgery c3-c7 at age 30. Due to past injuries. I was a cheerleader, gymnast, and skydiver. They believe it compiled over time, and one wrong movement caused the rupture. I now have lower back pain. But not because I'm lazy, nor because I didn't change lifestyle, nor because I didn't follow doctors orders. When you parts of the spine with no give, no movement it tends to put pressure on the remaining joints of the spine. There are people out there who do everything right and this still happens to.
Where do you find this machine? Do all gyms have them? What can I do without a machine? Does your advice apply to those with scoliosis? And what about those who cannot afford a gym membership?

I’ll vouch for this. Stretching is NOT what you need. You need to STRENGTHEN your lower back and your pain will subside and the weakness of injury will start to go away
23:56 OMG this guy is such a beautiful soul to say that. If he is listening I want to thank him for this and I'm 57 and this will save my life and I'm sure many more.
Had the exact thing as Brendan-in BOTH hips and chronic pain in 70% of my body. Took 10 years of my life, 3 years to find the injury, 7 years to recover the rest of the body because of how terribly un-holistic our “healthcare” functions ❤
@@observationsofenoch6222 do to damage or to heal..? I think it all started with a damaged tailbone.. ended with 2 cam impingement, surgeries, 50 different therapies until something worked and corrected most of the built up imbalances
Same. I have been dealing with a second reoccurrence for 2 years now - after another 2 year stint in my 20s - and I’m currently suicidal and have lost my job and everything bc of my back pain.
Yes, thars the problem. A 30 min physio appointment or 15 minute Dr. appointment is not enough time to communicate a complicated problem. That's why longer videos on TH-cam are so valuable.
It is very telling about a person who struggled with chronic pain and is now helping others without using a paywall to get your life back! Thank you Brendon for being a compassionate soul ❤
I was also told to have lower back surgery after an accident with 50 percent chance to work. I am a rehab RN and know better. Started doing Qi Gong, Taiji Quan, light Weight training, acupuncture with a genuine Chinese MD. After 14 years, I got my black belt in Kung Fu and teach internal MA Do not give in our give up
Gotta be honest.. I saw how long this video was and almost skipped it. But Dr Berg doesn’t waste my time! The decompression example was my AHA moment. Good guy. I will look for his program. Thanks AGAIN Dr Berg.
This information is priceless. That’s exactly what is happening to me. I even had to stop a year and a half going to the gym because I am afraid to hurt myself again. It takes a lot of commitment and time to heal. Thank you so much for your help.
Brendan is the real deal. Been following his program for nearly a year. The biggest thing he preaches is the long game. It takes a lot of patience and consistency to remodel a back that is quick to spasm and over-protect itself.
Thank you Dr. Berg for sharing Brendan Backstrom's story of healing and strengthening the lower back. Key knowledge in keeping our lower back, pain free while keeping our spine and pelvic areas in alignment and functioning properly. I enjoy learning from truthful and trusting persons, such as yourselves. Thank you also to Brendan Backstrom. God bless your hearts
Thankyou Dr Berg and Brendon the timing of this video is perfect for me. I was in the gym last week doing a class and felt a tweak in my lower back I pushed through the class and was in lower back pain for a week only feeling better today. This is so helpful to me, I thought I’m fit I shouldn’t have any pain. This makes so much sense to me now . Brendon’s explanation is so clear he’s a good person for sharing it and not expecting a dollar return.
I was diagnosed with multiple herniated discs in my mid-twenties. The orthopedic docs recommended surgery, which I didn't want to do since my aunt had it and she still had pain. My brother was in Chiropractic school and urged me to seek Chiropractic treatments. I started the treatments which helped, but I didn't want to be dependent on adjustments my whole life. One of my Chiropractors told me the I had to strengthen my back muscles to avoid having recurring back pain. I started doing low impact aerobics and after months transitioned to cardio kickboxing (only air with no impact). I also did weight training with small dumbbells for upper body and no more than 50lbs for my lower body. In my mid-30s, I was the queen of aerobics and my back problems were only occasional flare ups (only if I did multiple aerobic sessions back-to-back). I have been advocating non- surgical healing of the body because it truly works!!!
I would love to get Brendan's take on the 'Superman' exercise for those who don’t have equipment at home. You lie face down on the ground with your arms extended in front of you, and then you lift your arms and legs off the ground simultaneously. It really targets your lower back, glutes, and shoulders. This exercise is a part of my workout program, and it has helped improve my posture and prevent injuries. It’s especially beneficial for those who sit at a desk all day.
I found a 10 minute exercise set here on YT that incorporates Superman and similar exercises that target the lower back. I try to do it at least once a week, hopefully twice, and it has helped a lot. If anyone reading this wants to try the workout, type in "Emi Wong Sexy Back". I've also added plank and plank-based exercises that strengthen the core. It all helps.
I can testify for Brandon! Ive been following his workouts for two months and im stronger than ever now. My hips and lowback are finally pain free and im gaining strength since my deadlift injury two years ago
I'm so glad to see Brendan getting exposure, his program has really helped me to understand my injured back. His workout ideas have helped me build not only my back but every muscle group through strength and mobility. Thank you Dr. Berg, more people need to meet Brendan. ❤️
I am 42..and have low back pain for more than 15 years...I stumble upon a video on dead hang ....started doing dead hang for 2 weeks and I promise my back pain is gone....
I hv been doing Brendan’s routine for a few weeks now and it has produced amazing results, I’m so glad you did this interview with him so that everyone can see his point of view. Thank you 🙏🏼
This video is a game changer. He’s talking about things that a started to figure out in the past year but didn’t know were actually a thing. Now I just got steered in the right direction with a more understanding mind. Discovered my slip disk when I was only 12 years old. Doctor was clear, avoid any heavy lifting or twisting activities. Which I refused to follow. Then went on using weird techniques to counter the pain and by doing that caused massive problems everywhere else in my body. I’m now 40, the past 5 years of my life have been THE FRAWKING WORST!!!…. This past year I made a lots of change in my way of seeing my injuries…and now this video… I think I might finally get out of this madness once and for all. THANK YOU!! 🙏
This is amaaazing! I'm 70, gave natural birth 6 times, raised 6 boys, had a dairy farm, been very active my entire life, but oh, my back!! I've tried all the mainstream and not so mainstream exercises and managed to stay relatively mobile. I am going to do this for sure🎉
This video is great timing. I've had sporadic lower back problems for many years. About once a year or 2 years, I do something that sends my back into spasms. My doctor has given me good information on strengthening my core. But then, over time, I don't do the exercises anymore, and it happens again. This last time it happened at work, the difference is this time, I'm going to PT. I'm hoping what they have me do is similar to what you recommend. I saved this video to watch again and to remind me of what I need to do. I'm hoping I finally learn and learn my lesson and don't go through the same agony again
Your story sounds like mine. Turns out I was inflamed because of grains. I stopped eating them and the pain and tightness went away in 3 DAYS!! Just wanted to pass this along. 10 years, back thrown out 12 plus times, 3 ambulance rides, 2 MRI’s, numerous X-rays, adjustments, PT, massages, etc. Nothing showed on the X-rays or MRI so I looked like a liar. I feel 20 years younger now.
This video me cried. I got hit by a car and my concussion. TBI was so bad that I was out for several months. My muscles and fascia became glue together. Going from highly active to very sanitary wasn’t any help, but knowing this information has greatly helped.
I also had a tbi when i was in my 30s. When i was 58, i met a korean woman. She started massaging not my muscles but she massages my nerves and separated my fascia from muscle. So... i do know your pain physicallyand mentally. God bless and good luck. PS it seems your phone might have taken over. You probably meant sedentary not sanitary.
Brendan Backstrom discusses his program for strengthening the lower back to eliminate chronic pain. He emphasizes gradual, safe exercises to rebuild back strength, challenging the conventional approach of only protecting an injured back.
Thank you Dr Berg for this video. This young man seems sincere and very informative. Not to mention comes across as very smart too. I can tell by his use of wording.
As a retired vet tech of course I injured my lower back with the bend and twist lifting a 50lb dog, the ONLY person that has ever helped me was my chiropractor, went to my doctor a few weeks later for an unrelated thing and mentioned it to her, she almost blew a gasket, the hatred for chiros was palpable, whatever, I trust my chiro more than her! She ordered x-rays and when the results came back she said it was osteoarthritis, got the x-rays sent to my chiro and he said there was absolutely no arthritis at all, he said it was a disk injury which is true, I was in my early 40's. I had a horse during that time of my life and rode almost 6 days a week, my core was strong, never had a re-injury until I stopped riding and started gardening and had to see my chiro multiple times in the summer, my chiro said I was over doing it, he was correct, but he made me feel better quickly every time. I love my chiropractor, I would honestly be an immobile vegetable on my couch if it wasn't for him.
This exercise dispels the "no pain, no gain" mindset that many of us have lived by. Your vids have provided great pointers for those of us who have abused ourselves over the years. Thanks again! The results speak for themselves.
Often thought about it and now I ordered that machine for hyperextensions. Went the same road he described and did a lot of core-workout but mostly avoided to let that lower back work. I'm 35 and in pain for nearly 10years now. Keep that fingers crossed for me and all the other sufferers.
I found his info fascinating - and made so much sense to me. I had L4-5 injury post MVA at age 31. I went through therapy, injections, tried every pain reliever (oral, topical) and finally surgery (micro diskectomy) Still left with chronic pain. Now 35 years later I finally learn something that I can do starting today. Had it been known before, quality of life would’ve been different. I was not inactive - worked full time, had kids, exercised etc but that pain was always there. I’m willing to try it. 😃
Great content. Lower back pain and related issues impact a huge amount of people around the world. It is very important to be aware of a set of exercises that can help us to build back muscle capacity. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Im 28 and a heavy duty mechanic. Recently in the last 3 weeks my back has gone down hill quickly. You have brought a smile to my face and damn near made me cry! It helps greatly seeing someone close to my age who has had theses issues them selves. Thank you again:)
I crushed, fractured, cracked several vertebrae in my lower back at 24 years old in 1981. Given the choice of a spinal fusion or 9 months in a full body cast. I took the cast. Armpits to knees, a broom stick between knees in plaster. Another cast from the L. Knee down for my compound fractured leg and pins in my foot. The surgeons did a pretty good job. They said I broke most of the bones in the foot. Those were the days! Now I take zero scripts and my young surgeon showed me my MRI's CT scans and X-RAY's in order to prove to me that I actually need 5 vertebrae in my cervical spine fused and shaving bones and adding hardware. I am a little nervous. My feet and legs have been numb since April. He said if I don't have surgery I can end up paralyzed. I believe him now. When he tested my strength by shaking hands, he said ouch, don't do that? I think he learned what beef butter bacon and eggs for a couple years did for this former 354 pound gray haired crippled old man.😊
I'm loving this format, it extents the self help that you already promote up onto another level, so more of this please. It is also good to see someone on the internet not out to get rich, but with a genuine ambition to help people, thank you Brendan 👍🏼
Only 2 mins in, so i just want to say im 57 & do a physical job. Ive been doing yoga 9 months & sometimes feel 10 years younger. Even in the morning after sleeping i may have aches & an asian yoga teacher even says thats normal so do these stretches & i have & feel great. I rarely hurt myself lifting of whatever the chore , if i do, ive done specific yoga stretches for that & yes, it works.
Wow!!! I can't believe you had this young man on here!! Exactly what I need. I have been living with low back pain almost my entire life (fell off the top of a slide in 2nd grade) I'm 58. I have learned to adapt to my chronic issues. But I know that it has affected so many other things --I have decided to start working out again, and here is where I will start . I always stopped because of the pain.Thank you, thank you both!
@@DrbergSo what is front-of-leg nerve pain (I have 2 herniated discs at L4 from 2017 and L5-S1, 2023)? Only found Brendan last night. Going to follow his protocol after 7 years of agony and related borderline depression. "Playing the long game" in 2025.
Great video. Thank you. What caught my attention was the picture of childs pose and caption "Dont do this". Im a yoga teacher for 30 years and my low back has always been my weak link. I found yoga to be a powerful practice for total body strength, awareness and flexibility. I did find that poses like "superman" or locus (laying prone on floor / belly and lifting upper and lower body, breathing and releasing) to be very healing. I always encourage students to listen to their body, don't do it if theres any pain, hold briefly and release, etc. Sometimes ill guide students to just lift one arm and one leg on opposite side at a time. Sometimes just upper body, and or lower body etc. But generally always include childs pose like your thumbnail picture. I didn't hear it addressed?
Child pose is fine, but model in thumbnail has her back rounded. That's usually a no-no. You're generally told to keep your back as straight as possible.
I came to listen to this guidance for exactly the same reason. This yoga pose is extremely relaxing and healing. It relieves the stress in my lower back.
Dear Dr Berg, I have watched you for a few years and I have had a bad back for years. I just happened a few months ago had looked into that Freak Athlete machine. Then I saw your video interview today and really appreciate your depth in truly helping people. I’m a member at a health club in Scottsdale Az and have referred you to many of my friends. Sincerely, Al
I will be 69 years old and have had back issues for about forty years. Went to the Good feet store 3 1/2 years ago because I have flat feet. I have not had one issue with my back since going there and getting my arch supports. I do back stretches every day and walk 4.5 miles 5 days a week. I have never felt better with my back. Hopefully it continues.
@ It depends on what you get. You can spend $1200 on the 3-Step system which includes the strengtheners ,maintainers and the relaxers arch supports or you can buy just one. They do not pressure you at all. It helped me and it was worth every penny.
My kiddo has been struggling with low back pain for sometime The universe provides another amazing Dr. Berg video. Stay the path Brenden you a real one
I was a teenage competetive powerlifter in the mid-80's and developed a lower-back issue. I went to a chiropractor starting four days a week. He gave me exercises to do every day. I'm now 60 years old and spent most of my life with no back pain. Very thankful for that specific chiropractor.
Thank you dr berg for this video most people don’t understand how sensitive a person back can be sometimes I think if a person pushes me I might not be able to walk anymore this video is everything your channel is everything
I recently had my 4th baby and he had shoulder dystocia during birth. It really messed up my lower back and I've been having sciatica spasms and a dull ache ever since. I've never had back issues before this. I need to start this program
I am 62 now and these kind of exercises have been very helpful for me. I do something for these muscles daily and I thank God for the range of motion and strength that I still have
I'm so happy that you are touching on this subject! In my younger years, I was addicted to working out, even into my 40s. I've had lower back pain for many years now. My sciatica has given me grief a few times. It always takes 2 weeks to finally feel better so I can walk normal again. For the past 5 years, I've been working from home everyday. I tend to get up less while working from home because I become so engrossed in my work. Not to mention what I do is time sensitive and critical. So, there's not a lot of time to be able to get up and move around. With that said, I have started working out again this past month. I'm 52 now. I have been using the back extension machine and like this young man stated, there is pain from me working out my back again however, with it I'm also gaining strength back. I'm able to stand longer to perform household chores such as laundry, cleaning, ETC without my back screaming in pain like it normally would. Also, I'm able to walk for hours now again without being out of commission because of my lower back pain. I didn't hurt my back per say, it just came on with age and I'm sure sitting too long in my office chair. Now that I'm working out again, it's getting better. I'm going to continue on this journey. I'm also going to look into this young man's program. Thanks again for sharing this!! I've seen way too many people get back surgeries only to either have no affect on their condition and/or get addicted to the pain meds the doctors push. I'm not a fan of pain meds. I will always look for a healthier solution to alleviate pain.
This video came along exactly when I needed it. I have recently decided to take on my lower back problem with gusto and get it solved. The philosophy about doing specific exercises which could push you into more or less pain based on how you approach the exercise is so true! I learned this lesson on my own already and was happy to see it confirmed here. I’ll be gladly signing up for the program! Thank you so much, Dr Berg!
I just started watching Brendan recently and he makes a lot of sense and seems sincere. I have had back problems off and on since I was 26 and almost consistently since I was 52 (I am now 70). I have developed an array of methods some of which are similar to Brendan's some due to consideration and others due to happenstance over time. I look forward to more from Brendan, and thanks Dr. Berg for bringing this up.
Love the way he easily explains this simple exercise that can be very dangerous if not done properly and he was very good at taking you step by step . Most gyms have this machine .
Thanks Dr. Berg - this is a fascinating discussion and is helpful to me as well as probably 1000 other viewers this will save from inappropriate and debilitating surgeries! I love this guy - very articulate, easy to follow.
I injured my lower back in the Army, it became a recurring issue that I couldn't get help from doctors and other medical professionals, I ended up on a self taught movement to fix an issue. Turns out it was Powerlifting to build my core strength along with a good stretching regiment to protect it. Turned out being my leg muscles also not balancing out without self maintenance through stretching. Also developed an issue with my back ribs getting out of adjustment. That grew into frozen shoulder conditions. Moving forward to today. It all boiled down to self maintenance with proper stretching, hydration and diet.
Thank you Dr Berg and Brendan for this information. Like you both I also had a back injury. I Iove back extensions and now can do it with a 45 plate. I started with nothing. Slow and steady progress ends up creating life changing results 👏

The thumbnail picture got me interested in this video plus the title STOP Doing THIS... but I didn't see anything explaining why not to do what the photo showed. Maybe I just missed it and you pointed it out in a different way. The video is really good, though, and I love all the information given. Brendan's back strength is incredible. Wow.
Best lower back protocol I’ve seen. I quit mentioning my occasional lower back pain to my physician because he simply blamed my spinal stenosis for any and all discomfort. Intuitively, I knew there was more to it, because I simply don’t have pain all the time, but certain movements did seem to initiate pain or make it worse. Thanks for your advice. Because of the stenosis, I may have limitations but I do now think I can strengthen my back muscles, despite that.
This rehab progression works for every injury, you must progress slowly without pain. Unfortunately most people are in a hurry or don't understand the process, because it's not explained correctly.
I had a herniated lower back disk that would also press on my sciatic nerve. Went to pt until they told me I hit a wall on how much I could do. My sciatic pain was chronic for a year and felt it all the way down my leg to my ankle. I didn’t give up and rehabbing my core strength was key as well as walking. Gradually working to walking further and gradually also lifting heavier. After a few months I started feeling better and my pain kept going back to its initial starting point. I now advanced to weighted walking which I love. I agree so much with this interview. Good stuff Dr. Berg!
I was a gymnast as a child and never had any trouble with my back until I started working as a Typist. Flew 2000 miles last week and was almost crippled for 4 days but I kept walking. Things got a lot better after applying heat. Now when I go to the gym, I am going to look at that Bench Press equipment much more differently. Spreading the word to my kids!
This guy Brendan (low back ability) literally saved my back / life. One of the best humans I’ve ever had the chance to meet virtually. I’ve gone through his program early and I still do what he teaches every day.
Personal accountability is key to this and many other exercises working. Likewise, personal accountability is important after getting surgery. Many patients want to just depend upon the doctor or whomever else gave them advice, whether good or bad advice. Many patients just don't take personal accountability for the recovery or for whatever's happened to them. Once you take personal accountability, and start to take action, your physical and overall health and well-being get much better. Yes, it takes time, but it's well worth it. This video is very very good. I've been exploring things to do over the years so I can avoid back surgery myself. I do some exercising, and I also use a TENS unit for pain management. I don't believe in today's pain management doctors, because most just prescribe you a pill or they just give you a piece of paper and send you home. This video is very informative and helps me continue my journey of self-accountability and advocacy of my own health.
I am currently going through a similar thing as Brendan. I have 4 bulging discs, one is pressing on a nerve. I don’t have back pain, but I have hip pain and leg pain. My left foot and 3 toes are tingly and slightly numb. My hips are not balanced and I get a clicking feeling in my hip/SI joint when I walk. Definitely checking out Brendan’s program.
Heart of a warrior and curiosity of a child. Brendan is as real as it comes. Glad to see this true epidemic getting the honest coverage it deserves. Thank you Dr.Berg & Brendan for this great discussion!

This young man save me from spine surgery ! Best advice ever ! Low back ability is BEST !!!
Appreciate the support!🙏
I have been following brendan for a few months now and i gotta say my back has improved incredibly , im super happy i found him
Appreciate the support bro!
23:56 OMG this guy is such a beautiful soul to say that. If he is listening I want to thank him for this and I'm 57 and this will save my life and I'm sure many more.
thank you my friend. I'm rooting for you
Had the exact thing as Brendan-in BOTH hips and chronic pain in 70% of my body. Took 10 years of my life, 3 years to find the injury, 7 years to recover the rest of the body because of how terribly un-holistic our “healthcare” functions ❤
What did you do?
After 14 years, I got my black belt in Kung Fu and teach internal MA
Do not give in our give up
I have L4 and a couple other bulging disc but I also have an aortic and an aortic aneurysm can I try any of these things
Gotta be honest.. I saw how long this video was and almost skipped it. But Dr Berg doesn’t waste my time! The decompression example was my AHA moment. Good guy. I will look for his program. Thanks AGAIN Dr Berg.
Change the video speed. 👍
I did @ 1.75 felt like normal.
I recommend the PLANK..the whole core front and back is in use...it works..no movement but all muscles working..
It's not enough to fix a hurting lower back.
To God be the glory. This was such a heartfelt video. That young man will always be blessed because of how he gives to the community. ❤
Thank you my friend 🙏
That, crunches ,set ups, And that little wheel For the Superman workout.
Yes it will help.
Stuart McGill says to absolutely not do the superman if you have back pain.
ive been doing this excercise and it helps alot but feel this machine targets many more areas. found a used model for a lot less.
I can testify for Brandon! Ive been following his workouts for two months and im stronger than ever now. My hips and lowback are finally pain free and im gaining strength since my deadlift injury two years ago
🙏🙏🙏
I'm so glad to see Brendan getting exposure, his program has really helped me to understand my injured back. His workout ideas have helped me build not only my back but every muscle group through strength and mobility. Thank you Dr. Berg, more people need to meet Brendan. ❤️
Thank you 🙏❤️
I am 42..and have low back pain for more than 15 years...I stumble upon a video on dead hang ....started doing dead hang for 2 weeks and I promise my back pain is gone....
Go watch Brendan's vid on why deadhang may not be enough for everyone
Dead hangs have definitely helped me out.
@@MarkDifazzio it definitely helped me
@sashakta In the end, that is what matters, we find some way to move on.
How often do you do them?
Just what I needed. In my line of work I’m constantly carrying ladders. Lower back strain comes with the job.

After i found brendan routine i driver super comfortable , i can sit down on my couch for as long as i want
Grateful for your progress🙏
This is one hell of a video, I am going to implement this immediately. Thanks for sharing, good thing I didn't skip this one.
SO grateful this video reached you. I have faith that you can get back, slowly but surely
As long as the mind works your good
I also had a tbi when i was in my 30s.
Sending you many blessings ❤❤❤
Good chiros are worth their weight in gold!!! Mine saved me a back op , since 20 years ago.
I use a back brace when lifting anything heavy. It is definitely a back saver.
Could you please share the name and make of that machine?
@@hd-xc2lz you just have to google hyperextensions and you will find it. (an ankled bank to bend over)
I found his info fascinating - and made so much sense to me.
I had problems with back and neck pain for a long time, I read the book Forbidden Secrets Against Back Pain and the pain disappeared

Really glad the video was timely, and the information helps. Get well soon. Thanks for watching!
This system works. It’s absolutely the best for healthy, strong back.
I think he learned what beef butter bacon and eggs for a couple years did for this former 354 pound gray haired crippled old man.😊
I found Brendan a few months ago. He's definitely onto something. It's no quick fix and needs time & effort, but worthwile.

This guy is on it. Core strength training is critical. Especially as you age.
Gratuity model is great.

I think sleeping on a soft mattress and sitting on poorly supported chairs cause a lot of problems too.
Click bait
Just click bait, engagement farming
Child pose is fine, but model in thumbnail has her back rounded. That's usually a no-no. You're generally told to keep your back as straight as possible.
I came to listen to this guidance for exactly the same reason. This yoga pose is extremely relaxing and healing. It relieves the stress in my lower back.
I am a retired P.T., I was also dissappointed in Dr. Bergs guest and childs pose click bait.
Awesome! Love this man's teaching and attitude!!

How much $ did that cost?
@ It depends on what you get. You can spend $1200 on the 3-Step system which includes the strengtheners ,maintainers and the relaxers arch supports or you can buy just one. They do not pressure you at all. It helped me and it was worth every penny.
that was my fathers problem. he thought it was the mattress. No its you

Thank you Dr Berg. I get a little lower back pain once in a while. This video has inspired me to take care of my back.
Thank you! I needed this!!!!!
I was a teenage competetive powerlifter in the mid-80's and developed a lower-back issue. I went to a chiropractor starting four days a week. He gave me exercises to do every day. I'm now 60 years old and spent most of my life with no back pain. Very thankful for that specific chiropractor.
Thank you so much for having that interview.

Well shared Dr. Berg.
What a terrific human being!!! Thanks dr, berg for putting him on your channel
You got this!
This is so interesting. He is so knowledgeable and to see what he can do now in the gym is very inspirational.
Definitely going to look closer at this. Pain sucks! Thanks for bringing him on.
Love the way he easily explains this simple exercise that can be very dangerous if not done properly and he was very good at taking you step by step . Most gyms have this machine .
I have the same issues this young man mentioned and I’m thankful
Dr. Berg that something can be done. Thx 🙏
This is the best video I’ve ever seen.
That's great! Do you have any pain anymore from normal movements like sitting, running, bending etc?

The thumbnail picture got me interested in this video plus the title STOP Doing THIS... but I didn't see anything explaining why not to do what the photo showed. Maybe I just missed it and you pointed it out in a different way. The video is really good, though, and I love all the information given. Brendan's back strength is incredible. Wow.
~Yes, my thoughts exactly?!!~
Probably was implying to stop just working front part of our cores?
He should have titled it "Start doing this for back pain"
Confusing title
Best lower back protocol I’ve seen. I quit mentioning my occasional lower back pain to my physician because he simply blamed my spinal stenosis for any and all discomfort. Intuitively, I knew there was more to it, because I simply don’t have pain all the time, but certain movements did seem to initiate pain or make it worse.
Thanks for your advice. Because of the stenosis, I may have limitations but I do now think I can strengthen my back muscles, despite that.
Thanks for sharing Brendon’s story.
Berg!
This guy is really sharp. He engages his lateral thinking well, or what Pascal called “intuition.”
Glute bridge, deadbug , IYWTO Raise on floor can be added. Slow and controlled reps is the key.
Thanks to both of you... inspiring and genuinely helping people...such attitude makes a better and more positive and healthy world.
Spreading the word
to my kids!

Compliments of the season doctor🎉
