Last year I got my 17 conquest bfs upgraded with a Roro spool. It outcasts the new aldbaran bfs. And the upgraded conquest has very low trajectory while casting, which is perfect for creeks.
I am impressed. Not by the reel, but by your willingness to not praise a "new, better" Shimano to the skies. Thanks for a much more thoughtful, objective and useful Shimano review than is typical on your channel.
@@THEREELTEST I do apologize if I used an inappropriate word. Owned 17 cqbfs and 22 Aldebaran. I am still happy with my 17 cq and sold the 22 for a silver creek.
Honestly everyone has preferences when it comes to reel. Everyone has an opinion about which one is better. At the end of the day, the person who uses the reel matters about how the reel feels to them. No one is right or wrong.
Thank you for this! I’ll try to save y’all $$$. Crank up spool tension and brakes to near max then back them down as needed. When it is “free” it is FREE. This surprised me and cost a spool full of premium flouro. It was user error but assisted by the reel’s exceptional adjustability.
one of my main bfs channels along with lure cafe that i go to for a proper reel and rod review. would love to see you do a reel review of the ifishband tendershoot and its casting capabilities along with the lurekiller trout rod or aioushi pistol grip glass rod.
Loving your vids. Reall hoping you do a video comparison of Aldebaran BFS vs SS Air TW and Gekkabijin Air TW. Ive been keeping an eye out for you doing a video including SS Air 🙏
I just bought the reel and I have the exact problem you mentioned in the video - I don’t know how to set the spool tension properly. Could anyone advise please?
I got my Conquest BFS 23 this week. I am wondering what pound test you are using on your Conquest BFS 23 and if you are using braid or mono or flouro. I spooled 10lb, 2 lb diameter mono Power Pro Superslick 8. I'm not sure if this is the perfect line for this reel. It seems the line "jumps" when casting at times. I am thinking of jumping to 15lb braid that is 4lb diameter mono. Would going up to 15lb braid be okay to use on the Conquest BFS?
Ive got a '17 scorpion dc that the yoke springs went out on it. Shimano was gonna charge me $200 to fix it. A new one is right around that price. I plan on getting a new one but i can handle replacing those springs myself if theyre attainable. Any suggestions???
Curious to see how the SS Air TW turns out. Have been living my Aldebaran BFS for small bass lures, using 7lb Fluorocarbon. Would be tempted to get a Conquest BFS even if it is same as the Aldebaran, unless the SS Air TW is crazy good...
I'm curious. Why all your videos you only use mono? Is it just a preference you have or what's your reason? I thought braid was the way since it keeps the spool the lightest.
It depends what kind of bfs fishing you are doing. If you are fishing small creeks and rivers then maximum distance takes a back seat to accuracy. If you are shore fishing a large pond or lake or wide river than maximum distance takes precedence. What kind of bfs fishing do you want to do? There is a reason you can get bfs rods from UL all the way to ML and everything in between from glass to composite to 100% graphite in everything from 4.5 feet to 7’1”. Again can’t just paint with a broad brush and generalize certain dynamics. It’s nuanced. Not so simple as “distance is king.”
Not religious here but if you don't respect the guy's beliefs don't watch his video. It's literally like 5 seconds at the beginning, you could even skip it if you're brave enough.

what's your model of the roro spool? does it really cast further? and can it cast 1 g lures? thanks in advance
Once again, great video, beautiful gear. But most importantly, keep Praising God!😊

cuz it is truth. 23 cqbfs is no better than 17. So as 22 Aldebaran compare to 16. The new ftb system is unstable.
Ive been doing the same reviews since day one, and whether you are impressed or not is irrelevant
@jakew1309 did you see any instability in this video?

Thanks for comparing the casting thoughts. Looks great! Nice drag sound solid but not annoying!

I may do a video on how to set up these new Shimano BFS reels

Love your intro "quote".
The new reel looks to be casting monster!!
It is...
please do a review on the new kastking mg12. I'm so anxious to see your thoughts about it
This year I will be investing in my most expensive reel, a BFS high quality one. I was wondering if you purchased one BFS what would it be?
I just bought the reel and I have the exact problem you mentioned in the video - I don’t know how to set the spool tension properly. Could anyone advise please?
Looking for a rod with very long casting distance, small spoons and crankbaits 3-9g, which reel would you recommend?
Can I expect longer distance than 22 aldebaran bfs
How much line do use on this ? Approx

For Power Pro, 15lb braid would be too thick for this reel. Seagur Seabass and YGK Upgrade 15lb would be better choices.
Can you do a review on the bone voyage ul bfs
I dont even know what that is
I got the L rod, it's amazing
Can it long cast for 9 gram lures ?

200$?! The yoke springs are like 3$ a piece..
Look at your schematic and find the part number (BNT....) , than just google it,order... Ez pz

Me too.
I doubt the SS Air will be better than the Aldebaran, but we will find out :)
love it!
I'm looking for a baitcaster for light lures. I'm thinking 10 grams and downwards. Any recommendations?
SLX MGL
@@THEREELTEST What about slx dc 70 xt? Is that worth the money?
@@THEREELTEST or if I'll be more specific. A dc reel that's the best for light lures :)

to save money. no need to waste primo fluoro on cast videos.
EPIC REEL BUD, BUT NO ONE HAS STOCK.
Got my 17 paired with a NRX+ JWR 802C ... ineffable.
$1000 bass fishing BFS combo
I just ordered a CalCon BFS and was thinking of getting that same rod. Is the rod too soft for 4" wacky worms?
@@slickdaddy8408 Nope.
4" Senkos are precisely what I got it for.
Right now I've got a 2.5" Yamatanuki on it.

Kang the Conquest
Do a casting distance on all shimano bfs
Sorry to say but maximum cast distance is irrelevant in bfs fishing.
@makeorwellfictionagain3553 you are a fool if you think that
