I See Stars is one of the few bands I've seen that get significantly better as the years go by. Props to these guys, they're doing it right.
Not hating, but I'm going to miss their heavy side. New Demons was them perfecting their sound.
They're making due without the two members, and for that considered, it's a great album.

I agreed completely going into this album. And I continued to for the first 3-4 listens of the album. Once it started to get stuck in my head, I gradually began to realize that this is one of the best albums written IN MUSIC in the past five years. Plenty of bands can do what ISS did on New Demons. Not the case with this. This is perfection.

Ten Thousand Feet was the first ISS song I heard. I went back and listened to their older songs, and I definitely prefer their new sound, back then they sounded like a 1HW 90's rock band. Also, I don't know what it is, but I love the "way too long" part so much.
i bet if you started listening to them back then you would have still loved them. they got better and better.

Digital Renegade was some of the best work in this genere, Treehouse is them trying new things, and it worked well. They released the whole album as acoustic as well.
God, everybody only seems to remember New Demons and Digital Renegade. But what about 3D and End of the World Party? Both of those albums (especially EOTWP) were considerably more melodic and less heavy. It's not like this is the first time they've made a record like this.

I like how they finally actually have some emotion to their songs. Most of the song I've listened to in the past by them was more drops and dubstep which is good but I like how some of the songs now hit you in the feels. I like songs that have emotion to them to help people with what they're going through
Yeah, I really connect to this album more than the others. This album has a lot of re-listening value to me, versus the other ones just being a good sound to jam to, sometimes. More substance in this album.
+InLovingMemoryOfficial totally agree, the songs probably connect more to their fans this way, others may not like the taste or direction they went into but the new sound they brought to the table is showing a more positive response in my opinion.
+ThiVids their other stuff was decent because of the bass drops and their breakdowns but to me their lyrics back then could have been better. In my opinion, if they mix this new sound with their old bass and breakdowns the band will sky rocket.
Jeffrey Gordon Yeah, lyrically, Treehouse is outstanding. The mixing of the sounds would be good for all the picky "heavy" fans. I prefer this laid-back sound though. It's a lot more unique than the same-o headbanging music with "ehh" lyrics just for the momentary jam session.

Very good, I mean, you gotta love Devin's vocals, he's amazing. I tend to want the screams every now and again though......New Demons was great, but this is pretty good too. Amazing live as well.

the lyrics are so sad but this is the only song that i can genuinely say feels like im stepping fo a cliff and just letting go of everything. the amount of freedom i feel listening to this and singing in my own way that feels good to me is just amazing...the acoustic version is a good counterpart cause its falling into darkness while this is floating toward light. its amazing.

Ive never known what it is but I see stars to me are so different and can't help coming back to them constantly, definitely some of the most talented bands I've heard , they know how to pull you in ,but they also have a diverse sound which is good and very rare now adays

I really do enjoy the drum tracking on this album, and how they added some diversity. do yall realize how quickly people would get tired of listening to the same shit over and over? they took a risk, it's going to be the same with any album, they do subtle changes and there will always be negative feedback. at least appreciate what they've done here.

"sampling"? luke holland did the drums for the entire album, there is no "sampling"
FuryNotFurry you have no idea of sampling do you? I said SAMPLING not PROGRAMMING. Sampling means basically layering the 'real' recorded drums with samples, which makes the fills sound so wierd because the samples aren't played live and won't sound realistic being played fast
TYFLOL Except he's playing the ENTIRE song in the session, hes not just hitting the snare once so they can record it and add it in after, I know what sampling is. Again, there's no sampling.
FuryNotFurry I don't think you quite understand... He played the entire song in the session ofcourse, but they put sampled drums over the 'real' performance, so they had a lot less of a hard time mixing the entire thing. They just put some mixed instruments over the drum parts basically. The problem with that is, that the drums don't sound live anymore, cause half of it is played live, while the other part is just samples. That makes the fast notes sound really wierd, because samples can't pull that off.
Sampling is basically just used by lazy engineers, or by bands that don't want to pay their mixer a logical amount of money.
