Payton Cousins certainly heavier, but she does have that twang of sorts that hayley has. Still worlds away from paramore, but I see where the comparison comes from

It's not that. Both singers do a couple similar vocal flourishes, like the way they have a slightly extended and stressed vowel pronunciation, and have similar vocal ranges. The bands themselves don't sound particularly similar.

@@jacksonmasco this is the same sound that I hear when I do listen to radio crap. New songs that I hear on the radio and the music from this band are bland and therefore boring. The best and most creative new music for me has been from my own research on TH-cam and other internet websites not the radio. But this band isn't one of them. The newer bands that I personally like from the last decade plus are mostly from Europe and these bands mix classical, folk and other styles of music with rock and metal. Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation, Arch Enemy, Eluveitie, Cellar Darling and many others blow these newer radio bands of the past 15 years away in creativity. The Japanese band, The Wagakki band, that I discovered this year blew me away with them mixing western style rock, metal, progressive and American pop with traditional Japanese folk. And my favorite American artist that I discovered this year is Samantha Fish who is a blues artist that mixes rock, American and old school country & western in her music besides her playing traditional blues. I will still listen to radio from time to time hoping that I will find good new music from new bands but a majority of the time I am disappointed.

They sound like Fit For Rivals to me.
The singer does have a bit of a 'Hailey' sound when she does the 'Whoa ow whoa ow'. There are some similarities in singing pattern, vibrato when she sings 'May-ee-aay-de' there at 2:01, but she is no copy cat for sure. The scream and emotion in her singing is fantastic.
Anyways, most of the Paramore comments have been positive, so if it helps the band get a leg up and boost in popularity that's fine by me. I noticed it, but it wouldn't have been my first comment regarding them.
Personally I think the band is far better than Paramore ever has been, that's coming from an ex paramore fan though lol.
Nah. She definitely has a similar to sound to another group I know, but I can't put my finger on the name. Paramore didn't really come to mind when I first started listening to this (this is the first song I've heard by them and it's my first time listening to it period).
I mean I guess I can hear it if I compare it to "That's What You Get," but I had to actually think about it, so..
iCOOKIEmischief I dunno who your responding to, but I'll respond. The band themselves are way harder than Paramore, the GBE guitar strumming could be likened to some of their darker songs.
Her note changes and vibrato share a sound. Again though, it was a secondary thought to compare them at all. If they are my age and or younger (29) it wouldn't be surprising if they took some inspiration, the singer mostly, from that group.
It's nothing bad at all and could positively impact them, however they are far more my style of music than Paramore ever was, but even so, damn Hailey can sing. So it's no negative to compare the singer to her at all. Never ever heard Hailey deliver a scream like that though, or emotion for that matter.

Wish people would stop comparing every female led band to Paramore. And I'm getting sick of the PVRIS comparisons. PVRIS and Dream State are nowhere near musically the same. PVRIS is pop infused, with keys, and electronic atmosphere type sounds. Lynn is a completely different singer. Both bands are good (even though I'm still not sold on this girl vocals yet). But enough comparisons.
To be fair, if you listen to Pvris' old EP, especially "The Heartless", they do sound very similar.
Finally! I thought I was the only one who thinks that this band sounds absolutely nothing like PVRIS.
