Fantastic scene through and through. I love how the director didn't shy away from showing how terrifying and destructive these giant robots, that were primarily meant for combat in space, can be in the confines of an urban settlement planetside. One lasergun blast taking out a quarter of a city block, and incendiary shells fired from the mobile suits' autocannons bursting in the streets like an artillery barrage really sends the message home. Also I really liked how they made it so that the gunpowder/magazine in Gawman's mobile suit cooked off after it was destroyed. Very nice, detailed touch by the animators.
Yeah the movie itself has a lot of shots depicting a street-level perspective of the destruction caused by Gundam combat, which makes it feel so much more realistic.
It just makes you realize that these Mobile Suits are basically walking WMDs. Over 50% of mankind was dead after everything that happened after, JUST THE ONE YEAR WAR. That is BILLIONS, with a B, of people dead from over a year of war. Colony drops, chemical weapons, colony lasers and mobiles suits all upped mankind's ability to destroy itself. Again that is only just from the OYW. Then you have the Gryps Conflict and then the First and Second Neo Zeon wars. Its no wonder why by the time of HF that a big part of the story focuses on what is left of humanity and what is left of the Earth and its ability to support life.

This has to be one of my favourite scenes in all the Gundam shows I've watched. The choreography is excellent, but they also made it a point to show that this isn't a completely one-sided battle like most fight scenes in the shows. The red pilot is more skilled and it shows as he maneuvers and picks off the others, but he's fighting actual trained opponents, not panicking children, and they whittle him down and support each other.
I see, I can definitely see why you may love this fight scene very much and I would love to check out this gundam series for sure. I personally and completely understand why you love this scene and you make a very great point about the war not being one sided. One of The main aspects of Gundam lore that has fascinated me is that the two sides are supposed to be parallels in several ways. Wars are never one sided in general and in stories should show a more believable dystopian war scenario and situation overall for better immersion. I have watched several Gundam fight scenes and shows and I do love most of them although, I definitely understand the critique of some fights being very one sided which is a critique for alot of action anime in general. Another great Gundam series that had a balance of both sides being skilled pilots and badass warriors was in Gundam Thunderbolt. The way both sides clash with each other with different technologies, skills, ideologies, and their immense determination made me appreciate the series, story, characters and Gundam franchise overall. I'll definitely check out and fully watch Gundam Hathaway for sure. This series seems like a great addition to the franchise.
I had my parents watching this movie because they were just looking for something to watch during lunch. They have zero UC gundam knowledge and only my dad knows about the medium because ehe watch Gundam Wing when he was a teen. So anyways, when this battle came up my mom got scared shitless at the level of destruction caused, how real and devastating giant robots can be. She dipped but my dad stayed to watch and by the end he asked me what he should watch in order to understand the full story.
The fact that the pilot was able to survive all of that and walk out of the cockpit on his own it a testament to their ability and how badass that suit is.
I loved how this scene showed just how terrifying a mobile suit battle would be to civilians on earth. The only other gundam movie/show that ever made me realize just how terrifying it would be was in F91 during the first act in the colony invasion when that mother was running with her baby and a shell casing from a G-Cannon hit her in the head and killed her instantly. Made me verbally say “oh shit”
0080 had a good one too when the scarlet team gets wrecked mid air in the colony and there's a mother and her infant child that get obliterated by a guncannon
The fight scene in the park is truly my favorite part cause it's the perspective of non-pilots characters when two or more MS go toe-to-toe with each other. It's like watching Autobot vs Decepticon from the human perspective, is the best example I can give.
F91 also has a few shots of these when the Ronah forces breached the colony. Even had the scene that cemented the human cost of war to me: a woman killed by a shell casing falling on her head. Her baby was taken in by the band of protagonists and survived.

I love how the second the battle gets to the ground, it kind of turns into a Kaiju fight. That shot of Gauman's Messer charging at the Gustav Karl is so cool.
Does anyone notice that Shinichirō Watanabe is the director of storyboard. He did a great job as always from Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. It is vital for animation especially the narrative direction and space continuity. Watanabe handles perspective change so well which almost as good as the live action cinema. The fight scene between two Gundams is the evident of his ability. Before I examined the credit, I doubted that the storyboard is made by Watanabe. And the answer is yes! He builds up his signature of the spacial drama and cinematic look of his production - dynamic, perspective change and no compromise on detail. You never get bored by the fight scene with him in charge. The air combat scenes in Macross Plus and Cowboy Bebop are the best example of animation lecture, which is still amazing learning that they were produced in 1990s and 2000s, almost no CG aid. Sweat...
The scene at the end of this fight when Noa is running with Gigi through the park... INSANELY good animation. Blew my mind watching it the first time honestly, it was just such a huge step forward for Gundam as a whole.
The Davao honestly was fantastic for so many reasons, from the sound design and choices of perspective and visual storytelling to the choice to pay attention to the smaller details and little things that make Mobile Suits so destructive. We get a good change in perspective from the being less focused on the pilot and the cockpit to and more on a bystander's view from the ground. We get to see the Mobile Suits not only be dangerous and causing damage with not just their weapons, but by just simply existing in their environment; their thrusters and engines scorch their surroundings, their massive weight causing buildings around them to buckle, as seen when the Fed suit stands on the building, causing it to collapse. They don't just destroy with their weapons, they just destroy everything around them by simply moving around. And then the weapons themselves, we get a proper reminder that the kinetic weapons for mobile suits are, at the very least, 120mm+ cannons and are damn well near fully automatic howitzers, and that missed shots are incredibly damaging, the beam weapons burn not just where they contact but anything too close, and kick up loads of little bits of molten slag that sprays around. We get all this while also getting a great scene that does a lot of showing instead of just telling us why, by this point in the UC, the Federation is disliked as an organization. Their callous, gung-ho response to the raid and immediate willingness to begin firing down from above with missiles and everything else they can bring to bear, despite a fully-populated city being in the direct crossfire below, with Mafty's pilot being the one to first show concern for damage created by crossfire with repeated attempts to control and redirect the fighting and pull the direction of fire away from being top-down on to the city to more horizontal and down-up, and then to a clearer open space like the park when forced to the ground. Then the Federation pilots showing no concern for the city and choosing to land their suits down on an apartment building that can't support their weight instead of making an attempt to find a clearer space. And then finally the obliviousness to the damage they've cause in the defense of the city, prioritizing patting themselves on the back for a 'job well done' and not showing much of an immediate inclination to set out to contain and address the damage in the fight. All in all it's honestly some of the best fighting we've seen in Gundam to date and it's this choice to acknowledge some of the more overlooked details and little things regarding what the mobile suits can do and what they do to their surroundings that can really elevate a scene. They didn't *have* to include the little things like reminders that missed shots from what is effectively a full-auto howitzer don't just disappear or do no harm, and that those rocket thrusters on the suits generate some serious destructive heat and force, but they did include it, and it really just elevates the entire scene as a whole.
Pretty sure you die instantly. Even if you don’t, the energy channeled into your body or the heat would still instantly kill you. And that’s before the spark even gets near you. In fact, most people in the surrounding buildings probably were cooked to death by being too close.
The best thing about this movie is that it flawlessly presented the terrifying scale of Mobile Suits from different points of view. Even from the flying scenes, it doesn't just show the Gundam in flight but rather lets you take a view of the cockpit first as it pans out to a wider angle.
sometimes, I forget mobile suits are 20-meter-tall Giants that have nuclear fusion reactors on board. Thanks to Hathaway, we finally have a Gundam show that's hardcore through and through.
What made that entire battle stand out was the attention to details, specifically both lighting and sound effect. Watching it with proper surround setup you can hear all the little noises that you'd normally miss like your general background noises. THAT was what made that scene so much more realistic when watching it. Another noticeable scene was when Hathaway was in Xi stuck in the falling container, the racket from the capsule that's falling apart really set the tone for that scene as well.
not only was it a great fight scene, but as with typical Gundam it also highlighted how fragile a human was to conflict... how one ember can melt a person right off. How one debris could crush a group of people.
I cried when I watched this scene the first time, it was perfect and captured the destructive power and giant scale of mobile suits. The music completed the experience.
Not only beautiful but this battle scene almost realistically portrays how really destructive a mobile suits battle really is, for the mobile suit it self and for the collateral damage in the battlefield.
bro i love the way they show the cockpit view and have so many details like the sounds and the more advanced cockpit with the screens it makes the mobile suits feel more realistic and new even witch from mercury feels like it has outdated designs for the cockpit
Davao's night raid were always be my favourite scene in Hathaway's Flash the only thing that irked me was how seriously slow EFSF detected the raid team, sure they are flying fast and low, but launching a squadron of gustav karl after the messer hovering, straight up top on their airbase were like bbbrruuhhhh, where's the radar officerrrrr
Probably my favorite Gundam movie ever. I watched it so many times. I completely agree, this is the most beautiful Gundam battle scene. In all its beauty and horror. That last moment where they embrace and sparks fly is probably one of the most gorgeous scenes I've ever seen in anime. The scene composition is astounding.
Tl:dr: mobile suits that use their legs are cool as fuck lmao Grounded fight choreo + movie budget will always be a potent equation ime. They definitely nailed the balance of mobile suits of this particular time period being lumbering highly-armored hulks on land without making them look too janky in motion. Entries with the mobile suits walking and running as opposed to zipping around with their thrusters (nothing wrong with that, it's easier to animate but I just prefer humanoid-shaped objects performing humanoid stuff lol ) will always be something I look out for in this franchise lmao
Still brings tears to my eyes no matter how often I watch it. It’s so clearly a labor of love on the part of everyone involved-the writers, animators, actors, musicians, and everyone else who contributed to this film
This movie was absolutely beautiful, the lighting especially I noticed really had a lot of thought put into it and it paid off, not only set the mood per scene but just looked gorgeous. The designs, background renderings, character designs, directing, animation, just too good. And of course, what this clip is about, this battle scene was masterful in its execution, the music, everything was appriopriately epic for a Gundam. I just started recently watching anime, and now this was my first time watching a Gunman one, far far beyond whay I expected. I expected it to be good, but the quality was outrageously high.
One of the scariest parts of this is showing how the Federation has no regard for its own citizens they don't even avoid shooting at a target with a city behind it. Scary seeing the Federation who were the good guys of our childhood essentially becoming the Principality of Zeon.
The problem is that you can let that stop you in a war or the enemy will just use it against you - they'll just put a civilian or friendly target behind themselves and use that as protection. It's generally understood that militaries should avoid targeting civilians and minimize harm to them, but when war comes to a populated area and there are war machines and enemies now in the area its up for the civilians to hide or GTFO because the military has more pressing issues.
Just imagine when you've held someone hostage and the police just shoot the hostage hoping you'll get shot in the process. Absolutely loved this scene.
Funny you should mention that. There was once a real life incident in the Philippines where a drug addict took a small child hostage on a meth fueled paranoia high, then while cornered by police he started stabbing the kid with an icepick. The police opened fire on both. The coroner's report later stated the kid died of a bullet to the heart.
Gunpla fan here as well… Other than how perfectly executed this scene is, I also want to say how perfect the Messer is as a gunpla, even tho it’s not really zeon, but I swear to god it’s a zeon / monoeye fan’s wet dream, it’s bulky, it’s got that cool ass shoulder armour, it’s got that classic yet newer style monoeye head, and it’s red… it even fought off and survived a gank. Color separation and articulation on this kit is also great. Work’s great no matter you are a collector or a newbie, it’s a simple yet effective kit on your shelf
You can feel the terror of mobile suits in this work! Activities other than the leading role also entertain me. I will never forget the sight of beam weapons melting the city.
I've never seen this before and now I must. I very much like the red one's design, it's a lot chunkier than I'm used to and it reminds me more of an AC.
i wish we had more shots in gundam shows from the angle of like, righth next to their foot, with over exaggerated perspective to really push how huge they are
This movie alone got me back into gunpla, these mobile suits are awesome and these scenes are just epic. I want a Blu-ray of this film just to have it.
Gundam really turn me into grown up from when I was a child watching the first series where in my mind is just fantasy cool giant robot battle in space war, and then as I grow up and the gundam series just give more realism side of the impact of war. I realise it not just cool looking giant robot battle with light saber and laser gun, but it was devastating war with terror, tragedy, and politics throughout all the story, plot and drama of the gundam series. It kinda reflection of what is going on in war as the technology advanced and that advance just made only for the weapon used in war become more deadly and destructive so it could harm people more, while instead those technology could be used for the opposite as what the most gundam piloted by the protagonist supposed to do, like the tech behind unicorn gundam, 00 gundam and aerial gundam, in wich they both used for hope to people easily communicate and connected to each other as human evolve to adapt living in space, yet some political faction used those tech as weapon to harm people. Or even in IBO where it just blatantly show the hierarchy of society in wich those on top doing all their best to be always on top while those on the bottom is always made sure being on the bottom by the top, while the conflict break where the bottom trying to struggle their way just to make sure they are not in the bottom anymore. And with this hatway and what the film show me, I again awaken from my dream of giant robot battle into the reality of war and the result of it, this movie is giving more impact to me
What makes this awesome was the perspective from the civilians point of view on the ground. The blast, the shrapnel, the plasma from the rounds melting the area, etc. Being in a war zone period would be scary but a war zone of Gundam warfare would be horrifying
This scene is beautiful because you can actually see that the mobile suits movements actually has weight behind them when they move unlike most Gundam Animations out there.
it always struck me how Gauman was positioning himself to avoid firing on the city but it backfired because the feddies had utter disregard for the saftey of the people they were supposed to be protecting. he even lead them to the park where they were less likely to hurt innocent people.
The U.C. era of Gundam is more about a realistic take on the reprocussions of constant warfare and large-scale conflicts, as well as being more grounded in reality than some of the more modern Gundam series. Hence why I like it far more than other Gundam eras. It wasn't all about having cool giant mechs for the sake of having cool giant mechs. It was about showcasing them as these horrific machines that brutally and unempathetically kill people.
These federation remind me of the violent tactics of the titans when they proceed to shooting into the city without caring about the casualties if it would resolve them in a victory.
yeah like a gundam series that focused on the calamity war in ironblooded orphans . or another gundam universe except its all set in one planet with no space combat
I realized why Gawman was cursing, he had the city behind him and the federation mobile suits fired anyway into the civilian population, shows how little regard they had for civilians as well.
It's crazy how little of a fuck the Fed pilots have about any civilian casualties in the crossfire, to be fair Mafty's guys didn't try to move away from the city very much either but damn man that one suit shot a beam rifle down into a populated city and that just seems insanely reckless. Though iirc earlier they showed Fed suits blowing something up inside a city during a riot or some such, so it shouldn't be that surprising
@@michaelsimarmata5880 Blame netflix's, "Well if you wanna see it, pay our subscription to watch it then!" greed. I'll never understand why they think not being able to see hype moments of shows/movies won't translate into subs/views, but somehow they think banhammering any possible previews so people can't see it will.
This is probably the first time we see Mobile Suits as towering mechanical monsters. I mean, you can feel the sheer weight of these things in this scene.
This version of Gundam is the best animation for me, its like borderline usual 2D and 3D but its doesnt look like the ones you see on games, imo hoope future animations would have this kind of style.. or better!
Man those beams spreding to the ground and melting the concrete is the best effect I've ever seen in animation movies. Hathaway is like the best modern Japanese anime. Like every frame was perfect other than Hathaway walking down the beach lol. That scene felt wonky for me. But the movie was s masterpiece. In all aspects, the build-up to next two movies, the music, sawano always slays and the camera angles. Man that scene of messah flying overhead Hathaway and gigi in the park. And the particles coming out from messah afyer being stabbed by a light saber. I can't get enough of this movie. It was well worth it to just dive into the og uc trilogy and other uc stuffs just to watch this one movie. CCA was also a masterpiece on its own other than a relatively short and cut contents. Damn. I wanna rewatch Hathaway now. I'll be sad when the trilogy's over and see the characters go.
U could say this is the epitome of all the build-up and the advancement of the quality of the animations in Gundam. Nah its the epitome of the all the Japanese animations if we're talking of realistic aspects and quality.
Fantastic quality and epic scenes. Love gundam.. But it's really depressing that this is the truth of how we will use such fantastic tech for nothing but to kill humans..
Imagine how dangerous it would be to dispose of the mobile suits after the battle. Their would be so much unexploded ordinance not to mention toxic or reactive materials.
It does look great and it is one of the best fights in the Gundamverse, but we're still at that point where mobile suits animated in 3DCG don't look nearly as good as mobile suits animated traditionally. Also, the fight is pretty dark and not easy to follow especially for a person who sees it out of context. A great fight with plenty of interesting details, and Hiroyuki Sawano's music is as excellent as always, but it's not more beautiful than, say, the iconic sequence from The 08th MS Team or some sequences from Unicorn.
I agreed, but the reason they use 3Dcgi because they want to make it real and the mobile suit not to be distorted between frame, and small details that other gundams don't have.
@@ยุทธศาสตร์บุริสตระกูล: You can achieve this with traditional animation, too. And distortion is one of the most basic tools in animation - it adds dynamism and can even make animation look more realistic.
@@Airsaber Yeah, They used 2D in landing scene in the forest, but I could say that is really hard to make it 2D and smooth like that scene for the whole movie, it would spent a lot of time and budgets. Like in gundam wfm you can notice some distortion in ep12 at 23:03

1:38 love the detail here on how dangerous the beam residue is. One thing getting by giant bullet shell but it’s more horrible if get hit by that.
Suffering in agony as half your body is disintegrated and you burn a slow and painful death, or you can die painlessly if it vaporizes your top half.
Pretty sure you die instantly. Even if you don’t, the energy channeled into your body or the heat would still instantly kill you. And that’s before the spark even gets near you. In fact, most people in the surrounding buildings probably were cooked to death by being too close.
@@midgetydeath how much energy is that from MS reactor?
This fight gives me shivers of excitement as a big fan of Mech and Sci-fi genre
It truly was. I felt the fear and dread of the people walking in the streets as molten slag and falling debris are falling everywhere as you run away.
1:12 I cant be the only one getting an interstellar vibe from the ost
not only was it a great fight scene, but as with typical Gundam it also highlighted how fragile a human was to conflict... how one ember can melt a person right off.
Davao's night raid were always be my favourite scene in Hathaway's Flash
the only thing that irked me was how seriously slow EFSF detected the raid team, sure they are flying fast and low, but launching a squadron of gustav karl after the messer hovering, straight up top on their airbase were like bbbrruuhhhh, where's the radar officerrrrr
Remember that Moblie suits run off of Minovsky generators in UC, which make interferes with Radar and other Electronic sensors.
I came here after playing Armored Core 6. Mech is officially my favorite genre. It somehow conveys so many emotions.
Couldn’t agree more this game really made me like mechs and gundams.
Tl:dr: mobile suits that use their legs are cool as fuck lmao
Grounded fight choreo + movie budget will always be a potent equation ime.
Tbh walking mobile suits feel weird, like giant men in costumes. Gliding around dom style is much more believable for a mecha
By far the coolest and most realistic fight scene in gundam history for me.
Still brings tears to my eyes no matter how often I watch it. It’s so clearly a labor of love on the part of everyone involved-the writers, animators, actors, musicians, and everyone else who contributed to this film
The direction of this scene is beyond this earth. The music... Beautiful
It's generally understood that militaries should avoid targeting civilians and minimize harm to them, but when war comes to a populated area and there are war machines and enemies now in the area its up for the civilians to hide or GTFO because the military has more pressing issues.
gundam: hathaway peak gundam frfr
Yup. This is was better than Narrative which I still do like
Facts lowkey felt like I was watching a James Bond movie in a good way
Just imagine when you've held someone hostage and the police just shoot the hostage hoping you'll get shot in the process.
@@HarmonyEdge Good lord.
@@HarmonyEdge Eerie how this mobile suit battle also takes place in the Philippines......
Gunpla fan here as well…
Other than how perfectly executed this scene is, I also want to say how perfect the Messer is as a gunpla, even tho it’s not really zeon, but I swear to god it’s a zeon / monoeye fan’s wet dream, it’s bulky, it’s got that cool ass shoulder armour, it’s got that classic yet newer style monoeye head, and it’s red… it even fought off and survived a gank.
Color separation and articulation on this kit is also great. Work’s great no matter you are a collector or a newbie, it’s a simple yet effective kit on your shelf
Such a great movie. The animation was nice and clean, the story is followable, and it’s just an over all great experience.
this looks absolutely incredible!!
You can feel the terror of mobile suits in this work!
Activities other than the leading role also entertain me.
I will never forget the sight of beam weapons melting the city.
Remember when first gundam aired, we are fascinated with it's fantasy, now we are fascinated and terrified with it
I've never seen this before and now I must. I very much like the red one's design, it's a lot chunkier than I'm used to and it reminds me more of an AC.
This literally showed up on my homepage after I was bingewatching some old AC trailers
This ost is insanely good
Unicorn and Hathaway's Flash have really upped the quality of Gundam fights.
i wish we had more shots in gundam shows from the angle of like, righth next to their foot, with over exaggerated perspective to really push how huge they are
that original song, "Tracer", they play during the beginning of this scene is straight ❤🔥
This movie alone got me back into gunpla, these mobile suits are awesome and these scenes are just epic. I want a Blu-ray of this film just to have it.
I loved seeing the effect the beam residue did when it melted stuff
Stunning light and dark much like a Mann film. Totally could dig seeing a Michael Mann Mecha film
My favorite Gundam dual was still the 08th ms team Vs the Gouf Custom
I like this fight scene the mech movement and the way they walk looks heavy they made it looks like a real thing…
Yeah I always expect that in UC since I first saw unicorn.
Being in a war zone period would be scary but a war zone of Gundam warfare would be horrifying
they capture the scale of mecha battle super great. i got shiver when i first seeing this watching hathaway. truly mechagasm
Yes, I love this part and I strongly agree this is the best gundam robot fight scene.
Look at the trees on fire when landing and take off! Wow
GJ Gawman for the flashiest MS dogfight
Goddamn, this is the most peaceful night in Davao
This scene is beautiful because you can actually see that the mobile suits movements actually has weight behind them when they move unlike most Gundam Animations out there.
Ahh UC.. when the MS looks so outdated but canonically speaking they're the human's second most advanced civilization
This scene reminded me alot of the Kampfer vs Alex fight in 0080
The fact that most of this was definitely CGI and it doesn’t even look like it is sayin smthn. It looks great tho
I like how the suits look like something you'd see from Zeta.
it always struck me how Gauman was positioning himself to avoid firing on the city but it backfired because the feddies had utter disregard for the saftey of the people they were supposed to be protecting. he even lead them to the park where they were less likely to hurt innocent people.
There's just something so intimidating about mechas with eyes that move.
now that's what i call GUNDAM!
The most beautiful fight in gundam for me is tied with hathaways flash and 08th ms team... you know what fight
The U.C. era of Gundam is more about a realistic take on the reprocussions of constant warfare and large-scale conflicts, as well as being more grounded in reality than some of the more modern Gundam series.
Hence why I like it far more than other Gundam eras. It wasn't all about having cool giant mechs for the sake of having cool giant mechs. It was about showcasing them as these horrific machines that brutally and unempathetically kill people.
Very awesome the detail to realism and danger these fights produce
The best fight and realistics fight in gundam history
These federation remind me of the violent tactics of the titans when they proceed to shooting into the city without caring about the casualties if it would resolve them in a victory.
As a kid it was cool giant Robots. As an adult its, war is pain no matter what side or position you have.
This scene was fantastic, shame the storytelling wasnt on the same caliber
no doubt it is! its like realistic too
I really like Gundam hathway. Romantic and beautiful lighting even the storyline is sad in the novel.
UC is come long away to this
from old graphic sphagetti to this cinematic masterpiece
from ground MS into the MS can fly in atmosphere now
They should make more Gundam movie/series like this. Grounded on Earth with urban warfare.
yeah like a gundam series that focused on the calamity war in ironblooded orphans . or another gundam universe except its all set in one planet with no space combat
@@alpha-uk4mh Its much more immersive if the shots were taken from the ground like you look up to see how massive and powerful these robots are.
I realized why Gawman was cursing, he had the city behind him and the federation mobile suits fired anyway into the civilian population, shows how little regard they had for civilians as well.
them park ppl wild
It's crazy how little of a fuck the Fed pilots have about any civilian casualties in the crossfire, to be fair Mafty's guys didn't try to move away from the city very much either but damn man that one suit shot a beam rifle down into a populated city and that just seems insanely reckless. Though iirc earlier they showed Fed suits blowing something up inside a city during a riot or some such, so it shouldn't be that surprising
I dont see much videos on this amazingly beautiful fight scene, are they perhaps getting taken down?
That may be the case, which is too bad because this is one of my favorite fight scenes in anime.
@@iambus58 So they took down scenes from Hathaway's Flash, but not WFM?
Sad...
@@michaelsimarmata5880 probably because hathaway is broadcasted under netflix?
Mech anime is good when the mechs actually behave like they are heavy.
Better than the Witch from Mercury; better than Iron Blooded Orphans. Beautiful piece of ART.
This is probably the first time we see Mobile Suits as towering mechanical monsters. I mean, you can feel the sheer weight of these things in this scene.
Scary showing realistic collateral damage of just a few missed shots in a urban setting.
Most beautiful? Its glorious!!!!
You need to turn your screen to very bright to see the scene. I don't know what it looks like when you are watching this in the cinema.
This version of Gundam is the best animation for me, its like borderline usual 2D and 3D but its doesnt look like the ones you see on games, imo hoope future animations would have this kind of style.. or better!
Such a good movie beautiful artwork.
"COMMANDER THERE IS A MOBILE SUIT HEADING TOWARDS YOUR AREA"
"IN THREE TIMES THE NORMAL SPEED!"
it's a Kampfer, it's all about speed and lack of armor.
This is the kind of giant mech battle scene that's make you realise how scary shit will be, not even Tank warzone could compare to giant mech warzone
My second favorite Gundam anime
Gawman Nobile, fearless pilot.
I like how they made beam show react when it hits the ground.
First big Philippino release and it was this scene.
Idk why you posted this without the amazing original audio.
Like in gundam wfm you can notice some distortion in ep12 at 23:03
I like how the federation mobile suits make not to completely blow up the mobile suit because of their nuclear reactors
