This game is so weird. It is both larger and smaller scale than Warno at the same time. The maps and battles feel larger due to camera angle, but are actually either the same or smaller than Warno. You definitely command less individual units than in Warno, thus manage smaller battles. Yet at the same time the player has access to strategic weapons such as Heavy bombers, transport planes, large SAMs such as Patriot or S-300, and apparently nukes now. Definitely more of an acrade style gameplay I think.
Its odd, your assigned units from at the strategic level (corp level assests and greater frequently), and yet often have no more than a battalion faceing off a battalion (scale up 1 batt. Per player multiplayer obv.), kinda makes the scale of it all odd
28:53 yeah, because units in this game don’t give warnings or any alerts when they get shot at. I’ve commented on this once before and it’s weird how they’ve yet to implement it. I mean, it’s one of the most common features in any rts game, especially the micro intensive ones.
You need to complain to the developers propper (not saying that you didn't) so they feel like adding it. Developers get focused on new stuff and forget quality of life
If the devs are going to continue with the limited unit design, they should borrow more from WiC or endwar and add a unit quick tab to show every unit's status
Downloading it now so excited for this game it's unreal EDIT: I noticed sound design has improved especially jets they do sound better now. Also that C-130 sound at 19:45 perfect, can't wait to se AC-130 in action
They could just make them MOAB style super-bombs. That way you don't have to deal with the blast physics (a real nuke would incinerate the entire map) or radiation area of denial.

The game already looked so awesome.. let's see if it got even better and what we can expect. Just realized there is a new playtest..time to enjoy! Let's also hope they finally release something in 2025..

That massive opening Globemaster paradrop looks amazing, though I imagine it's a pretty big risk gameplay wise to put so many of your starting points into a single point of failure like that. You don't get air superiority in the first 30 seconds, I imagine that thing is not living for very long.
I can see a lot of potential in the concept, but IMHO it does not satisfy that feeling of sneaking a small infantry unit through forests to prep an ambush, and that natural frontline feeling, somehow, all these games are just a worse form of Wargame, but add a lot of features, that Wargame would have needed, like matchmaking for 10vs10, rangefinder, or unit customizations. To me, even eugen seems not to be able to recreate the most magic part of Wargame again in Warno, or Steel Division, all these games feel more guard-railed, while you can see people playing mudfight now for 10 years. Still, I think this will be a good step to iterate over this slowly truly becoming a sub-genre of RTS
It's also pretty unbalanced and honestly the vibes aren't there like when I played Wargame or World in Conflict. The UI is also pretty messy and I think the game is trying to accommodate every aspect from World in Conflict and Wargame but that's where it becomes somewhat mediocre.
This looks absolutely awesome, world in conflict was one of my favourite rts games, downloading this right now as I watch this footage, the graphics are kind not that impressive, but the sound design is out of this world, wow.
@@VDVit_2013 single player scenario is in this play test, it's COOP only, 2 to 3 players playing as RU and advance and secure. It's pretty good actually and challenging as well.
It's a tactical nuke, they're a lot smaller than what most people think of when it comes to nuclear weapons, but still do significant damage. They also don't have the issue of fallout.

The graphical appeal of this game in unmatched in terms of this style of RTS imo. Just that opening with all the missiles and then the transport aircraft flying through the middle to make their drops was such an awesome sight. The Nukes have also got a great effect, especially the flash across the whole screen as it detonates. I also really like that you have a chance to rescue your downed pilots too, nice little touch instead of them just disappearing into the void.
Great content. Thanks. Looking at the phases I think a game mode would be great, where the flag points shift from phase to phase. So players have to react and redistribute or even redeploy their armies.
man the game is so ASMR like holy shit i have never felt war in my ears since battlefield 3 . the only RTS that had something just tiny bit good was COH1 if you move the camera away

I’ve been so excited for this ever since the single player demo. I’m mainly a solo player. But I am obsessed with military strategy. This looks much better than warno. Warno was just sooooo sped up and fast paced. It takes a certain mood for me to get into. I did love the army general campaign. It would be cool if this had something similar. With a strategic map. But I personally like the slower pace of broken Arrow. Not the quick twitch click fest warno turns into for me. Granted I just suck at that game lol.
@VulcanHDGaming why don't you use the g command on some of your vehichles to hit units in smoke. I find shorad and auto cannons do some serious work like that.

Having played both this and the last beta I gotta say: It sucks. Lots of potential for improvement but it needs major rebalancing. Artillery and stand off weapons are way too short range, all vehicles take too many hits to kill, etc.
What do these phases mean? I hope it doesnt mean SD2 deck building with phase locking and more availability. Dont get me wrong, i think its great for SD2 as a ww2 game to simulate historical battles, the way the reinforcemence came...but this is modern day, game isnt based around any particular battle/war/event...
I have been trying but no matter what I can't get into a match. I played back in February. But can't even play it this time sadly. Really wish they'd allow us to go against bots or try the campaign again.
My only complaints so far after watching the gameplay here is that: Infantry are too tough to kill for some reason (that one group towards the start began absorbing rounds from an Abrams firing at it) and that line of sight targeting range seems to have been reduced.
Wasn't there some controversary around this game and the pubs/devs initially? Can't quite remember. It put me off, although it was attractive to me than Warno.
They are Russian devs and one of the early trailers had a recreation of a incident that happened in the early days of the Ukraine war, so the controversy was that the devs were pro invasion, that then got answered by a kinda "nah uh" answer.

I hope they have a skirmish and singleplayer the gameplay is only enjoyable when it's not just spamming artillery and bombs into enemy defense line and have the same happen to you too there needs to be imbalance and a fun feeling i dont want to feel like playing Sc2 😂
i don't have that issue when playing Warno, we just spam artillery and bombs on each other. Idk why you found it just spamming when its been a thing for a long time

it is possible to survive that in real life too at least in theory, if you are in some sort of building which have underground level

Artillery is broken as fuck in this game. They need to increase the range so that artillery act as, ya know, ARTILLERY, not grenade launchers.

They gave US Army infantry the M7, that’s pretty cool. Overall though the systems need some balancing. Lots of spam in this game.

There isn't no, I think the system they have is fine. Just needs to be a bit more coherent.

Doesn't affect deck building. It's just for point scoring during the game.

I still love the after-effect radiation animation in World in Conflict more than this downgrade.
World in Conflict nukes were proper long range ballistic missiles though but agreeably epic.

Great gameplay, but just like Warno, supply is key and for long infantry pushes you need mobility, or they just get sniped out by air.
I've heard it's only a multiplayer beta which is a shame.
You can go in and do custom matches with friends and fight ai in custom battles or scenarios as well
