Great video. I am practicing making cover music video with myself playing multi instruments. Soon i will be inviting my friends to play with me in distant.
@@makingmusic8372 Thank you for your reply. As you probably check out some of my videos, it doesn't sounds really good. I am new about mixing, it's kinda hard how to make my mix sounds louder. Any suggestion?
Nice video! This is how I would think to do it, but it is quite a bit of production to get to the final product. I've been searching on how to record and actual "live" jam with musicians in different states. Do you have any knowledge or input on how to do that type of multi Screen recording, with the final product being in time? So far I'm finding it not possible to do. Thanks!
The delay from: the different computers, the internet, and the distance (even at light speed) makes it nearly impossible to have people really play music live over the internet. Quantum computing is hear now, so when we have a "Quantum Internet" then it will be possible.
@@makingmusic8372 I appreciate your response! I was thinking it is not possible "yet". With the internet speeds of today, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks again!
Hello... You are a great music recording video editing coach... I have a question regarding music record double screen editing on windows pc... For instance, what I am trying to do is... I would play the guitar. Then I will play the drum... and I would like to post these two different music recordings playing the same tune at once... In other words, I would like to use some alternative music maker type of editing on my windows laptop pc, which you would recommend... It would be a double screen, playing the same music, but I would be playing the guitar on one screen... and I would be playing the drum on the other side of the screen, but I would play the same tune... I very much hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, A
@@makingmusic8372 At this moment because of the quarantine , I've been working on tracks from home and a gear channel. Haven't been playing out as much since 2020. I was playing with a few Latin Jazz bands, and Classic rock groups. as well as church groups. I'm open to most genres. The last Jam was with Bill Caballero, he does weekly Jam Sessions with local groups to sit in and perform.
Even though its user friendly - Its still Far more complex than I expected ? - I do suppose using it over & over you ll get used to the quirks of the software packed systed ! Old addage practice makes perfect ? Thanks for sharing ! SB British Isles
Yes, Practice does make perfect. I have thousands of hours on audio software, and maybe a hundred hours on image editing software, but I still find video editing very challenging. There are simpler, easier to use programs, but they are not as deep, and will allow you to do what I have done with this video. Thank you for sharing.
Hi MM - great video, really helpful. Can I ask a dumb question? The first four drum stick hits give the count in for each band member to then immediately do their four hand claps in their videos. Is there then a short gap to another count in (say, four clicks) so the band members know where the actual start of the song is. Thanks.
Yes. You are exactly right. 4 sticks and 4 claps in the beginning, some space, then some sticks to start the song. If you want the drummer (or another member) to count the song in, then you need 8 clicks to start the song. He would listen to the first 4, then click along with second 4. By the way, I really like your version "Saw Her Standing There".
@@makingmusic8372 Many thanks MM for your reply and kind comment - I love that song and think it would be a great one for a band like ours to try and do during this lockdown. Thanks to your vid we can now give it a go. Cheers
HI Wayne, Thanks for putting this together. How did you create (6) separate videos on Light Works since it seems like there is only (4) as an option? Did you render a few times (like you mentioned bounce / or ping-ponging like on an old 4-track)? All of a sudden on your video you had (6) up on the screen. Thanks again! Rock ON!
No rendering. I loaded in all 6 video files, on 6 different video tracks. At this point they would all be full screen, laying on top of each other. Then I open the FX tab and select "3D dve" to shrink and move around each video separately. You need a separate "3D dve" for each of the 6 video tracks or files. This is right around 8:40 in my video. Thanks for the question.
Hello from Seattle! Love the space needle pic! This is an awesome tutorial! Finally something that’s not zoom or accapella related. I have a really stupid question as I am not a video guy, how should the members be setup video wise? (Webcam or phone?) and you’re basically recording the video and sound on two softwares simultaneously?
You can recording the video and Audio on separate apps, then sync them up before sending one file to the person that is going to edit the final video...but that get complicated fast. I would have the members record their Video and Audio with whatever device has the best camera (Phone, Pad or GoPro). If they can use better microphone than the one on the device, then it usually turn out sounding much better. An iphone or Android can work just fine. Thanks for the question!
Anthony, Sorry for the late response. I used a free version of the a program called "Lightworks". That company no longer has a free version available, so I have moved to a very powerful, open source video editing program called "SHOTCUT".
That video editing program is called "Lightworks". It will work on Windows, Linux and Apple computers. I used the free version on Windows 7, that can be downloaded here www.lwks.com/ Thank you for your comment.
