    I have hesitated doing multi-screen videos because the process seemed so difficult. Your explanations and instructions were absolutely spot on for me and I will now be doing many multi screen videos. I'm a tubist and put weekly videos up performing music, your help has been wonderful, thank you!

    This is by far the clearest tutorial I've seen on how to create a multi-screen video using iMovie. Thanks so much! Hoping to do this with my school pupils this month as we can't be together to perform for end of year events - hopefully I know what to do now!

    I often have a difficult time lining up my clips. I use a clap and can easily see the spiky sound wave, but sometimes the clips refuse to line up and seem to jump slightly ahead or behind where I want them. Then my clips are slightly out of sync. How do I prevent this from happening?
    Thanks!

    • @violynnkuo
      @violynnkuo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dennis Gurwell Hi Dennis, hmm, have you tried zooming in on the timeline to allow for more precision? That usually has worked for me.

    • @CaptKaffeine
      @CaptKaffeine 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I find that the video clips were recorded at different video rates (for example, 29.97 frames per second versus 30 frames/second) that leads to audio drift.
      If you internet search "iMovie audio sync drift" (or something similar, there are several videos that are useful).
      I also find it helpful to clap 3 times so it's easier to see the 3 spikes in the audio (instead of just 1 spike).

      I also have that same problem, Dennis. I couldn't figure out if there was a "snap" setting in iMovie or not.
      Other people were having the same problem where the both clips were just a bit offset. Cant remember if I tried "iMovie precision editor".

    Can't wait to watch this... I'm about to shoot the video for a full 19-piece Latin jazz big band (my composition/arrangement), with me playing every horn part (except for one sax track)! I will definitely need your video for help once I start editing! Unfortunately, almost every track was recorded without the video being shot simultaneously... I edited this video (and shot a few of its "scenes"), but this was mostly live off the floor footage with the full big band... very different scenario than this upcoming video (Juno Nominated album):

    @twokool4skool129 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    There's no way this is the correct method of doing multi-screen videos. Having to export the entire video for each screen and then reimport is tremendously circuitous. And since everyone's doing these videos, I doubt they're all going to that much hassle. I've seen videos with 12 screens. There must be some method to do a second overlay.
