It’s not that I’m abashing it! I just feel like there is a ton of other options for asymmetrical hybrids. Example Magic Gem, The Hater by DV8 just to name a couple. Now I know what your going to say well coach the ION Pro is a bench mark ball. Well I would argue the term benchmark is used way to much now a days. It’s like every other ball that comes out is said to be the next big benchmark ball. The reality is you can make any ball your benchmark ball sure, but I pick my own like you should. Secondly I don’t think I would ever use an asymmetrical ball as a bench mark. I like my benchmark shape to be rounder, and slower which we don’t have here.
See now that’s what I’m taking about right there. Your eyes, and bowler IQ is what I like to see. Now what happens on my house shot is inside of 8,9,10 is a big puddle that tends to make the ball slide. So the goal is to get around it, and with the ION that was the goal.
Hi Coach, If you're going to compare some balls to this one, I'd like to see you try The Road. When the Ion was introduced, I was looking for it to replace two or three in my collection like the IQ Tour (solid), Code X, Rubicon and perhaps the Torrent. The Road looked good in your hand, but the Ion unfortunately didn't. Maybe you need more time with this Ion and get some lane shine on it or something. Like my trying the Sublime a couple times and I was sorry I bought it. Now I'm looking forward to using it again as I found it breaking hard on the backend... 🙂
@@wingmann29mann31 my opinion is it’s not for me. Now don’t get me wrong it’s an ok ball, but it reminds me of the storm summit. The summit was very strong symmetrical, now the Ion pro is like the asymmetrical version of that ball. If I want a benchmark I’m going to stick to the phase 2/Xponent or a number of others. That just my opinion 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks for for noticing I appreciate it. Lots of hours has gone into my release, and it would be farther along if I didn’t get hurt. However I think the progress has been a success so far, but the test is coming. Nationals the end of July!!
@@badbadbowling101 Yes sir! Your way more behind it longer at release and you can see the increase in power/control. It’s for sure going to help on the team pattern, seen a lot of folks have to get deep on it. Good luck brother!
@@EdButlerDetroit thank you and I feel like at nationals we all need a little luck. Getting behind the ball was a grind, and to be honest I think it was the cause of my bicep tear. Sometime I feel like these changes are for the younger people. However I had to make the changes because to coach something to have to have a full understanding of it. Approaching 50 isn’t easy 😂😂😂
I’m torn. U and the hype are both independent. Hype said Storm might have something special with ion pro. U say it’s not worth the price. There better balls for price. Not sure which way to lean.

I feel like SPI tried to remake the Motiv Black Venom with the Ion. Do you think so? If so, I think I’ll personally choose the Motive Black Venom instead.
After some thought 🤔 I have to say you’re right.. I would also take the black venom by Motiv as well. See the issue is the people on staffer with SPI don’t have a choice, but to throw SPI.. 🤷🏽♂️

My move off of that shot is feet on 28, 20 at the arrows and the bad bad bowlers box downlane at the breakpoint.
