Very hip songwriter/performer. The musicianship in his band(s) cannot be denied. I find a lot of cats who play music are jealous of his success and abilities. Of course, those who are secure in who they are as musicians love the cat.
john is a different kind of threat to so many musicians that's why they don't do much collabration with him or having said they ain't able to do that.....
Yeah it's JJ. But yeah, you're right. His funk and feel IS unmatched. Similar to Jordan to a certain degree but different in so many ways. For me, JJ is the master. He finds the groove and just dials it right in. Everything he plays has the most amount of thought behind it. The man is incredible.
Wow! Playing Mercy as a replacement for Out of My Mind (same key and similar sick solo) was awesome. And doing that Cold Shot thing sounded awesome :) And I just love that opening to I Don't Trust Myself.
Is it just me... that lewd and lascivious way he use to work that guitar is definitly supposed to be x-rated... like on the higher racks of the section... damn! :)
