Thanks for sharing brother. I'm from Dayton. GG is missed. I can tell how greatful you are for once bieng GGs friend. He would appreciate all the good things you say about him. His name and accomplishments deserve that.
Poignant stuff. What I admire about your work with GG is that, in calculatedly avoiding the self-destruction and sensationalism, you were able accomplish something that brought GG's artistic intelligence to the fore. Too bad others didn't take a leaf out of your book. R.I.P.
@@ponkmedia You know the funny thing is the Penguin Pub was burnt to the ground like a week later. A couple friends at the time hang out backstage with GG. My one friend was yelling you're my father and was booted by the jack boots working the show in the first three seconds. One guy Billy was socked in the nose thinking he could sing along with GG. GG jumped on the bar and scared the waitress into the cooler. Me and my buddy decide it was time to liberate the beers behind said bar. GG saw my black buddy and focused in on trying to grab him. There was a column and we just rolled around the pillar until someone else caught GG's eye. Definitely good times back then.
Thanks for sharing. Your a lucky bastard for having those memories. I think everyone has this tough I hate everyone and everything that GG tends to display about himself but if you really watch and listen closely you can tell he is genuinely a nice guy with a great sense of humor. Look forward to more insight of your friendship and working with the king of the rock n roll underground \m/.
Thanks for checking out the content. It was always my goal to capture "the other side" of him and he was well aware of that, which is why we did a country album and why my work with him was focused on the art/music/person and not about the shock stuff. He repeated what we were doing because he knew it would stand the test of time. He was a really smart guy, some people just can't see that and who can blame them hahaha. Thanks for checking out the content and for the support!!
Good stuff, thanks for sharing this. GG Allin was one person but Kevin Allin was a nice guy from the interviews I have seen or read by other people who knew him or meet him in person. RIP GG ❤
Thanks for sharing. The Somber Reptile was kinda like that, tame for GG, but it was still great. And they played for a full half an hour. A little crazy at times. I got to spend time w/ GG before the show, drinking beer at the Clermont w/ Mark H. and George Marchman (RIP). Great show, well worth the 700 mile drive from central Florida.
Thank you so much! I was at that show! I lived upstairs from that bar in 1989 and went there constantly til it closed. That's Danny Klasic in the camouflage. Pat and Chuck no longer owned the bar at that point. The then owner Bill was out of town when the staff booked GG and he was pissed! Shortly thereafter, they all left and opened the Pub Down Under. John Kennedy, who also used to work the door, now owns the Royal Oaks on the Eastside. I live in FL now and the building was still standing last I checked. Robert Arroyo, who's brother also owned the building at some point bought it back. Changed the name to Amy's Campus 2000. I think he sold it and it's some hippie co op now. I spent countless hours in that rat infested haunted house basement. Mostly just smoking weed with the bands and bar staff. Walking Clampetts, the Earl Rays, My 3 Scum, Sleazy Jesus and the Splatter Pigs. So many great bands and memories. Thin White Line from Pittsburgh. The best unsigned band in history and the members became life long friends to me. I'll subscribe to your channel so you can get paid. Please look into that band. The sound on TH-cam is terrible but you'll get the energy. I promise. Thanks again. Sincerely
Nice! Thanks so much for the story and history of the Pub. That's really cool! Nice to hear this.Interesting to hear that GG was booked on the low down. I'm gonna check out Thin White Line, sounds fun! There are so many great bands from that era that really didn't get the recognition they deserve, for whatever reason. Gonna be posting lots of unreleased content as time rolls on. Thanks for the support!
yeah, it was sad because we became close, due to our work together. But, we knew it was inevitable. I still miss him. Thanks for checking out the content and for the support. Very much appreciated!
Pissing in a fans beer haha Dude I’ve always wondered why it came out posthumous, cuz I love that style he does and thought it’s so good why would it wait to come out after he passed … but yeah money and the banks the answers my questions Thanks for the stories and the Polaroids ponk!
Thanks for checking it out and supporting the channel. Yeah man...GG loved those recordings. We even chatted about doing more, but...fate got in the way.
The AlRosa Villa used to have these humongous black security guards who were cool, until they weren’t. Saw them stuff people into trash cans and take them, put people in full Nelson’s and say “hey free punches to whoever wants to” Granted, the people getting dealt with were actually being a-holes. And were warned multiple times lol
Yeah! I went to a few shows there. I heard similar stories like that. Yikes! Im guessing that place isn’t around anymore, especially after the tragedy.
@@MrJadePinwheel what killed him was he had been doing coke before the gas station show, popping pills during and snorting smack/drinking after! All this on top of the fact he was recovering from blood poisoning! His body just gave out finally!
Good friends with Walt Wheat Antiseen's new guitar player. I jammed with his band "Before I Hang"" for about 30 seconds as my mom had a stroke and needed open heart surgery which kept me away from Hattiesburg for about a month and they decided Eric Blackwell (R.I.P.) would come from behind the drums and sing and find new drummer instead. When Antiseen came to Hattiesburg,MS I was standing right next to the "Krusty Punk" that was shouting and pointing at Jeff Clayton calling him a nazi and racist because they played the Ramones song "Stormtrooper". He ended up spitting at bass player right in front of Jeff (HUGE MISTAKE) and Jeff come off the stage and beat the shit out of the Krusty!! Funny as hell!! I would sit and talk with Jeff whenever they came to town and he is most down to earth country boy! Glad Walt is getting to play wiith them. If I had known they were looking I would've thrown my name in the basket lol!!
Wow! Yeah, big mistake..Hahaha. It was great meeting Walt. They sounded great that night! He gets a great sound out of his guitar. The Ultra line up smokes!!
@@ponkmedia Yeah Walt and his wife are good people! When the Whiskey Rebel and Jeff Clayton came thru and did a spoken word show they stayed at Walt's and we had a big BBQ. Jeff loves him some pro wrestling lmao!! #1 topic of the night if I can recall correctly.
@@ponkmedia Have you ever seen the video of GG filling a turkey baster up with ketchup then squirting into this chicks ass so she could then "add" the ketchup to his french fries?

Yes, i shot that video. It was right after he got the rat tattoo. The bike was the guys who gave him the tattoo, Chris Kramer. It was also his house where we were at. I have never released that video in full. Just the clips that you have probably already seen.
