If you had to dive more into subcultures of punk and hardcore, youd have to dive into metal subcultures and emo subcultures in the very same video as so many notable subcultures blend the 3 groups, for example the deathcore subculture or metalcore and/or post hardcore subculture(s)
You forgot about sharps and the current skinhead movement, aswell as how skinheads like to refer to racist skins as “boneheads” Also the pictures in the punk section were kinda sad, they looked like they were all from a spencers advert. Oh and there’s way more punk sub-genres worth mentioning loke folk-punk.
I've been a Metalhead and Goth for 16 years. I love Goth Rock, Deathrock, Darkwave and Coldwave. I love Technical Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Black Metal and some Nu-Metal and core stuff (Metalcore, Deathcore, Grindcore etc...) Favorite Metal band is, Archspire. Favorite Goth/Darkwave band is, She Past Away. Btw, Goth is a music based subculture as we call ourselves Goths which you probably are well aware of. Gothic describes an old architecture. Creepy Mansions, Castles 🏰.. that are dreary and used as the term, GOTHIC to describe it.
Erm actually, the term goth originated from a group of barbarians who also called themselves goths but look nothing like the modern day goth and those barbarians would attack Rome and contributed to the fall of the Roman Empire🤓☝️
Fun fact! Metal pioneers Black Sabbath wrote their song Fairies Wear Boots about being attacked by Skin Heads. The song ends explaining how everyone thought they just hurt themselves during a bad drug trip, and because of that, they made the song sound like it was describing a drug trip!
I just call myself alternative! (and after the person gets to know you, you just explain what you like, or you say that youre a part of alot of subcultures)
As far as hip hop goes, Jimmy Saville was the first DJ to use two turntables, wear sportswear and lots of bling. He is the godfather of hip hop on sooo many levels!
daamn really cool video, you asked for suggestions so, like, in a part 2 i'd like to see subcultures such as Rave, Reggae/Rastafarian, Junglists/Drum and Bass, Hipsters, E-boys and E-girls, Otakus/Weebs, Gamers, Skaters, Cosplayers
as an emo myself, you're forgetting to talk about more of the genres. Yes, emo was driven from punk, all emo is punk but not all punk is emo. The genre that was branched off is called "Emotional hardcore" which is where the term emo came from in the first place. Under the Emotional hardcore umbrella, there are MANY different genres, the main ones (IMO) being screamo, Skramz (old screamo), Post hardcore, and midwest emotional hardcore. The first wave emo is more midwest emotional hardcore, and the second wave is more screamo. Although pop punk was a huge influence In emo culture, believe it or not the bands aren't actually emo themselves...but like I said they were very important to shape the scene and pull people into the subculture! Pop punk is usually the starter bands to most demos, making them important in the scene regardless. They're less heavy/hardcore than the other genres in the scene. Emo isn't just about looks!! The music and community is what makes emo, emo :)
yeah!!! emo is getting rlly popular im a emo who ngl wasnt alive in the 2000s and ik a lot of other emos my age who are rlly into it and stay true 2 the culture from the 2000s :D
I can see how he played a good influence early on, but people like iggy pop should have been mentioned instead. Lou Reed did a lot for a lot of genres including punk, but I feel like he has had much more influence on avant garde and experimental music.
@VOYDDAHUSKY well tbh most "emo" music you'll come across isn't actual emo music. also, most ppl in that community are just posers trying to be different. So my point stands. imagine being emo lmfao.
This is a useful video for people that wear Nike Tech and call every alternative person an emo lol

Punk and Hardcore could be a video of their own. The amount of different subcultures within them is insane

At this point Hip Hop is no more a subculture and is the mainstream culture. Impossible to go anywhere without rap being played
Historically, theres no correlation between hip hop and graffiti
Hip hop is an entire lifestyle. Music was just part. Break dancing and graffiti were other parts.
Not true graffiti was one of the 4 elements of hip hop back in the early days

As metalhead i never though straight edge would save my mind and health as a musician
This is one of the best videos I've seen on this month, pretty good bro
How do i explain that i am emo, listen to metal, and listen to hip hop.
@TioCx7 same but i dress emo, listen to hip hop, make metal music, share political beliefs similar to punk, am straight edge, and lowkey a bit goth
I'd say that's punk

My man just forgot Rastafarianism
You started talking about Punk and the dyed mowhawks but you also mentioned the ramones and they didn’t have that haircut at all
