Riding With GG Allin in a Limousine? How is that even Possible?

- In 1991, I brought GG Allin to Tampa Florida to record, what would eventually become, Carnival of Excess. During that week, we worked on several projects and also did a few events. One of the events was in In-Store meet and greet at the Alternative Record store in Tampa. The event was scheduled for two hours, which went the duration. It was packed. We had been heavily indulging since GG’s arrival, so we thought it best not to drive there, so we decided to take a limo. When I saw GG at the Harbor Club a few years earlier in 1989, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be riding in a limo with him, just a few short years later. He had a fun time riding around Tampa getting lubed up and primed for the event. I’m going to be doing an episode about the In-Store itself, but wanted to share some of this Classic footage from the ride to the event. After it was over we went back to the house, went swimming and indulged into the wee hours of the morning. The In-Store was a great success and all was good. A fun day in Tampa’s music history!

Every time I see GG interviewed, or footage of him when he's not in "performance mode" he just seems really sad and lonely. I think "When I Die" is his rawest and most honest song
Yeah....I don't disagree. That is why I wanted to do something like Carnival (and the acoustic stuff) with him. I really wanted to do something with him that would have longevity and would give him some sort of peace, if that was possible. I told him that on several occasions. Agree on When I Die. It is power and that ep which it came from, was the inspiration for me to work with GG in a different capacity. It was the inspiration to create Carnival of Excess.
This is rad I watch all your videos. Wish I could go back in time and score a GG autograph!!

Really love you, Ponk, seriously brother. Thanks so much for keeping GG’s legacy live on with all of this amazing footage. Really sucks that I was born in 88, so I didn’t get into G til 98/99, so being able to see all this awesome footage of him just hangin, partying, being himself off stage is great, man. But ya just wanted to tell ya I love ya, just got home from rehab a month and a half ago and got a new TH-cam account. Time to catch up on new stuff and all the old classic. 🤘thanks brother🤘

Thanks for checking it out. The work I did with GG was, at some level, to focus on the artist/musician. We did a lot of normal things that week, like swimming while listening to Bob Marley Hahaha GG could be focused and a hard worker when he wanted to be. Thanks again for the support!

Another great video. Excellent. Thanks for sharing. At one point I heard GG start to sing Dear Doctor by the Rolling Stones. I think you mentioned he liked that Stones record which surprised me. Did you have many interactions with Merle? Got any good stories? Thanks
Yeah...he liked Beggars Banquet and it was played a lot that week. Last time I hung out with Merle was in NYC for the opening premiere of Hated when it first screened....a hundred years ago.

This is a great video (as all of your videos are). The in-store was amazing and this video leading up to it makes my memories even better. From GG banging his head to sign his name in blood to GG signing stuff for some kids just showing up to see why a limo was on Nebraska Ave. Seriously, thanks for these uploads!

Glad you like it! That was a very long day and night Hahaha. This was after GG got out of prison. While he was in, they deemed his teeth a heath risk and yanked what shards of teeth he had left, out of his head. I will probably do something with the other stuff at some point. Oh Wow! Funny you mention that. I was reading a bit about him and did draw certain parallels between him and GG. and..not just the obvious things. I halfway thought about doing an episode about it, but I'm not educated enough on Diogenes to intelligently speak on/about him.....yet, hahaha. Interesting stuff! How about you? Do you see it?

I had an above ground pool at the place where I was living. We swam several times, so it was like a chlorine bath, haha. Technically, no...no shower, just the pool.
