Cat vs Coyote

  • This video was captured by our security camera while we were out of town on a trip. We only knew that it happened after reviewing the footage once we got home. The sound on the camera was turned off so we missed hearing the commotion. Watch as our neighbor's little kitty fights for it's life! Amazingly, it survived.

    That was a pretty good sized coyote and it got in some damage to the cat. I am thinking the cat dug that coyote's muzzle up pretty good. Once the cat was backed up against the fence and stayed low, each time was exposed to razor sharp claws. Coyote does not want to an lose eye as there few Ophthalmologists near his den so he packed up and left.

    I've seen a lot of these domestic cat vs coyote videos, and this is the only one where a cat survived by fighting the coyote. All the other videos, the cat stands the ground and fights but once the coyote gets it's jaws on the cat, it's over. The other videos where the cat survives, it climbs up some kind of post and just waits for the coyote to leave. This video here shows something the other cats that stood their ground but lost didn't do, this cat backed up against the fence and forced the coyote to come straight at it. This cat nearly screwed up when they were out in the open, a tactic I've seen other housecats use...over extending themselves and leaving a weakside open to attack, only to end up as coyote dinner, but this cat was lucky enough to recover and back up to the fence.

    Cat's are nothing to fool with. Yea a Coyote is viscious but a cat in all fight mode may not win the battle but it can definitely do some serious damage. The Coyote re-assessed the situation when he realized he failed at catching the cat off gaurd and it would end in a grewsome battle with the Coyote himself sustaining injuries even though he would win.. ..injuries can lead to infection which leads to death.. ..Coyote wasn't hungry enough to risk it and decided he would try to catch his next victim by surprise.

      Not around my place. 'yotes come on my property they get a lunch of canned dog food mixed with Xylitol. End of coyotes. Perfectly legal, you can buy it right off the shelf at Walmart and won't harm anything other than the coyotes. Just keep your dogs away from it. Fatal for all canines.

    • @DoubleDogDare54
      @DoubleDogDare54 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @The Weapon Collection Not at all. It only affects canines and one species of sugar birds found in Africa. Nothing else. If people lock up their dogs they won't be harmed. As far as "trickle down the food chain", Xylitol is found in sugar free gum, baked goods, tooth paste, mouth wash, lots of other goodies and everyday items you use all the time. People use and consume tons of it every year. Using Xylitol is like using a laser on coyotes. They eat it, their pancreas reacts as though they ate ten pound of sugar, floods their bloodstream with insulin, wipes out the glucose in their system. The brain can't operate without glucose. The coyote passes out, end of story. They never wake up. Very quick, pain free. They faint, the brain dies, they are gone. Not irresponsible at all. Much better than shooting or trapping and the pain and fear that goes with those actions.

    • @DoubleDogDare54
      @DoubleDogDare54 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @The Weapon Collection Xylitol is a sugar substitute. It is found in lots of sugar free candies, gums, baked good, mouthwash, toothpaste. You use it yourself and don't even know it. Canines are the only species that have a bad reaction to it. If people or any non-canine critters eat it, they don't react to it. But for some reason the canine pancreas reacts to a spoonful of Xylitol as if it were ten pounds of sugar. The pancreas floods the bloodstream with insulin, the insulin wipes out the glucose. The brain cannot function without glucose. The coyote rapidly slams into hypoglycemia, passes out, never wakes up. With no glucose the brain ceases to function and the 'yote is dead. Much more humane than blowing holes in them or trapping. They simply faint and that's the last they know.
