Holy cow this lady lives at the end of my street! The dog is a miniature Japanese Akita. who has got to be about 15 years old now. His name is Ito. I saw him today so he survived this encounter, but i'm going to start taking a stick when I take my 17 month old son for walks! Thanks for sharing.
"..This coyote should be put down" - How about just tranquillised, checked over and moved far away from the area? Why is killing absolutely everything in sight the first thing that comes to mind for some people?
Seriously? If the photographer thought the coyote was about to attack, why did he just keep filming? I once saw a coyote trotting across my pasture. He ran up to a neighbor's dog, and they rubbed noses. Then he trotted off into the woods.

It happened in of October of 2009. She was airlifted to Halifax where she died of her wounds. She was a full grown young woman and, unable to defend herself successfully, she lost her life. She was killed by coywolves, a hybrid of an eastern wolf and coyote. I see western coyotes all the time in my back property. I have never been fearful of them but I do not feed them or attract them to me. Sometimes they move in packs up to 5-6 going up and down the road during the night. We leave them alone and they mostly leave us alone, however they will leap fences to get at small dogs.
I grew up in the country and I have heard coyotes howling many times at night, and around dusk but only one time did I ever see a pack of them, they stayed out of sight the best they could. they walked along a fence line and I was on the road. they was not aggressive at all but I never trusted them because they were in a pack. seldom ever will they bother a human unless they have rabbid
Ahaha I love how when he zooms in on the lady's face walking her dog, she shakes her head at the coyote as if she's thinking or saying "no, I don't think so. Not today...not today."😂
Well if you had actually watched the video for more than a few seconds you would have seen that the woman was very well aware of the coyote and the man did stop filming in order to go to her aid.
That dog is not too big for a Coyote to take. I live on Cape Cod and a white Alaskan dog was taken by Coyotes. You never know when the rest of the pack is lurking.
Very interesting video and it's very interesting that you've actually has some experience with coyotes. I've been out in the desert before sleeping and have had Coyotes just walk very near my sleeping bag. this was in Henderson Nevada area a lot of coyotes being pushed, hungry, could hear small pups howling really kind of got to me they were hungry as what they were, and kids are going out there and shooting them. When I was a kid I once picked up a dog on the side of the road in Oregon and actually he looked like a coyote. I took him up to my dad's ranch and he's says well just leave him alone and we'll see what he does. Next day he was gone. This wild dingo dog or coyote never was aggressive with me he just got in the car and took him up to the ranch and let him go on the ranch, next day and he was gone after my dad gave him some fresh beef meat. Then I was throwing some arrows with a hunting friend of mine and he shows me a picture of how he shot a coyote in the eye with a 30 ought 6. I never threw arrows with this guy again. I believe in hunting for game to eat and I think that's god-given. But I do not believe in hunting coyotes and just shooting them for fun and sport. when I was in Reno actually met a guy and older guy who had a baby fox and then he was holding it in his arms and he was petting him. And that I see also how many people even shoot foxes for sport. Why would any human being kill an animal other than to live by it.?
this coyote is curious, not dangerous. his ears are up, his tail is down. if he was stalking prey he wouldnt be out in the open or stopping to sit and look around. they are social pack animals. hes lonely -not blood crazed and ready to attack.
Oh b.s. look at it. It wants to bite and kill. No fucking curiousity it IS hunting and it either has mange or lvl 1 rabies. All these so called animal defenders are fucking illogical.
Never feed wild animals as they lose their fear of people and can attack out of instinct. They are opportunists, very smart and will wait until they can take their game without being detected.
Robert Anderson You got that right. I was nearly attacked by a tourist fed bear. He thought I was supposed to provide him with food. I didn't have any, I was a long way from any other people, and I was unarmed. The bear got within 10 feet of me after following me for 150 yards. He knew when he could corner me on that trail. I turned around before I got to that point. But that bear was aggressive because of being fed by humans. BTW bears are exploding in numbers also. Our brilliant government decided we needed more predators without realizing how much food was available for them to eat. Once that food is gone what do all those hungry bears eat? Picnic baskets?
I saw a video on coyote behaviour today. It said that they're hard-wired to consider dogs, especially those of similar size, as competitors to their territory so they have a lot of animosity toward them. They drive off or kill foxes and intruding coyotes when they encounter them just like wolves do to coyotes.
My jack russell was attacked by a coyote a few months ago - yelling, having a stick, and other people around didn't really help; it's almost like the coyote was on a mission and nothing else mattered. Luckily, she was fine and escaped with a very minor scratch on her belly - guess the natural hunting instincts and high energy kicked in and she went for the coyote's neck and legs while retreating each time. The coyote finally ran away. ...to add drama to the story - it did come back like 3 minutes later with 2 or 3 more coyotes (which I've heard it's unusual for them to be in a pack); but we were safe inside the car. My dog was shaking and I could tell by her ears and tail that she was pretty afraid, she also had some blood on her; but after washing her off and taking her to the vet it turned out to probably be from the coyote. Maybe I'm crazy; but I did feel a bit bad for the coyote (but was also happy about my dog not becoming dinner).
Even if you shoot at them with a strong one? I havent shot a Coyo yet but Cats and dogs getting too close, yes..You mean..Maybe I should think a Coyote is like a mad pitbull..needs more than a pellet to stop it..
There's no reason to feel sorry for a coyote. They are thriving beyond belief. Feel sorry for bobcats if you want to feel sorry for something. They are threatened. All these city people that think they know wildlife mostly don't have a clue. Check out my channel and see what I spend my time doing. I spent countless hours getting the videos I have posted there for the most part. There are a couple that aren't related to wildlife. But see if you can find any wildlife videos on the channels of the coyote lovers. They have no clue what goes on in the real world. They really don't. Do I look like I hate animals? Look at my videos before you answer. Then see how many others in this thread spend ANY time with wildlife. I love being out there. I show things in a positive light that many people hate (like beaver, copperheads, raccoons, etc.). These are just my videos that I have posted. I have lots more not to mention my photos. What are these people doing to help animals? Whining about a poor little coyote threatening an old woman. Talk about callous humans. Maybe someone will return the favor someday and ignore them when they are threatened. That is something I will never understand or accept.
No this is what happens when an animal has nothing to keep it in check. These are opportunistic creatures looking for the easy meal. Fifi the cat and Poofy the pomeranian are on the menu!!
+Robert Anderson It definitely had mange, but you may be correct about some idiot feeding the coyote. People think they are doing something good when feeding wild animals, when in fact that is the last thing they should do. When a wild animal associates people with food the end result is NEVER good. Many of the wildlife conflicts I am called to solve start off because of some uneducated idiot feeds the animal. Many times the only action I can take to protect the public is to put the animal down (breaks my heart most of the time).
Nightshade C. Blackheart Do you not see the humor calling yourself a wolf, and me a rat. Seems to go with the opposite of the rest of your rants. Wolves were extinct in the lower 48 until we brought them back, and no matter what we try we cannot eradicate the rat. So using your context you are only alive because humans are protecting you, as I survive no matter what humans do. Have a nice life:)
Richard Fuller you have no honor hence the name rat. wolves did not go extinct. they went endangered. people do not hunt rats for their fur because they do not have the beauty a wolf does. rats have such large numbers because they breed very fast and have many children they mate with thier brothers and sisters and their siblings' children and even their own parents. wolves mate for life because they ave honor and order. so, vermin, you have been dismissed. go back to the sewers.
People CANNOT STARE DOWN A COYOTE & SCARE IT AWAY !!! MAKE NOISE, JUMP AROUND, WAVE YOUR ARMS !!!! WHOOP & HOLLER !! Thank you Bruce for showing this !! Now going to Part 2.
+lee cal I haze them, by staring them down and stalking them like a predator when they den under someone's deck etc... I dig at the den site getting as much of my scent in the area as possible, than turn on a caller with pups in distress. I wait for mom and dad to come running, than chase and stalk them for about 10-15 min. So far 100% success rate with only one service call. I am also armed at the time, and know how to read wild animals. I would not suggest this technique to anyone who does not have experience with wild predators. Never try this with raccoons:) they will attack.....
OK...I'm sorry, but this woman is not very bright. She's walking her dog, sees the coyote...and continues to walk him right past. If you see a coyote the best thing to do is to SCREAM/YELL as LOUD as you can and wave your arms, making yourself look bigger. We had one in the backyard once at 11 AM when our cat was also outside and my mother and I started screaming--he heard us even though our windows were closed and bolted and ran. Last night a pack of them in the neighborhood woke me up at 4:15 AM with their bloodcurdling screeching and howling; I opened my bedroom window and screamed and they took off immediately.
Where I live one can walk on a trail and see coyotes. If I am without my medium size dog I don't fear them. They stop-look and amble away. There has never been a coyote attack on a human up here in the mountains where I live. I would never think of screaming but if they hang around my back property too long lounging around and looking TOO at ease, I clap my hands loudly and they take off. The younger ones run and the older ones amble away after giving me a dismissive look.
So many spineless people are scared to death of wild animals. Gary's wife here : as a 44 year old woman in a large park at the foot of Pikes Peak walking (without a leash) my 80 pound Border Collie, a Coyote appeared and my dog put to the chase. I was calling his name and he just kept chasing. Then two other Coyotes came up from behind my dog and started chasing him. This is a common practice of wild coyotes to take down a dog. They work as a team. Well, 44 year old MAMA started chasing them all on foot. I had no fear and no weapon but I am really good and using my fist and can aim for a dogs nose if necessary. My dog finally stopped chasing Coyote number one and turned around to face off with the two following him. He saw me coming and somehow the two coyotes became aware that I was after them.....and they ran away. Yes, there were tree limbs and sticks around and if I needed one I would use one. We have to share this planet with the animals and stop thinking that we are justified in extinguishing life just because it scares us or inconveniences us. The number one group of people I TOTALLY DISRESPECT AND DON'T CARE IF THE WILD ANIMALS RIP THEM APART are the ones that move from the city into the mountains and plains and just because they have high paying jobs and lots of money, they believe that they can move into the natural habitat of animals and have the animals destroyed. We have a large acreage and lots of coyotes, antelope and such cross our land. Whatever.....they are beautiful creatures created by my beautiful Holy Heavenly Father and I thank him for this beautiful earth he created.
The coyote did not want anything to do with them or then being curious. The behavior exhibited in this video does not show any aggressive behavior on the part of the coyote. Just people that want to incite fear and hatred for a species.
With all of this new development, and loss of forestry here in Burnaby over the last few years, I haven't seen one wandering the streets. Last time I saw one was 2 years ago walking directly up the middle of my street mid day, and a week later I saw him again a couple of km's away eating trash just 20 feet away from people waiting for the bus at Gilmore Station. Great footage. Thanks for sharing
It may have not been aggression toward the dog. My dog used to play with the local coyotes. That does not appear to be stalking behavior. Stalking is keeping low to the ground and creeping. That seems more friendliness.
Humane officer view. I live with them in and around my property and yard. They never bother my animals. they do act different if there is a dog in heat. they do look at small animals as prey. There are some cases where they breed with wolves and even fox. Its fur looks to be molting on body but tail could be mange or from a snare trap. there have been rare occasions where one has attempted to play with another animal, but it should be avoided as wild animals are very unpredictable. And every animal and plant has a part in our eco system.
That coyote isn't showing any sign of aggression more signs of being rabid. Idk agree that it has a mild case of the mange but he isn't on the prowl for old women or dogs. Lol people need to educate themselves with animals and behavior's before they make assumptions. He has more than likely been thrown food by a few people and now expects food from everyone to whom he sees. Not a good video headline. Just another example of underthought assumptions
He's lost and scared. I can't believe people don't see that in his body language. Poor guy. His ears were often in a submissive mode. You should have called animal control. He needed help, not judgement. I lived near coyotes for ten years. He's not in attack mode.
I feel sad for coyotes. We encroach into their territories and then label them a menace. I suggest people who are walking with small pets or small children carry something with them to scare them off with if they live in overlapping territories, be that a stick or a spray of some kind. Just like you might do hiking in the woods. This seems more reasonable than just eradicating them. Most coyotes easily scare off. I would feel more nervous seeing a large dog off a leash.
My Airedale chased one out of the yard as it tried to attack my mini poodle. It actually jumped over my fence. Thank God for the big terrior breeds. Pit Bulls and Airedales.
This coyote only "stalks ladies and kids." The dude posting this is awesome! He is able to read coyotes' minds! Makes me wonder what HE'S doing hanging out in the park with a camera.
My cat was out for 12 years and for some reason the pack of coyotes where I lived never bothered her. Maybe she was just too fast and climbed the trees. I think she had some kind of connection with them. It was other cats that attacked her . I kept her inside her last 3 yrs. due to watching a cat try to kill her. I kicked him right off of her and that was the end of her outdoor fun. She lived 16 yrs.
It's a coyote people...not a man eater! We have many of them where I live and they are not interested in people, maybe pets, but not people. No real need to fear them and attacks on people by coyotes are really rare. I was in Arizona a week ago walking at the base of a mountain trail when two coyotes appeared from a dry gulch that ran adjacent to the trail. They actually passed within a few feet of me without so much as a glance or acknowledgement of my presence...and by the way...they were beautiful.
The coyote is sick. Look at the hairloss on the tail and the matted fur on the neck. Animal control should be called. Its only being bold because its starving and not 100%.
All great advice. One thing to add, people believe coyotes are only out at specified times of day, usually dark but as seen by your video (and my knowledge from the animal shelter I volunteered for and the animal control officers) that's a myth. Coyotes are out at all times of day. We have a poster at the shelter with pics of coyotes taken in the daylight. Sorry just saw this, otherwise would have said something years ago. Also don't leave your pets, esp small unattended in back yard even if you live in a gated community. They won't check in at gate and will jump it. Speaking from experience.
Many coyotes DO live on their own for periods of time but, usually not until they've reached maturity. At that time, they either leave on their own in search of a mate and their own territory or are forced out of the pack. Coyotes mate for life and raise their pups together. They usually stay as a family unit until their young are around 2 years old. By then, the pack has the mated pair (parents), yearlings and young pups. At that point, the pack can grow to be as many as 12-14 coyotes. I live in a large farming town in CT, where we are surrounded by a large number of packs. We don't have many of the small Western coyotes anymore. Instead, we have "Coywolves" due to the Eastern coyotes interbreeding with Canadian Gray wolves. They are larger and commonly inherit the same pack mentality as their wolf ancestors. Although, my neighbors and I will often see only 1 or 2 passing through during the day, they are usually scouting for food sources and will hunt in a larger group after dusk.
I worked nights and used to come home in the early morning hours anywhere between 1am to 4am. My mobile home park has been here about 50 years and is right next to the Indian reservation here in E. Scottsdale, AZ Coming home from work a few years ago I saw a pack of coyotes in the park: 2 coyotes and a dog the exact same size. A few weeks later they did a kill either right in back of my place or On My Roof at 2am! It was a hell of a commotion! I saw therm again about a year later but without the dog. It seemed to me the coyotes had gotten a lot larger. So I started doing more research than I had already done. COYWOLVES (coyote and wolf bred in the wild) are real and populations may be growing so be AWARE and Be Prepared and be Careful out there. A quick note to Monkey Vibes: I had never seen or heard of a racoon in AZ. One night as I entered the back door of my house after work, I heard a strange growl. I turned around and there was a racoon growling at me up on it's hind legs. I chewed him out and said "Don't you growl at me!"! He got down off his hind legs and waddled toward the very back of the yard that was a dry creek bed. It flows during heavy rains. Well all of a sudden there was another 'coon' following it, and then another and another. Then there was a little one and they kept coming till I had seen about 15 or 20 of them. Darndest thing I ever saw. Turns out my dumb neighbor had been feeding them. There is a VERY Dangerous Parasite in their Feces. It will kill an old person and turn your kids into vegetables. I don't imagine it's very good for middle aged people either.
we have infringed on their land... it's dishearting...though it's a reality a lot of areas and neighborhoods live with ... build build build. the more we build the more this happens
Anyone who knows anything about coyotes knows you can not get within 1/4 mile of a wild one. All this coyote was doing was hanging out in a neighborhood looking for handouts. At on point it waits by the fence when the one lady went into her apartment. You can see it is old and not agile.
I hunt coyotes. They are very smart, can smell and hear you for a very long way. Most coyote hunters need to use a scope, they are that hard to approach. You SHOULD never see them. A coyote you see out in the open in broad daylight in your neighborhood is hyper aggressive and most likely HUNTING. The "leave him alone" crew is stupid, knows nothing about coyotes.....This neighborhood is a hunting ground for this critter. He needs to be put down. Just a matter of time before it latches on to a 3 year old ....
Do you blame them? Human expansion is forcing them to hunt in cities, and most of the time they go for small prey like squirrels. If you really fear for your 3 year old child then open your tunnel vision eyes and keep an eye out on your loved ones.
Not to seem like an extremist but "should be put down"?!?!? Really "nature lover"? I think "relocated" would be the correct response to avoiding a threat to humans that we caused in the first place...
+Alex Young Yeah "relocate" that animal to where I live. Thanks for nothing. We have an incredible number of coyotes already. For decades I've been hearing packs of them running at night. Yesterday morning there were 2 in my yard digging up moles. I have 2 cats and a dog. I wonder how long it will be before those coyotes decide my pets will make a decent meal. Most of the time my animals are in the house but not always. This is the country. They go outside when nature calls if you get my drift.
Well were else are we going to relocate them if we can't put them in your backyard?!? What makes you think that this is where animal control would bring them? By the way if you have pets and live in an area with wildlife It's certainly YOU who decided to move there, YOU who came second, and YOU who should be in charge of keeping your pets safe.
Sacko Just because it's tail is tucked doesn't mean its rabid, in fact it would have attacked much earlier had it been rabid. Any dogs tuck their tails while stalking, hunting or situations where they are timid.
Great video of how brazen some of these coyotes are Bruce! I've lost over a dozen cats over a ten year period to them... always in May and the beginning of august... One coyote came out of my barn one night... after trying to attack another one of my cats, but failed do to the dogs... They are sneaky persistent buggers...that is for sure!
I applaud the presenter for breaking off filming to go to the woman's aid if necessary. I would suggest, though, that calling the police or animal control would have been a good idea, as this coyote is clearly in the habit of stalking pets and is not at all intimidated by proximity to humans...
"Bad idea... walk across the street." Showing fear is the last thing you want to do in that situation. That only encourages the coyote to hang around the neighborhood and wait for opportunities (including children). The best thing to do is not wait to be attacked, but go after the coyote (without abandoning the dog). Including screaming at it, and beating the coyote upside the fucking head if it gets within range, which it probably wouldn't, if faced with a person who was angry and strong enough to do something about it. If the dog is aggressive and willing to back up its owner, that's even better, especially if it's under voice control and can be called back if it takes off after the coyote (to avoid a possible ambush, etc). If every adult who saw it went after it, instead of being cowards, and let the coyote know they were intent on injuring it, that would be the best chance of driving this coyote out of the neighborhood and back to the wild so it wouldn't have to be shot. No offense, but standing there filming it from a distance didn't help the woman, and it didn't do anything to get rid of the coyote either. Dogs/coyotes aren't stupid, and if people are more afraid of them than vice versa, it only makes them bolder and encourages what we're seeing here. She had more balls than you do, grow a set!! A single coyote cannot kill an able bodied man, he should be more afraid of you than you are of him!!
WTF! Are you drunk? Can't you hold the camera still? Especially at 3:20. Call animal control or the police before it attacks. Animal control will catch, possibly microchip him, and release 50+ miles away, in the country where it is far less likely to bother people.
+Garrett Nicholson Not country, like a nation, you fucking moron. Country like "out in the country." That word has dual meaning, you uneducated twit. Incredible!
"I'm a nature lover but this animal should be put down, he's a threat..." is the reason why your video has so many dislikes. The coyote is curious and hungry, and it's a cruel world to live in for him, whereas we humans have everything given to us. He shouldn't be killed for trying to survive, he's not stalking and hunting just for kicks, like humans do. WE ARE the threats, and if you have an issue with 1 coyote, then call someone to move him out into the wild somewhere else to survive.
This video should be titled "Coyote does absolutely not a damn thing. Watches lady go by and flinches at cars. The end."
Yeah not to mention the ten foot fence separating them
Exactly Sherri! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Small dogs should never be let out in the back yard unattended, even if the yard is fenced. That won't stop a coyote.
More then likely people are feeding him once in awhile. That's why he's not afraid like a normal Coyote
Stay calm. Never run. Then release the Roadrunner and it will take care of the coyote. Avoid giving the coyote any packages from ACME Corp.
"..This coyote should be put down" - How about just tranquillised, checked over and moved far away from the area? Why is killing absolutely everything in sight the first thing that comes to mind for some people?

I once saw a coyote trotting across my pasture. He ran up to a neighbor's dog, and they rubbed noses. Then he trotted off into the woods.
Something is off when a coyote is out in open daylight. Very comfortable around humans??
That coyote is very well fed. Nothing skinny about it.
Fear not the coyotes...be more aware of the two-legged beasts that reside in this city.
Seemed more curious than aggressive
So would you step in and help stop it if it did attack or would you just stand there and film it?
I live in the country and sit outside in the pasture at night and listen to them yip. They are 3 packs on 3 side of my place they have never bothered me- but its like surround sound. I love to listen to them. Throw in some owls and bulls in the back ground. Music to my ears

Well if you had actually watched the video for more than a few seconds you would have seen that the woman was very well aware of the coyote and the man did stop filming in order to go to her aid.
As many others have pointed out, you were in no danger at any point during that interaction. Curiosity does not equal aggression.
The coyote should be caught and released somewhere away from a city...not automatically put down
That dog is not too big for a Coyote to take. I live on Cape Cod and a white Alaskan dog was taken by Coyotes. You never know when the rest of the pack is lurking.
I have raised coyotes; this one was not after either lady or dog; just was curious

That's the tamest Coyote I've ever seen.
The coyote isn't "stalking," it's being a coyote.
this coyote is curious, not dangerous. his ears are up, his tail is down.

That coyote had been eating good
I saw a video on coyote behaviour today. It said that they're hard-wired to consider dogs, especially those of similar size, as competitors to their territory so they have a lot of animosity toward them. They drive off or kill foxes and intruding coyotes when they encounter them just like wolves do to coyotes.
That is a rather husky looking coyote. I wonder if it is a coy-dog, which seems to be generally bolder and braver than pure coyotes.
Carlos Peralta Carlos,,Carry a strong pellet gun when coyotes are nearby..dont be a victim..
+CFITOMAHAWK2 Carry an actual gun. A pellet gun is likely just going to make the coyote mad. They aren't easily driven away by such things.
+Carlos Peralta I seen three full grown coyotes the other day crossing a road together.
And this is what happens with over development of forest and wilderness. We destroy their homes and they invade ours😞
exactly.. can't blame the wild creature it's doing what it has to do..
Randi Graves get over it
No this is what happens when an animal has nothing to keep it in check. These are opportunistic creatures looking for the easy meal. Fifi the cat and Poofy the pomeranian are on the menu!!
Our backyard is their front yard
some idiot could have been feeding it. It may be looking for a handout.
+Robert
Anderson
It definitely had mange, but you may be correct about some idiot feeding the
coyote. People think they are doing something good when feeding wild animals,
when in fact that is the last thing they should do. When a wild animal
associates people with food the end result is NEVER good. Many of the wildlife
conflicts I am called to solve start off because of some uneducated idiot feeds
the animal. Many times the only action I can take to protect the public is to
put the animal down (breaks my heart most of the time).
+Nightshade C. Blackheart behold the kook, everyone.
behold the idiotic waste of space everyone
People CANNOT STARE DOWN A COYOTE & SCARE IT AWAY !!!
MAKE NOISE, JUMP AROUND, WAVE YOUR ARMS !!!! WHOOP & HOLLER !!
Thank you Bruce for showing this !! Now going to Part 2.
+lee cal I
haze them, by staring them down and stalking them like a predator when they den
under someone's deck etc... I dig at the den site getting as much of my scent in
the area as possible, than turn on a caller with pups in distress. I wait for
mom and dad to come running, than chase and stalk them for about 10-15 min. So
far 100% success rate with only one service call. I am also armed at the time,
and know how to read wild animals. I would not suggest this technique to anyone
who does not have experience with wild predators. Never try this with raccoons:)
they will attack.....
Looks like an extremely tame and well fed coyote that is curious about a dog.
+toeknee da'man Wrong. That coyote was looking for lunch. You should really get out of the city for a while and see the real world.
In for the attack! Get real, he was just curious
Mike Lincoln If the Dog was alone, off leash, not paying attention, etc. the coyote would have gone in for a bit of lunch.
You should always haze coyotes when you see them in neighborhoods. It saves both coyote and house pet lives.
"Coyote disappeared after media pick up the story."
Coyotes read the papers and watch the news?
With all of this new development, and loss of forestry here in Burnaby over the last few years, I haven't seen one wandering the streets. Last time I saw one was 2 years ago walking directly up the middle of my street mid day, and a week later I saw him again a couple of km's away eating trash just 20 feet away from people waiting for the bus at Gilmore Station.
Great footage. Thanks for sharing
Jesus, I saw him rigging the ACME rocket sled behind that tree! Run humans, run!!
Real threat or not, waiting on a possible attack from an animal, before any action is taken is bizarre.
+Barbie Scott They can't breed with foxes. Nearly all of them have some wolf and dog DNA.
It wanted the dog, not the lady.
no shit
+xNBKxBurrito He was referring to the misleading title of this video dipshit.
Coyotes don't attack humans. THEY LIVE SIDE BY SIDE WITH US AND THERE ARE ONLY A FEW RECORDED ATTACKS.
Coyote only present a threat in numbers, on their own they'll typically bolt unless defending their young.
singletrack29349 Watch the video I've linked to showing coyotes attacking people and that's one coyote at a time.
He isn't stalking . He is curious
Old lady, the coyote's after you.
Old lady, if he catches you you're through.
No ATTACK! it was just curious!
That's what happens when clean out the habitat where the Coyote lives.
Thank goodness u stopped and helepd the lady
Watching this guy hold a camera is making me dizzy.
The coyote is sick. Look at the hairloss on the tail and the matted fur on the neck. Animal control should be called. Its only being bold because its starving and not 100%.
That coyote looks well fed.
We have coyotes in my neighborhood, I live in the woods. That coyote was not looking to harm or kill.
I see you were alot of help... NOT!
What happened after the "oh no" at the end??!!!?????!!!!!??
That looks like a Shiba with the lady. Not an easy meal for that coyote, that's for sure.
yes blame the coyote, blame wildlife for our encroachment into their habitat, for fucks sake!
Coyote: **acting cute in the grass**
Coyote: **wait, I smell people**
Coyote: **Wonder what they smell like**
I worked nights and used to come home in the early morning hours anywhere between 1am to 4am.
He is not stalking people, he is watching. The animal does not need to be "put down." Coyotes are very curious.
Yawn. Hyperbole. When does the stalk and attack happen? Just looked like a curious coyote.
Really....could warn the lady..he dont need to be put down....need to be relocated....he's just hungry
that's a Eastern CoyWolf a true coyote would never act like this in the open.
a coyote can easily kill a dog thats the same size as it. that dog would have easily been taken by the coyote
Vancouver's hockey hooligans are more dangerous than the coyotes... they're still creeping around Vancouver too.
LOL!
As soon as he stepped through the fence, the squirrel alarm went out.
we have infringed on their land... it's dishearting...though it's a reality a lot of areas and neighborhoods live with ... build build build. the more we build the more this happens
Mensa Reject so damn true
He ain't stalking the lady. That coyo was after the dog. And yes that coyo will eat that dog in a sec
great view of the grass and the trees
He needs to be re-located to the wild like a bear - not murdered.
HiSpeedDrifter agree.
HiSpeedDrifter yeah, he can go next to my bear rug in front of the fireplace.
You would also be an insult to vaginas
HiSpeedDrifter it has MANGE.
tony manbeck just like your sister
Not to seem like an extremist but "should be put down"?!?!? Really "nature lover"? I think "relocated" would be the correct response to avoiding a threat to humans that we caused in the first place...
+Alex Young yeah and spread the mange disease it has. Kook.
I have .22 reasons why this coyote needs to develop a healthy fear of humans.
Why would you stop filming??????
Russell Brauer To help the Lady.
Bruce Causier she didn't stand a chance on her own.
Russell Brauer The coyote is rabid, just look at it's tail!
Sacko Just because it's tail is tucked doesn't mean its rabid, in fact it would have attacked much earlier had it been rabid. Any dogs tuck their tails while stalking, hunting or situations where they are timid.
Bruce Causier Aww thats nice! Way to go. :)
That coyote better be careful. That was an Asian lady. That coyote might end up being cooked for dinner.
I applaud the presenter for breaking off filming to go to the woman's aid if necessary. I would suggest, though, that calling the police or animal control would have been a good idea, as this coyote is clearly in the habit of stalking pets and is not at all intimidated by proximity to humans...
Great film I've onlh seen the aftermath of coyote work. Do you think people know it is a coyote and not a big dog?
+1
Lol 50miles into another country
+alan30189 no they'll murder it
+Garrett Nicholson
Not country, like a nation, you fucking moron. Country like "out in the country."
That word has dual meaning, you uneducated twit. Incredible!
+Nightshade C. Blackheart good.
Why is this guy just watching? Do something besides point a camera at it.
