Last Sighting of E21 in Nest Area (April 29, 2023)

At the time this video was uploaded, E21 has not been seen by the camera operators, visitors, or photographers since departing on 4/29/2023. At 115 days old, it is normal behavior for the Eagles to depart the nest area for their next journey as a yound adult eagle. We pray you are flying high & free E21.

21 seems like where they're at is HOME❤
I'm still telling myself, and halfway believing E21will be back again for a few days. That way I can forestall my tears, and not yet go into the inevitable annual loss mode (amplified by the loss of our beloved Harriet). My strategy of delay means I can have hope that darling E22 will not continue to call out for his/ her dear sibling, which breaks my heart!

Is 21 calling out for 22 or for his dad for another meal perhaps or to check in.
Some heartstrings are tougher to release for human and for animals. Take care 🙂 🙏
It was the younger E22 who was calling for his big sister E21. Also, as usual, he was screeching for M15, his "Daddy Dash" foodman, impatient for delivery of the day's food. 😊

After all the many years I've spent watching eagle families raise their young, this is the one season that will remain with me forever... Watching this heroic Dad do everything in his power to help keep his babies alive was like nothing I'd seen before. Thank you to all who made viewing this event possible.

We won't see E-21 again. She's off on her new life. Even though none of us have seen her hunt! :(

@@Faxinating but they can't leave until M-15 teaches them to hunt! I worry so much! These are Harriets last. I want to see them hunt before they leave for good!
@@Patti1actually they don't teach them to hunt.. the eaglets watch of course but from what I've read they live on carrion for the first year on their own.. I too thought they were taught to hunt initially
So many emotions seeing E21 fly to her new home, where ever that may be. M15 beat the odds of raising his 2 eaglets to become the eagles they were meant to be. I am positive mom Harriet is watching her young from above. Its been such an honor to watch Harriiet and her babies. E21 you are a blessing to us all. God speed young one.

Thanks for the ground view- I watched E21 flying from the pond cam. Liked the way she circled the nest tree. You could hear her squeeing on the cams as she flew as if to say "Here I come world, but I'll be back. Love you Mom, Dad, and E22 "
There is a custom in various cultures: one sits down one last time at home before finally leaving. I think E21 did that here. God bless this wonderful being.

I can't help but get emotional. Tears stream down my cheeks for this amazing moment. I think of a song from church "On Eagles Wings" which also makes me emotional. I wish people were more like eagles. The parenting and love shown to the eaglets is awe inspiring. Thank you. I will save this video.

It is always difficult to see the eagles leave the area to start a new life. As humans, we can't imagine not seeing our children again but it is their way. E22 will go soon too. I just hope they will be ok and find their way safely.
And then if they do return, it's usually not a very nice welcome. LOL
I always get a little sad when I see a juvie come back. There's no way to know if it was their old nest without being banded.

I don't think she left the area....all the others flew higher and higher in a huge circle until you couldn't see them anymore...she didn't , I think she's still in the area.

It's too soon for E21 to leave. Fledgling usually stay around the nest for a few months. I trust that M15 knows where 21 is

Amen to that!! I‘m a bit concerned about M15 with a new mate…..I will have a hard time accepting someone new! Harriet was the epitome of an eagle mother, for me the best eagle mother in the world! She always was my favorite (together with M15 of course)…..I‘m not sure yet how I will react to some new female…..may M15 choose well, but get a good rest first before the new season!! 🙏🏼❤️

I wish theSWFC Eagles were tagged. This way we could identify them if they come back home ❤
Tagging isn't always the greatest. I've seen tags get caught on barbed wire, I've seen foreign objects caught on tags and tighten them to where the bird's leg even became infected and fell off because the circulation was caught off. I'd rather not satisfy my curiosity for the birds' sake.
I hope E22 keeps his signature squee so we know it's him 🦅
