Hearing Kainé Salvation for the first time! EMOTIONAL! NieR Music Reaction!

- One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard! I listened to Kainé Salvation today for the very first time from the NieR series and I was in total shock by the amount of emotion that could be depicted through a language nobody understands. It was truly a pleasure and bright spot in my day.

All of Niers sound track is just perfection.
The idea behind "chaos language" was that Yoko Taro (Nier creator) didn't want the background music to have a recognizable language that could distract from the gameplay. So the composer Keiichi Okabe came up with the songs and for most of them instructed the vocalist Emi Evans what language to base the lyrics on and some of the context of the music in game. For this song Kaine/Salvation Emi was asked to base it on Gaelic. Here are the lyrics:

I never played a game of the NieR series but I know this song very well from FFXIV. Nier and FF XIV had a crossover in the Add On "Shadowbringer" with the alliance raid and a whole story around it.
It remembers me of my older sister that died around that time. I didn't know her but it still hurt and this song has for me a bitter sweet tone. I tear up every time when I hear it 🥲

I am fine today since her death is now... around 2 years ago. But sometimes, especially when hearing music, the memories come back. But that's okay so I wont forget that she lived :)
Kaine Salvation is one of the hardest hitting songs and most emotionally charged, I've heard in media.
I highly recommend listening to Fleeting Words / Family, Emil / Sacrifice, and Shadowlord ver 1.22. Shadowlord is one of my favorite OSTs of all time, such an emotional track. Also Vague Hope (Cold Rain) from NieR Automata, and Inori from NieR Reincarnation are really good too. Inori is underrated tbh.
Drakengard / NieR series has gotta be my favorite gaming franchise of all time tbh.

Kaine is a character in NieR, this is her theme. The composer is Keiichi Okabe, the singer is Emi Evans
NieR's music really is incredible.
Also, I'd really like to suggest Weight of the World/the End of YoRHa version. It's by far my favorite.

Weight of the World comes in multiple versions, The End of YoRHa combines them into one
nier songs in general are just amazing, like people in the commentsection already mentions some of the songs. i agree with every pick. very emotionall and even fylosophicall games
There's Grandma and Grandma Destruction, Possessed by disease, Bipolar Nightmare, Mourning, Song of the Ancients, The Sound of the End, Emil Sacrifice etc.
I second Grandma and Destruction...honestly just one of the best songs of all time.
I highly recommend listening to the FFXIV variant, called "Kainé (Final Fantasy Main Theme Version)" , maybe in private or not since it would be redundant to this one...but...the chills.

If this struck a chord with you, I would wholeheartedly recommend listening to "Emil (Ultimatum)". Searching that, the top result on TH-cam should have all versions compiled into a lengthy but beautiful ensemble.
Kainé's song is sad - but poor Emil, his is tragedy given voice.
E: to clarify, "Ultimatum" is not an actual version of the song - it's the name of the compilation. The song's actual versions are "Emil - Sacrifice", "Emil - Karma" and "Emil - Despair", in the same way that "Kainé - Salvation" is titled.

The funny thing is you did pronounce the name Kaine right (most get it wrong and say Kain). What you got wrong is the song name. The song is Kaine - Salvation.
Kaine is the Deuteragonist of the game, she plays a major role in the events of the storg.
Theres a FF14 remix of this song for their NieR crossover they did, but most of the videos will likely have boss spoilers in it. If you can get one without the fight then its worth listening to.
