- Although it is a hybrid of the DJI Mini 2 and DJI Mini SE, is the DJI Mini 2 SE the next king of beginner drones? To answer that question, I compare the recently released Mini 2 SE with the Mini 2 and Mini SE. In this video, I demonstrate the Mini 2 SE's 10KM range, 2.7K video, 12MP RAW images, wind resistance, battery life, and everything else you should know about this drone before purchasing.

I watched all the videos, went through the drone academy stuff on DJI and was super careful, I thought, but one small move the wrong way and I hit the only small branch twig around and down she came. Less the 5 min in air. lol. Glad I got the care plan to get it fixed but next flights are all going to be way out in the country in a farmers field with nothing to remotely snag till I learn more. But it was fun while it lasted.

In the mean time it might be worth it to fly those cheap $20/$30 Chinese knockoff drones. They are less stable than a dji but they could be good practise their cameras are horrible though.

Is it an improvement from the mini se??.. because it still maintain the 2.7k resolution but, has improved from wifi range to ocusync...is there still the latest update for the mini se in the future??
This new drone has raw image capabilities and a better range/more reliable transmission.

If you are just a new drone user i would say the se is more worth it than the 2se
In a logical sense it makes no sense DJI upgrading the Mini to this when they have the Mini 2 with everything this has plus 4k. Basically it's about making more profit and getting rid of the Mini 2 and then you need to pay even more money to step up to the Mini 3. I hope I'm wrong about the Mini 2.
I hope that they keep the Mini 2 and discontinue the Mini SE.

I have it and I mostly like it except it sounds annoying And it's really small and difficult to do numerous things with the drone. To be fair they did name it mini which it definitely feels like on the fingers

My first drone was a knock off one. But i enjoyed the "sportiness" of it while just flying it within visible range. Seems the DJI drones are strictly for photography, which sure seems cool but are they pretty agile and "sporty"?
Yes, they can be agile and sporty. You can put them in sports mode and enable the FPV mode.

Yes, depending on what version of the drone you get will depend on the range of the unit. You would have to look for the relevant details from the store you’re buying from.
How do you get the 4x zoom? I just got one, flown it once, checked all the features, but it only has 1x and 2x zoom… don’t know if you need to be in pro mode or no…
The 4x zoom is only in 1080p.

The Mini 3 will be fine on its own. The battery life can be nearly 50 minutes if you get the plus batteries.
Start with the initial 2 then go up once you get good at it

Do you need operator ID to fly this in UK?
No it is 249grams which is 1 gram less that you having to need a license in the uk, it is made like that in purpose

You do not need a license to fly a drone under 250g, but you will need to register for an operator ID if the drone is equipped with a camera. ( in the UK )
Why not get the mini 2?
The Mini 2 is hard to get now, if you can get one then it is the better option 👌
Regretting buying this here in the UK. Managed to get out for about an hour on boxing day but since I bought this drone it's done nothing but rain and we are having some seriously windy weather and the weather forecast seems to look good one minute but changes in a blink to showing really bad weather. I'm beginning to wonder if I wasted my money.
It’s not your fault, weather always changes unexpectedly.
Please do not panic, it’s not a waste of money because it can handle strong wind.
It can also take stunning photos and videos.

reply to this comment, I've been thinking about buying a dji mini se 2 and I'm wondering about two things, how can I take pictures vertically and in one Finnish online store I read in the additional information that the dji mini se 2 can be used with wifi. Does that mean I can also use mobile data?
You would have to use a third party app/editing software to crop the video to a vertical video. You can connect your phone to the controller and then the controller will be able to connect to satellites for flight. You don’t need data on your phone to fly. You will realistically get 25 minutes of safe flight time.

Also, if the sensor is the same, why not 4k?
Camera focusing allows 4K not sensor the sensor just adjust light exposure so it’s not dark or super bright
They might have placed a software limitation on the Mini 2 SE to make the 4K mini drones like the Mini 3 series more appealing for the higher end market.
maybe the processor cant handle it or software limit. usually 4k isnt about software and megapixels, but because of cpu limitations

From what I recall on the SEs, they make use of a regressed/inferior wireless connectivity, lower resolution in video recording! But Dan presents it as if there's 'no difference' between this an their OG counterparts - which is a lie! There's always a trade-off to bring you lower pricing! It's economics 101! No free lunch here! Dan come clean on this presentation, it's very misleading!

That’s cheap for a reliable drone like the Mini 2 SE.
I just got mine and it seems to have difficulty pairing with the iPhone 15 pro. It says: “ Cannot use accessory uses too much power.” Not sure if it is a compatibility or other type of issue.
Weird, maybe try updating the firmware via your computer using DJI assistant and then try a different cable to connect your phone to the controller.

Mini 2 has optical zoom (no loss of quality) the se has digital zoom, basically cropping in on the image, results in loss of quality

Good question, I actually don’t know. A quick Google search would reveal the answer 🔍
@@DansTubeTV actually it’s not showing up on the declaration of compliance on the FAA website. But the mini 3 and mini 3 pro is compliant. Just curious because they are saying that the mini series doesn’t have to have the remote ID because they don’t have to be registered. But eventually I believe that will change and they all will have to be compliant. And if that’s the case then the smallest remote ID device that you can buy weighs 16 grams. So then it would need to be registered. So just curious if it was. It would tell you upon start up where it says safe to fly. I figured since it was a new product it has not had time to be added to the FAA website if it is compliant. I’ll probably order it soon i have the mini 2 and 3 and 3 pro i am trying to collect all of them lol

Брехня полная. Нет там 31 минуты максимум 25, а менять акум между SE и mini 2 вообще не стоит. Это можно делать, но только в крайних случаях, так как это сильно уменьшает ресурс батареи.
They literally took the Mini SE and slapped a 2 on it. Just leave it called the Mini SE.

Actually one big difference is the se 2 has ouculis 2 transmission system like the mini 2 did as the mini se was only wifi transmission so you get 6mile control instead of the 390ft on the mini se
