i have Canon EOS 700D.. followed your steps with usb micro to pc connection, but all i see is eos logo in webcam page and no capture.. tried other different methods yet can''t deliver live capture in webcam app. tried with obs, nvidia boardcast, windows cam app.. do i need to try hdmi cable or hdmi capture etc for it to work?

Question. I have the 5D Mark IV I got it working with Zoom finally (with the recent Canon webcam utility that was released) but my problem is, the auto focus won't work. I am using the camera to broadcast my daughter's 1st bday to our family back east. So I'll be moving it around and wont be stationary. (I have various lenses but will using the 24-105) So I'll be moving, zooming but when in the Zoom utility, it won't auto focus unless I do it manually. Any thoughts? I've tried all the focus settings on the camera but in Zoom, it doesn't focus. It works fine and auto focuses when I am not using it in Zoom (it even works in the canon remote utility) So I am guessing it could be something Zoom is doing or doesn't allow the camera to have all it's functions? Hey Mark - The webcam utility software is still in beta. I'd recommend try using The Canon Utility software and try their live preview which is just another way to see if live preview and test the auto focus there, make sure The auto focus on the lens is on and camera on video mode. Last I tried the auto focus worked with my T5i, I was using a 18-135 STM, Let me know if it works!

I was letting Zoom put the camera into live Mode/Movie mode (hearing the mirror click into the up position) without turning the selector switch on the camera. That's why the auto focus wasn't working !!! All you have to do is just turn the live mode/movie mode selector switch on camera either before you start a meeting or even after starting the meeting. So Zoom can still active the live mode/movie mode on the camera, but to get auto focus you have to turn the selector switch on the camera to live mode/movie mode. Then you also see the output on the back camera display and auto focus works !! :) Feel free to pass this on if anyone else has this problem.

Most canon dslrs are supported but the software is only claiming to work on certain, because they are not sure about it. But most Canon DSLRS that work with the canon utility software, should work with as well. with that all being said I haven't tested all of them
@@GivemChills I find the camera companies to not take this issue more seriously. Some people like me would like to use such ameras for industrial uses. So we need better better software support like LINUX interface and software, support for video streaming....etc. We also want control of camera from computer.
As of 2024, the Canon Rebel T5i is no longer supported through the Canon EOS Webcam Utility. You will be forced to upgrade your camera or find an alternative software solution.

Make sure your usb is recognized and make sure u don’t have canon utility installed

To use the hdmi output you will need a capture card to capture the feed but it works pretty well
