I think there are not such thing like "negative emotions". There are only emotions. Some are pleasant, some not. All of them are essential for us to live life.
V for Vendetta is my favourite movie for the philosophy, the emotional catharsis, the story-telling, and the warnings we're seeing in our governments in this modern day. Getting outside and even holding a door open or letting someone in off a side road when I drive helps keep me in the space of kindness which i think the world can always benefit from more of
Same, I absolutely love this move and somehow I feel it is more pertinent these days. There are so many interesting thoughts to consider in that film! Also love your reflection on kindness - it is a beautiful feeling we need to cultivate! Despite all the evil in the world - or perhaps even more so because of it - we need to spread kindness and goodness wherever we can!
Oh, I used to watch all of the saddest drama movies and listen to the saddest songs and cry when I felt blue. This helped a lot! It somehow unlocked my own emotions and let me deal with them by releasing them through crying. Kudos to you for volunteer work!❤
Somehow I feel like our bodies sometimes naturally know of ways to self-regulate. You do something, no idea why, and then you read why and it all makes sense! I hope you are doing well these days!
I am so happy to hear this - thank you so much for saying this :) I am not much of a comedian but would love to bring more joy and laughter into the personal development / selfcare narratives!
Thank you! Yes, it is nice to feel like something good or useful came out of a 'negative' emotion! and I really do feel a bit better once I have channeled that energy somewhere :D
Lol the "cleaning like it's a crime scene" reminds me of a video I posted a little while ago about how pretending to be a criminal is actually helpful for mental health! I love seeing that someone else thinks about this when living life haha. Also good video as always, I LOVE this channel!!
*I'm loving this new version of you, it's great to see how you're developing personally. It makes me very happy and joyful at the same time. I liked the yoga with the trap music, I do the same thing when I train boxing and I put on some songs with sad melodies* 😂😂😂 *Also, I liked the ear piercing. Daria, do you plan on putting more accessories on your ear? I was thinking about putting it on my ear as well hahaha.*
Oh thank you! I have had that piercing for long time, I just never wear big chunky earrings so no one sees it! For now I am ok but I do want to get a small tattoo one day :) maybe if I reach some big milestone or an achievement, to celebrate :)
I've noticed that stress and anxiety come from insufficient boundaries in my life. My ex-wife is extremely high conflict and when I don't enforce my boundaries I really let her get to me. My new wife is awesome. But she's driven by threat awareness and when I don't enforce boundaries with her I can feel like the sky is falling. But I grew up in an abusive home and I tend to feel guilty setting boundaries. So when I don't set boundaries I can spiral. But when I set boundaries I can spiral. I find that creativity unlocks my freedom. Video games, drawing, fantasy writing, video editing.
I am so happy you have your outlets. It’s not easy, overcoming difficult past. Someone very very close to me also grew up in an abusive home. I hope that you know that you deserve to always feel safe, and cared for. Even if others don’t give you that, you must make sure that you give yourself those feelings by taking good care of yourself. You deserve nothing but the best! I am also happy that your relationship now feels better.
i love how creative you are with getting across your videos message! on another topic: where are the PJs from that you wear during the cleaning scenes? ❤
Oh thank you oh so much!! It’s from Victoria Secret, I got it a few years ago! It’s not the most comfy though, I think it’s polyester which isn’t super breathable

As always it was a great helpful video. I love the calm vibes you bring to every video, it always relaxes my mind! Every topic seems well thought out, inspiring, and insightful ❤
Thank you, that means so much! Though honestly my life is so far from being calm and zen haha - actually the title 'Lost in Desperation' came from the joke that my husband makes that this would be a more fitting name for my channel :D but I am so glad I am able to help you feel better despite my actual real life messiness :D
@@lostinadmiration you are doing great!! Like you said in the video we all struggle and aren’t perfect. Being authentic is what makes your videos great!

I feel you - I am the same! I try to keep some balance in my Netflix/TH-cam content and reading: 50:50 ratio entertainment vs education :) Also, sometimes when I feel like it's too much, I just take a break! I made one short video about the whole experience of feeling like self-care / self improvement online is too much, if you'd like to have a look: th-cam.com/video/M4l9AwZYGQ0/w-d-xo.html and thank you so much for your kind words!!!
@@lostinadmirationyes, it's a cool thing, but be careful with its practical use, girls have some anatomical features and sleeping on the floor can even be harmful in some cases.
good to know! I will definitely read about it. One thing I did notice when camping was that after a week of cold showers (or no showers), coming home everything I used to take for granted suddenly felt like luxury (which it is in a way).
Loved the bubble wrap part 😅. No limits to your innovation 😮. Negative emotions like 'sorrow' should be expressed as cry. I understand that. But what about 'anger'? Should it also be expressed to avoid storage? because expression of anger on someone leads to regret at a later time and also harms the relationship.
I think we need to convey all emotions, otherwise they build up and are expressed anyway, just in a way that is not conscious / maturely handled. But it is important to have healthy outlets - for me things that help with anger are running (this time actually listening to some intense music, like rap or gaming soundtracks), boxing classes, writing my emotions, walking and listening to music.. things like this. I also sometimes call my best friend to have a vent session :D If you do not express it 'your way', which is managed, contained and healthy, I think it will somehow still make it into your life. My therapist described this feeling to being in a swimming pool and trying to hide a ball underwater - it's very draining and short-lived.
@@lostinadmiration Thanks a lot Daria for explaining so elaborately about ways of conscious expression of anger. This had been a long time unconscious dilemma for me and supression of anger by yoga was not working out well. Thanks 😊
