Actually, scratch ladder match. Elimination chamber would be better. It starts with Robb and Joffrey out of the pods, and Robb is absolutely butt fucking Joffrey, not being particularly bothered about pinning. The countdown runs out, and Dany's pod is spotlit, but a mechanical error keeps it locked for the duration of the match. More beatdown. The spotlight lands on Balon's pod and he takes out Robb. Joffrey runs for cover. Tbc

@@ethanquirk28 that tells me all you know about the Thenns is from the show because in the books the Thenns are one of the most civilized tribes beyond the wall and behave more like those south of the wall than their fellow freefolk. They even serve a Magnar (which in the old tongue means lord) and their Magnars are hereditary simalarly to the lords in the south, it is true they still use bronze weapons and speak the old tongue but they’re not cannibals and in the book Sigorn, the current Magnar of Thenn, marries Alys Karstark and forms house Thenn of Karhold so the Thenns are anything but savages.

True, but the Watch is still technically part of the North, as it defends Westeros. It's kind of a neutral zone that doesn't partake in Westerosi politics, yet is still dependent on the houses of the North. In the books they say that joining the Night's Watch used to be considered a massive honor, since they actively protected all of Westeros; but in recent times has become more or a penal colony since the white walkers haven't been a problem for so many years.

And the Boltons don't betray the Starks if everyone knows Bran and Rickon are alive, them being "dead" was the biggest reason Roose betrayed the Starks. No Starks to rally to, then usurping is much easier

There are a number of problems with what is known about the North. First, GRRM has said that Westeros is "as large as South America". This would mean that the Lands beyond the Wall, the North and the Kingdoms south of the Neck would each be around 1.3 million sq.miles. On the other hand, in the TV series, Roose Bolton, standing outside Winterfell, tells Ramsey that the Wall is 700 miles away to the north, 700 miles to the Neck, 400 miles to the west and 300 miles to the east, so that would make the North around 840,000 square miles. In both cases, given the medieval level of technology of ATOIAF, it is 24-70 days travel from Winterfell to the Wall or to the Neck in Roose Bolton's eyes and farther if GRRM's analogy is true. This makes the traveling distance from King's Landing from 48-140 days travel, depending on whether ox cart, slow walk or a brisk ride that wouldn't kill the horse.
Next, in Season 7, John Snow tells Tyrion that there are less than a million people in the North. While GRRM has a major input to the show runners, they could have done the Roose Bolton and Jon Snow's comments on their own. There is no way a feudal society could be maintained in a land with a population density less than 4 per square mile. Medieval Sweden in 1300 CE had a population density of 4.6 and Scotland had a density greater than ten. With less than a million people in the North, it would look like Inuit or Laplander societies, which is what the Wildlings above the wall are modeled on. Going back in time, given the average of 2 to 3% of a society's population engaging in major battles like Agincourt or Poitiers or Bannockburn and others in the High Middle Ages, King Toren's army must have been supported by a population of at least 2.5 to 3 million, some three hundred years before. Even if the winters had controlled the increase in population, which is not historically supported, and if 33% of the population died in the War of the Five Kings, a number which cannot be supported by the events of the books or shows, there had to be at least 3 million people in the North to build, sustain and maintain Winterfell, Dreadfort, Last Hearth, White Harbor and others. In fact, White Harbor is said to be the fifth most populous city in Westeros. With a population density like southern Sweden, the North would have over four million people, while at the level of Scotland, over 10 million. Westeros itself all togther would have somewhere between 55 and 100 million.

Ive been thinking if the others/white walkers are the reason for the fucked up weather which seems to be a high possibility and if with their defeat comes normal weather cycles like on earth then the North would inevitably become too powerful due to a population explosion to remain a part of the seven kingdoms because of its size also all that land beyond the wall was likely habitable and fit for farming at one point and its also been depopulated for the most part so it stands to reason the north would just become to powerful to not be independent
