I started buying Morgans for a while, and then stopped when I realized I didn't have a plan or enough knowledge on them. So much to learn, so thanks for putting together a nice video to point out some of the things you look for on these beautiful coins!
Thanks WB 😊yeah definitely have to be some what educated not granted I’m also not the best with numismatics but I know what to search before making that purchase
I'm working on a stack of 20 B-UC Morgans. When I'm done with that, I want a couple of CC Morgan's. I have over 300oz in the safe, so I'm getting what I like now.
In the last 3 years I have bought a bunch of 90% silver...glad I did as it is rising and will rise faster than 999 fine. It's the most recognizable silver out there and its beautiful! I love it all, but my favorite is the 1964 JFK halves...get it while you can!
90% makes up id say at least 40% of my silver stack, love junk silver. Exactly tho there won’t be much soon or it will be so expensive on premiums that people won’t have the money for , and same goes to pre 33 gold 👊🏻
I got my first morgan as a gift from my grandfather years ago and so the other day I bought 3 more because theyre a very interesting coin I like or the new orleans mint is apparently a meuseum now so there is so much history built into them. They came out after the civil war and then before ww1 they stopped and then they made them one more year after. They made a lot but many were destroyed melted etc. Or theyre worn down. And when you break them dowm by years and mints there actually isnt all that many of even the larger runs. Tbe runs of 100k 400k coins are unaffordable but for someone like me who cant afford gold they are good coins because they are 77% silver but becsuse of the historical relavence and the want and not being in mint anymore, they cost more, but arent unaffordable like a buffalo ounce.
American eagles are good for business transactions I think. For when you want to pay a guy one or 2 or more. Morgans are good in terms of actual investment I think. Better now than than ever.
Cool content , I like the Morgan's design , but i like them more when they are clean and cheap so i get the rounds instead. To be honest the tone i don't mind , some can be cool I got a few myself buy lately i favor the rounds instead , they are cheaper and pure silver. I'm a bit of both but lean towards the stacking and accumulating more with a decent portion of govt minted and numismatics in the stack. You have to pick your poison , i feel like the premiums on eagles are toxic enough lol
I’m with you I myself is mostly a stacker I love my 10oz, kilo bars and govt coins as well my 90% . I do treat myself and buy high grade Morgan’s and vintage silver from tkme to time .
those are pretty morgans....i have a few (cull) morgans , ive never paid over 35 bucks for....i want a CC morgan but waiting to find a deal..and now after seeing your toned morgans imma look for a deal on a toned morgan now..GL!
I still buy the Morgans in Raw if the price is right and I do buy Slabbed Morgans I love to collect them too but for Raw the price has to be right too many cleaned ones roaming around people try to pass off as trouble free and want way to much for them.
It’s hard to bring myself to buy raw for the same reason you just mentioned but also the fact that it’s so expensive now for raw so I’ll just pay the extra for Mint state Morgan’s 😎👊🏻🇺🇸
@@MAGASTACKER I just grabbed a roll of them in XF Raw for $25 per so that price I won't get hurt they want $33 for Culls in My area and these are not bad.
I buy two Morgan's every month and actually bought four Morgan's last month. And I'm not a Collector. You can tell I'm not a Collector because I've cleaned somewhere around one hundred Morgan's. I have no rules.
@@HistoricMetals Before I explain to you how you are probably wrong. Go watch my last video cleaning a "LOW GRADE" Morgan. Some Morgan's are already devalued so much cleaning then does not change the value at all. Read the comment! I am not a Collector and do not have the same values as Collectors do. @@TobaccoRowe1960 nope it's you that's wrong. Does the pinger work on all silver coins and rounds?
Yes pretty much but works best on 1oz -2oz coins , anything bigger it really doesn’t work well. It’s meant for coins
That 83-O is great! Do you what to sell it?
Great information!

As a beginner is it better to stack graded or non graded Morgan’s?
Graded. Less chance of buying fakes until you learn to recognize them.
I think Morgan's are a great investment if you don't buy the commons. Otherwise they hold a little premium.
