    You can also calculate these using a bend angle of your choosing which is useful when you have multiple conduits and want to match all of the kicks. Downside is that you need to have marks on your conduit bender for the center of whatever bend you're using

    • @lilbandit99
      @lilbandit99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or you can you the “Take-Off” formula. It is (TAN(1/2 x Bend Angle)) x Radius. This formula allows you to make a center line bend based on your radius, the only mark you need to know on your benders is where the bend/arch starts. For instance, any 90° centerline bend is exactly what the radius is. So if I have a 4-1/2” Centerline Radius bender, from my centerline mark on my conduit/tube, I simply go back 4-1/2” and make my mark that starts the bend.

    Another great video! I have a question if it is a large kick. For example, let's say that j- box is on the end of the ledge above the one in the video. Would you have to figure what angle you need and then do a shrink calculation to adjust your mark accordingly? Thanks again for the great content!

    Thanks, Bill! Another quick question: In this specific installed conduit, is there a code requirement for a conduit clamp within X inches of the box? You would think having a gap between the conduit and wall over an approx 2-foot run with bend, and only being supported by the box fitting, would be a code issue. ??

    • @andrewtibbetts9181
      @andrewtibbetts9181 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The code requirement for the EMT conduit in this video is that it needs to be secured within 3 feet of the box
