    I think ‘The Dynasty’ falls short of being a true documentary. OK, so they did not edit individual interviews (ostensibly) but they left other interviews in their entirety. And why did they spend a whole episode about Aaron Hernandez!? Truly a tragedy, but it had little to do with the building or sustaining of the dynasty. Again, it falls short of being a legit ‘documentary’ albeit an interesting and entertaining presentation.

    I like Curran but he's wrong the Patriots don't need to be looking for another Brady, if you go looking for another Brady you'll be looking forever. What they need right now is another Drew Bledsoe or a Jordan Love someone whose good enough to help you compete so they can put the necessary pieces around them to win at least one SB and contend for many more. The Patriots will most likely never get another Qb who could win with average to below average weapons on offense. If Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye is available and the staff believes with the right tools around them they can have a All Pro caliber career then you draft them. The team should've did the right thing and bottomed out for Caleb but that's a discussion for another day.

    As far as I am concerned, there is a simple answer to "was it Brady or Belichick?" It was both - and here's why - without Belichick, there IS no Brady. What every teammate, every coach, every fan, and every writer wanted when Bledsoe got healthy in "01 was Bledsoe! Bill chose Brady. Then he developed Brady. Then he coached them to 3 wins in 4 years. Hey Bills & Cowboys - when you got Bledsoe - how'd that work out for you? Bill's personality is his downfall, but saying he wasn't a great coach is just nonsense, and revisionist history.

      BB never lied about his coaching methods and his personality and most players who played there would say that.
      TB being drafted by a different team could have turn out bad or great in which we will never know because TB was surrounded by good OLs.
      Had TB12 been in a team with bad OLs and mediocre to good coaching, TB will probably be like Drew who waa a badly beaten dog physically and mentally.

That's sort of the not-so-secret secret to the whole thing: be a pretty decent team already with a somewhat stable coaching situation and another veteran option to start at QB that first year. And that's the problem with most really crappy teams is that everyone involved wants INSTANT results.

    Well I can see why Belichick would be bothered with the documentary because the mere existence of it, along with the book, is just another major indicator that the dynasty is OVER. And for a coach/GM that basically means that they failed, and after two decades of unprecedented success that's hard to swallow. I mean players get old and retire, that's just understood, and the owner is around as long as they feel like, but the coach is something different. And BB always prided himself on being ahead of Father Time and getting rid of guys early and plugging the hole and soldiering on and keeping the dynasty going. And he just couldn't do it anymore. He succeeded for 20 years and then he failed, and as an active coach and GM at the time trying to right the ship just having the documentary exist is like a bullhorn going "HEY, YOU FINALLY FAILED!" And BB ain't at the point in his life yet where he's going to sit back and just revel in the success and the good memories.

    • @googlechicken
      @googlechicken 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The documentary is basically a hit piece on Bill and an attempt to smear him and make it look like Kraft was the architect of everything. Notice how he says “ we had some tough decisions to make with Drew loosing his job to Brady but when it came to Brady leaving, it was “ that was Bills decision “ this is not a story of the Dynasty it’s a propaganda piece orchestrated by the Krafts.I can’t believe the level of revisionist history that goes on with Belichick. All I heard for Twenty years was “The Patriot Way” and Bill plays chess while the others are playing checkers”Bill always gets rid of guys a year early instead of a year late. now after six championships it’s Bill can’t draft and the games passed him by. And it was all Brady. In five years when the team still sucks and Kraft wants to have him in to make a big spectacle of putting him in the Pats hall of fame and try’s to take credit for that too, Belichick tells him to go fuck himself.

    • @razorbeard6970

      @@googlechicken To be clear: Belichick would have lost out and never got another head coaching job in 2001 if not for Brady coming in and doing such a good job as backup. With that success gave him more leverage that he used brilliantly for as long as he could as the Head Coach and GM....who Kraft went out on a limb and had to give up a high draft pick to acquire after what happened with the Jets.
      His success ran out and it was largely his own doing. Kraft let him phase himself out in many ways. The fact it was a dynasty at all is something Belichick can be proud of but it did not end on a good note and that's partially his own fault.

    Good. Guess he doesn't like the truth! I'm way late to this party but Belichick should never again be trusted with a HC position. He's borderline megalomaniacal, and a cancer in any position of authority. I would hire him as a DC with very minimal authority only. He's also a HUGE hypocrite. He expects EVERYONE ELSE to be accountable and team driven so, WHY ISN'T HE??!! It's abundantly clear that Belichick is a brilliant Narcissist. He's the best defensive and tactical mind the game has ever seen, but he has NO respect for offense and offensive players, and NO respect for the Owner that employs him. He has repeatedly undermined what was best for the team while claiming otherwise. Sitting Malcolm Butler in SB 52 threw ALL Players under the Bus! How was that best for the TEAM?! Players are human and all different. It's a HC duty to manage personalities and CREATE an atmosphere of SUCCESS for overall TEAM benefit! Ruining the starting QB consciously or unconsciously because he isn't "your guy" is Textbook NARCISSISM and absolutely NOT what is “BEST” for the TEAM! Belichick does what is best for his EGO! He may have cut his football teeth under Navy Athletics, and he may THINK he runs a team modeled on the military, but he does NOT! He FORGOT that EVERY serviceman swears an oath and is accountable to a higher authority! The Admiral or General, may not agree with or even respect The President, but it's their duty to their country to follow orders and to NEVER undermine or subvert “The Boss” or the MEN under their command. Belichick repeatedly undermined and subverted Kraft and the players. IMO, players were willing to endure the "Belichick Way" because they believed TB12 ensured a legitimate SB shot year after year. Yes, the defenses were equally important to the repeated success, but The GOAT was the GLUE that held it all together. When the glue dissolved, it unsurprisingly fell apart.
