I've enjoyed many of the homes featured, but I have a pet peeve and a suggestion. Whenever the homeowner points out an intricate design on a mirror, a cute or special piece of art, amazing woodwork, etc. the camera stays on the speaker's face. Please, please, please show us a close-up of the item. I am here primarily to see design. The homeowner is a special treat, but not at the expense of being unable to clearly see the item being described. Edit: spelling of primarily
YES to the nth degree!! I know Alison doesn’t film most of these anymore, but please coach your camera crews to do this!! It really takes away from the video to not see what the homeowner is talking about.
@@christinedelfino5322 I thought I was the only one that couldn't listen. It became so distracting that after 20 mins I turned to something else. It drove me crazy!
What a beautiful home. I loved the bathroom. Such a pretty color. I am so thankful for all these videos. I’m home a lot with a husband with MS and I have problems with arthritis. These videos make my day. I must admit I love the videos with beautiful homes. I love all the overly designed ones that some people complain about on here. They make me want to dream about living in a home just like that. Thanks so much again Homeworthy for all you do.
ME, TOO! I JUST LOVE BEING IN HOMES THAT SHOW THE CHARACTER AND LOVE OF THE PEOPLE AND HOW THEY LIKE TO DECORATE! SO FUN AND INTERESTING TO WATCH. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND.
I so love and enjoy the homeowners comments about their home and the stories behind their possessions. That’s what is so special about Homeworthy it’s a deep dive into the very essence of what makes a home ❤❤❤
OH!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY love her house…I live in Charlotte, NC and Myers Park is one of the Most Beautiful Areas in Charlotte..THE DRESS is a Whole Vibe By Itself 🥰
My sister is in the Charlotte area. I'm in Durham. I was definitely checking out the dress too lol. I was like...can you tell us where you bought the dress, did you make it...I got questions!!!
So after a long stressful week of work I plop down with a glass of wine hoping to find something to watch and Homeworthy comes through with a beautiful, southern, preppy, collected and colorful jewel box of a house. Thank you for this wonderful tour!
Lovely home and owner. Appreciate her style and the dress is to die for. I hope if she reads these comments, she ignores the few rude ones. People use filler words when they are nervous. We all do it. It’s no big deal. I just appreciate the fact that her filler word isn’t “like”. Haha! I live in the Charlotte area. I’m going to recommend this video to my friends. She’s a wonderful designer and adore her whimsical and elegant aesthetic.
@@ZDES178 I have some questions. Homeowners know in advance of filming. Practice prior to filming? All videos will be edited before publishing. I’m assuming homeowner will see a preview, is there an opportunity for a “do-over”? The speech pattern that bugs me the most is “up-talking”. Women in the business world take heed.
@@ZDES178 Very nicely put. I was SO looking forward to watching this video. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to 10 minutes in because I couldn't drown out or ignore the "umm"s. Instead of being able to focus on the content, I began to brace myself for the next "umm". I skipped through the rest of the vid hoping to catch a glimpse of the other rooms. I caught several "umm"s as I skipped through. Alexis is personable and seems like an upbeat and fun person to know. I like her design style. A little speech training or therapy, and even personal commitment and practice, could eliminate the distracting "umm"s and greatly improve her presentation. Learning to just pause without saying anything would also help. The reason that some of us are commenting on this is because we appreciate what Alexis is offering and we are wishing and praying for the best for her. It's like seeing a bra strap showing, a fly unzipped, spinach between someone's teeth or toothpaste beside someone's mouth. While others never say anything some of us choose to gently point it out. Often, speaking up in a kind and caring way can help a person tremendously. 🙏🏽💖 It is what I'd want someone to do for me. Thank you, Alexis, for sharing your beautiful home.
@@ZDES178 unfortunately, some people don’t know how to be polite and well mannered online. There’s nothing wrong with constructive criticism but being abrupt and rude shouldn’t be acceptable behavior. I get more annoyed by people saying “like” every other word which is a real issue (even with celebrities. 💕

Alexis! Beautiful home, fantastic art and so much creative talent. However, in the most sincere way; too many distracting “ums”- 44 “ums” in guest bath alone. I honestly would not hesitate to contract with you-absolutely love your talent, style and enthusiasm. Continued success to you Alexis!
This was a really gracious and kind way to give feedback. She needs to learn to pause and inhale through her nose calmly whilst searching for her words. The ums are so grating- like taking a bullet each time after the first 30 minutes.
To be invited to talk for over an hour over your passion project/livelihood is a dream opportunity. I can only imagine. But oh my goodness (and I do try to be positive in these comments) the ‘ums’ were overwhelming. I’ve started this video twice now and can’t get thru the first ten minutes, and it’s a shame because the work she’s done is so interesting. Hopefully in future, Homeworthy works with these hosts to iron out any distracting speaking tics (this host isn’t an exception).
Yes. Homeworthy could do everyone a favor with a little professional prep. In the meantime, I turn on the Closed Caption, press Mute, and enjoy. (Yes, the “um’s” are in the Closed Captions, but seem less distracting. It’s her visual presentation that she had perfected, and I found a way to avoid the audio and focus on the video.)
Cool to see a playful mix with traditional elements. I love seeing how people who love prints decorate. Also a good example of playful use of color, but not really super palm beach or Hollywood regency. Both styles I like, I just really like to see something a different way of doing modern and bright.
