Not to mention "IF" they actually do steal Zapdos; Great, now you can score 100 while the remaining enemies alive score 300-500 themselves anyway. The logic in Pokemon Unite Players is baffling.
500 is likely an exaggeration. If they throw a unite to secure Zapdos, they will likely fatally wound many enemies and Zap's lightening strike will do the rest.
@@shubhamjohri290 It is not. Remember a 4v5 meant that most of the enemy team probably survived and well enough. Especially considering unites. Now, think of your team all having died. Cool down timers can be incredibly long at end game. Also remember that if your team died, they dropped AEOS energy meaning if any enemies died early in the fight then they are coming back before your team and can pick that up as well as farm wild pokemon on the way. It isn't that much of a stretch. Zapdos stun will not be as effective as you say either. The player trying to steal will either die anyway by being outnumbered, or they simply walk away and score (still outnumbering his 100 pts by far). No way to defend this "strategy".
🌟 Standard final stretch in Master rank: - One teammate scoring - One teammate is dead cause of playing too agresive, - One teammate is farming, - One teammate try to steal Zap, but he never succeeds, - You must fight alone 🙂
Dude. I relate to this, especially when I played Unite in the past. I specifically relate to the "You must fight alone" because I just get gangrushed by the enemy team most of the time.
Totally agreed with this video.. anyone who thinks camping and stealing the zapdos is the right thing to do . STOP IT PLEASE !!!! Its only worth trying when you dont have your team with you for whatever reason.
@@rage_tv4493 I disagree. Realistically, it's more like every *other* solo-queue. If you find yourself having reliable teammates, like what Cris experienced, just effing pitch in.
Like in the match with Cris? Most of us don't play with CrisHeroes every solo queue game 🙄 If the battle looks like a wash, and your mom is good at stealing, waiting to steal can be valid. That gamble has a chance of working out, despite what you see on Twitter.
There's another case of it being legitimate, if your team (especially in solo queue) for some reason isn't coming to mid and the other teams doing it, then it's worth it then rather then risking being koed while being alone It's not ideal still, but I've been forced into it before when no one else was coming
Or if you are playing decidueye, like, snipe people from afar is ok, but you gotta keep in mind both your cd and if anyone decides to rush you. Not only os deci ridiculously weak, he is also super slow, the opponents not knowing you are camping vs they knowing you are can make or break a game.
That's fair, it I don't think the "play" is terrible in that context. It's terrible when you actually have the team in position to fight and then don't, so you can try a miracle steal. I've stolen a TON of Zapdos in games, but I never dodge the team fight. I try it if I get dove or caught out early in the fight and then my team loses it, or if my team tries to start the fight while I'm still on my way to the center and gets wiped before I can help.
@@neonoah3353 I'm sorry, but this is the logic of someone who thinks camping at Zapdos during a team fight is okay, and is the very problem Jake is addressing. I don't want to hammer you for this, but you really need to PARTICIPATE in the team fight. Yes, Decidueye is squishy and slow, but that is not a reason to camp in a bush while your team is fighting. You have to position behind your team and back them up.
@@jasonwinterboer5232 ah, yeah, why not participate in a similar team fight of this video? One which your own team got owned and didnt take out not even one person on the opponents team, that would have been REALLY helpful. Hidding to snipe is not a bad play, a bad play would be to not be able to judge the situation you are in and taking into account the pokemon you are playing with. For a example, the bad play in the video is not cinder hiding to snipe, it was the opponents team attacking zapdos while they are winning with a opponents cinder that has unite ready waiting to snipe, and also the missplay the cinder made, which literally cost him the game. If he had stolen zap, there would be a really high chance his team would have won, since that by the time the opponents reach the goals, someone would have already respawned to defend them.
I just walk up to such teammates during the fight, just lead the enemy team towards these kind of players and they will automatically be in the fight 😂 "Modern problems need modern solutions"🌚
I've had multiple games just yesterday where it happened and it's such a lose-lose. Either they get it and then they believe they single-handedly won us the game while playing like garbage. Or they don't get it and we lose anyway.. it's just painful that you put in all that effort to win a game and one person just leaves something up to complete chance. Horrible decision.
Same thing with the split off and score as the final team fight is happening. They get MVP and 200+ plus points and think they are doing a good job. Nah homie, you’re the reason we lost.
Although I have seen less of these sniping vids recently, I must say I 100% agree with Jake here. If your team is healthy, alive and fully engaged in the teamfight during Zap pit, please please please join us as well, I cannot stress this enough, I understand maybe you don’t trust your team or maybe you don’t feel confident in your own skills but try to contribute as much as you can and we really appreciate any help you can provide. Chances are higher for the enemy team to win if you remain out of it because what happens is let’s say they wipe us out, then essentially what happens is 3 things can happen, 1) enemy team gets suspicious and checks out one of the bushes and take you out, 2) enemy team melt Zapdos faster than you can snipe, and 3) you successfully sniped Zap but either A) you get caught out and killed before being able to score/run, or B) you score your 100 but in exchange the enemy team score minimum 200-300 points because your team is still waiting to respawn. These are the most likely scenarios and in each of them there is no winning, furthermore even if you manage to win miraculously because your team was fortunately able to counter-score back/ respawn fast enough to defend your goal zones, they will not think of you as a team-player nor will they think you made a smart/good play so either way you lose in the end, plus the math checks out too that if you participate in the team fight, the reward is much higher for taking Zap in this case because now your team is able to insta-dunk 200-300 and not worry about losing the game potentially.
At this point, as a solo-q player, I'd always make sure the opposing smite users (Dragonite, Talonflame, Venusaur, etc.) are KO'ed or too far away to snipe, I'd check the bushes, and I'd make sure I save up a burst-damage skill of my own, ALL BEFORE I pitch in to burn Zap myself. I usually play tanks or bruisers, so zoning's my role anyways. Even if I play attackers, I'd still check off the list above before actually doing Zap. Typing this comment out to make sure Jake's viewers KNOW about all the good little habits that can counter this kind of behaviour in the opposing team, and therefore indirectly help to secure the win.
THANK YOU FINALLY ! I hate when someone just hide in the bush when we're teamfight ( if we win cool BUT ) so we're in 4vs5 and we generally lose and so for what ? EVEN if u manage to steal zapdos cool you can dunk 100pts ( if the ennemy team don't kill u before u do ) but the enemy team dunk even more bcz we're all dead and nobody is here to defend our goals .... So plz I beg of all the player of Unite who do that watch this video and learn.
Also the one of the worse plays happened to me yesterday, rotom walked in the enemy base. I have 50 points and my teams machamp has 5. Yes...he breaks the base with 5 points...
I think the thing with solo matchmaking is everyone thinks everyone else doesn’t know how to play the game 😂 so that’s probably why they didn’t let you score because they thought you wouldn’t do it. Sounds dumb but it’s a possible thought process
Ngl I had a phase where I was guilty of this a while back, because I was told Charizard was objectively the best sniper in the game, and I genuinely believed that I had an 100% chance to get it and that I should in theory never fuck it up Ig that's one thing I can thank the rework on his ult for, because now he can't do that shit as effortlessly anymore. In any case ty for bringing awareness to this
Jake I am very thankful that you cover these kinds of stuff. I am a solo q only player since my friends don't play unite and the pain of solo q is real. Unite is a good game but they have to fix matchmaking at any cost
The ONLY time I do this is when my team (that ignored my calls to retreat) pushed 2nd tier goal and all got killed right before Zap. In that case, sniping Zap is not only decent.. its the best play imo.
This is so true because some cinderace players see what other people are saying how good and potentially dominant cinder is but skill is a huge factor in playing cinderace as well.
One of my fav things to do when someone like to afk in L bushes is get someone in the enemy team to chase me and run though the L bushes. It gives the enemy team vision on the sniper. If I am gonna lose might as well make sure these griefers break their switches in disgust
Feels like Unite players invent a new bad strat every other week 😅 we need more people like you spreading good info and helpful plays, thanks for the vid!
Yup, these guys will come up with more weird place to camp if previous hero attempts did not work out. I had Cinderace who (had ult btw) decided to camp in top lane bush before jump pad, watch his team lose Zap fight, and use jump pad as enemy started Zap and he ults Zap at around 40% HP and lose the game.
Similar situation is when the game is pretty even and a team member (usually the hard carry or the very needed tank) tries to sneak a 100 score at the 2min mark also leaving his own teammates in disadvantage. They don't realize that they may have scored a 100 but the enemy team now is going to score up to 500 points...
The only situation where that is a good play is when your entire team is dead and you can't do anything else but try to cheese steal Zapdos to and at least avoid the enemies from turning like 400 points instatly, that way steamrolling the game, or when both teams seem to leave everything to a flip in order to increase the chance of getting it, but even then... And yes that kind of stuff happens in Master rank too. This is the result of all those people uploading clips of them stealing objectives that way, even with their team is alive, and outmaned because of that, thus making it look like it was the good play, and that's the way this kind of behaviour spreads out.
To add on, normally fighting and winning a zap, would end up netting 100 points per person alive. So if u camp and steal, u get 100 in, but this also invites counterscore taking off the whole point of the steal
I would argue that in some cases, in that scenario where your whole team is dead, the better play would be letting the other team KO zap, and then use your unite move to try and KO several of the enemy team and then go score
@@Twilight-kb5to Yup, that's why is sometimes pointless even if your team is dead, because your 100 points are probably not enough to outweigh the enemies total worth of scoring, unless some of your allies respawn on time to defend against the entire enemy team. And even then, they just need to get to 200 in, and with 4-5 people deathballing that is not difficult at all
@@kindredzpirit6046 true, but I think that focusing your unite damage on the other team in that situation provides more value than aiming it at zapdos, since winning zapdos doesn't really do anything for you if several of the other team can just score anyway
I’d say the worst thing is when you win the 2min fight early and one of your team mates attacks zapdos when you’re heavily in the lead and you end up loosing because the enemies come back and steal zapdos last min
Your entire team can secure a full health Zap in a few seconds. I'm guessing you guys half committed, and gave the enemy this opportunity. If they were doing it anyway, you could have dumped your DPS on Zap to help them secure it before the Enemy came back. Obviously, I wasn't in your match, there are a million things to consider (Enemy spawn timers, their Pkmn MS/dashes/buffs/ranges, etc.), and I can only guess at what happened here.
@@JuneauGTW I mean it happens in a lot of games tbf but one guy will attack zap after team wiping but its not always straight away its as the team goes off to push or do other stuff so by the time the zap gets low the other team is back especially if they have one guy who died before the fight / the rest so they come back quicker
If you win the team fight, then taking Zap is the right play. Why would you leave the enemy's 1 win condition on the map instead of just taking it? If they're dead they can't stop you. Leaving it on the map gives them the opportunity to re-engage the fight, win, and then take Zapdos. If you just kill the enemies and then take Zapdos while they're dead, then they never have the opportunity to take it. If your teammate was trying to do Zapdos with 3 or more enemies dead, then they were making the right play and you were trolling them.
If only one teammate is attacking Zapdos, what happened to the rest of you? Defending goal zones that are stunned by Zapdos is an exercise in futility, while trying to score while leaving up Zapdos is just throwing the game.
Not just at zap but I see this play in other team fights as well! Your allies are fighting over an objective or defending goal zone and one of your ally is hiding in a bush just so they can do the "clean-up" and get all the kills or the steal, which is forgiveable except for at zapdos fight, as that is the most game-changing point in the entire match
Thanks a bunch for this video Jake. Some players really do need videos like these to help them realize what they're doing. I could lump Backdoor Scoring into this also, just please show up to the fight and participate. Hopefully the people leaving comments watched the video all the way through
It’s so annoying when a teammate legit just watches the team die and stays in that bush, THEN proceeds to fail the steal. The only time this is optional is when your entire team died and you managed to escape the fight and regroup yourself. That’s what I had to do with a Venu game once, Two important players were KO’d, I was as well. I had just gotten out of the timer to meet up with two really low health team members. So I decided to hide in the bush until the rest of the team could get here. Turns out the other team capitalized on the lack of members and started shredding Zap. I had to steal with my Venu Ult, and actually got it! I got us the win thanks to that steal. A pro tip for anyone who shreds Zap, ALWAYS check bushes if there is a opponent still alive. (This was a three stack game, the two important members were my incredibly good friends) I personally believe this is a last option kind of thing, don’t sit in the bush and allow the teammates to die. Instead if most of your team Is dead, try to back off and live. Wait for your teammates to respawn.
The best feeling is when you're up and know one of the opponents is sitting in the bush waiting to snipe and you just defend and never hit zap so they're just sitting there for 2 whole minutes like an idiot.
This can only be done In a situation in which your character got kod first in team fight and after that you respawned and you are someone like decidueye who has no power so then you can do it but otherwise it's useless
A steal should be a last ditch effort when your team is down and there's nothing else you can do. It is NOT a main strategy (You don't need a Unite to steal. Stole once with a night slash from Absol. Also stole with a surf from Slowbro)
Yep, I also stole it with a Decidueye Un-revved Razor Leaf and a Blissey Helping Hand BUFF Slap. And it was in the same situation where everyone was down after I returned from death Edit: Also I never snipe Zapdos like what happens to the video
I've stole Zapdos with a Garchomp Dragon Rush-Dragon Claw combo attack, A Charizard Fire Punch, and an Aegislash unite move. Those are literally the only times I've ever been the guy who steals Zapdos, (also it's the last ditch effort version, I swear I did not hide in that bush the entire time)
haha when your team is getting stomped so bad all game and you make that comeback without a unite move 😂 i once stole it once with extreme speed lucario. none of my teammates were there and i had to try something and we pulled that game from the depths of hell it felt so good
Yes I 100% agree. Sitting in the bush like a dumb butt waiting to StEaL Zapdos instead of helping your team in the fight to secure it is one of the stupidest plays you can make. Why would you sit there and let your team die trying to secure Zap just to gamble the outcome of the game on a 50/50 chance? Makes even less sense when your team is the one that's struggling because failing the snipe will guarantee that your team loses. Fighting with your team to kill the enemy carry and wipe their team is the much better play. Dead enemy team = free Zapdos and easy win or a chance to comeback. The ONLY time I can justify trying to snipe Zap, Dred, or Rotom is when your the last one left alive at the objective OR your team is a bunch of headless chickens that lack the brain cells to group up for said objective.
The only time that sneaky snipes work are against inexperienced players/teams. Better Master Ranks are very attentive to where the enemy teams are even in the heat of battle, and most often that not, at least one checks the grass unless they're confident that they got a team wipe or they're certain that the opponent's won't make it in time to steal.
I fully agree this is the wrong play and honestly I can only think of 2 logical scenarios where this could be the right play, one being your team is already down and you're the only one left running in to steal. You did also point out why somebody may have their unite after the team-fight and the only thing that came to mind was maybe the cool down just resetting in and around the zap fight (maybe last used at 3-3.5 minute mark) and was not quite ready for team fight. Overall, please keep up the informative videos as I would like to see this stop too.
I wish I could “Like” this video 1,000 times. Great PSA from Jake. If you are the person that does this, even when it works, you are the problem with Unite. Show up to Zapdos and fight with your team, win or lose. P.S. also if the Zapdos fight has started don’t be that guy who does a cheeky score to boost MVP rating. That’s almost as bad.
i had this happened to me last while I was playing as sylveon. I was fighting a cinderace that just used its unite move at the 2 minute mark. While I was getting a-pressed to death my teammate eldegoss decided to just watch me die in the bush right next to me. Eldegoss didn't even help our other teammates and when they all died eldegoss tried to steal with their unite move which they failed. I swear some ppl deliberately throw games
@@shubhamjohri290 LOL, that's totally joke. Any delays made is appreciate by your dead allies and nothing is waste, they might had to use skills to kill you and you deal the damage as much as possible. as long as the team fight is go on and didn't revolve around zap which is 50-50, that's the best play possible. but to stall means to stall, not act hero and kill all of them like some greninja surf clips.
Whenever I see this play going down during a zapdos team fight I will passively-aggressively bring them into the team fight by dragging the team fight over to the bush they're hiding in.
Let me give you a time when something similar is a good move At dread, enemy team is ripping it and your allies are farming audinos top lane, use your unite, pyro ball, fly, solar beam and try to get it That's the only time this is a good move and my mind will not be changed, EVER
I feel like that’s not even that similar. The “play” spragels is describing is too ignore your allies, let them 4v5, and make snipe zap. The play you’re describing is almost the opposite, your team is making you 1v5 bc they’re ignoring the objective and so you toss out a move as a hail mary since it’s not like you can engage then. The thing both scenarios have in common is just group for objectives for the love of Arceus lol
Hey Spragels, could you do a video explaining why carries shouldnt be using exp share and certain other items, i am STILL having arguements with people saying exp share cinderace is strong.
I’ve been guilty of this. Usually when it’s a game where I am getting KO’d often and I know I’d get KO’d during the fight. You’re totally right. It’s a bad play, consider me a changed person! Great video Jake!
The frustrated solo Q urge to YELL at you for ever doing this type of play, but I have to applaud your understanding and now changed ways. Content Cowboy changing the world one vid at a time!
Even as death fodder you still have a place in a fight. The damage that you dish out from your unite move or from blowing yourself up maybe just enough to help the rest of your team clean up or force one of their players to retreat.
Reminds me of the line from Troy: Teammate: “The Pokémon you’re fighting, he’s the biggest bird I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t want to fight him” Content Cowboy: “That’s why no one will remember your name”
Jake(s), can you please also teach people to counter score if you lose Zap? I hate seeing my team sit on a goal and try to stop three enemies from INSTA-scoring... 😔🤦♂️
Thank you so much for this, so many players are just hiding and then watching their whole team die. Literally no reason to "steal" zap if you whole team is dead and they can just go counter score. Stupid play
Another very viable reason for going for the snipe is if you’re the first dead in a team fight. you respawn while your team is still wiped and shoot your lucario ult or cinder ball while running back to the center. (Ult charges faster when you’re dead) I’ve seen that work and not work but Atleast you put in full effort the entire time. However, you’re right it’s very circumstantial and no reason for those venusaurs or cinders to do it that way.
I've played "with(out)" that Venusaur. He sure loves that bush. He's been hiding there since the launch of Pokemon Unite. He's been trying to perfect his one and only unite move and so far his effort has been unfortunately .... in Vine 🤣🤣🤣 When you play with a 5 year old boy with hero syndrome, this is what happens.
I honestly think it really depends on if you're doing it as Decidueye. Frankly, as a Decidueye, I don't really want to see you in the team fight if the rest of the team is dying and you don't have razor leaf. If you go to the grass spot closest to the center in your team's jungle, you'll be safe enough to not get bursted immediately if it fails or succeeds, and it buys you time to live it fails and your team to come back if you succeed. But that's really only because of how Decidueye is designed, not because the play itself is good.
I had a guy in my game do this, but he did it from the bush right next to Zapdos. I lead an enemy tsareena to his hiding spot to force him to help, but he just stayed still. The entire rest of the team fight broke out right at the edge of his bush, and we only won because our Duraludon popped off. He also missed the “steal” on our Duraludon. Very frustrating
i had a lucario game where the enemies absolutely wrecked us, i was in an L bush, no one on my team was there and i had my unite, i hadnt done that kind of lucario steal in a long time, thinking i would mess it up, i just said screw it and did it anyway but i managed to steal zap lmao, we lost anyways but only due to a wigglytuff landing a 14 ony goal zone
my favorite part of unite is when no one cares about you. you call out for help but no one comes to help and you keep on getting 1v3ed. you love to see that
I had a talonflame player on my teammate literally did the exact same thing. We all had our Unite up and we got wiped, all enemy team's hp are super low. That talonflame is still sitting in the top bush. He did managed to steal it and earn him the mvp but everyone else was dead and 5 enemy team scored 400+ pts vs his lone 100 pts.... What's worse is on previous games I had with him, he plays Blastoise top and never goes bot for objectives... Stayed top the entire time where we had to always 4v5 Drednaw and lose games...
So true. What annoys me is that most of those who tries to snipe are our damage dealers. So here I am a support with my teammates trying to find 5 mons while one of our heavy hitters is just waiting. VERY annoying
Wow…just wow. I’m already done with people coming into the jungle and having to fight for the buffs(had a Blissey come in and wait for me to engage so they could steal buffs). Already done with people not wanting to work together. Team fights have been something else lately…..and now this.
Exactly what is happening in solo recently... I am on a losing streak... Literally nobody wants to join at the central fight in the end... It's rare that 1 or 2 buddies join you in that fight... It's been so frustrating...
Before, I do this almost all the time, I just can’t see myself surviving a team fight and I have phobia of getting ganked XD, but this season I’m a changed person now and think that if I participate the fight we have more chances of winning the fight. It’s risky but in a fight there will be win and lose; you’ll never know which one is the outcome if you don’t try.
I only try to steal zapdos if most of my team are down or not helping at the fight. But if my team are fighting I try to help no matter what. But if I have no choice but to try to steal zapdos, then I try my best to do that especially if we lose the team fight. I totally agree with you though you should totally try to fight in the team fight.
My rank duo used to do this until i had a serious lecture with him. He got mad at me but after some teasing and cute jokes to make his mood better he learnt that what he was doing is wrong and started thinking better about his gameplay strategies.
Something else that I've also noticed recently that is equally as frustrating is people hiding in bushes in team fights before zap and just watching their team die! I've followed people 2v1/3v2 situations and then I go in thinking we are attacking then the other person hides instead of helping. Then instead of crushing them instantly, someone else from the other team comes to back up and they just watch me get crushed. THEN they come out of the bush and attack?? It's happened multiple times and I don't understand.
We need ingame chat mode. There are some idiots who waste unite at 2:30 mark, who hide in bush to give final blow , idiots without score shield going for 100 points instead of fighting enemy, Not defending goal zone last min, leaving a single pokemon for laneing while 3 other idiots fight for jungle, Not showing up for first dred. Playing a Pokemon for first time in rank mode without knowing its attacks just randomly klick buttons making whole team play 4vs5 . Need ingame chat or atleast some quick chats like fight for dred, don’t waste unite etc
As a decidueye main, I like to keep my distance from players so I can do more damage, but I don't just wait in the top bush for the whole fight and then act like I'm the hero because I sniped zapdos when my entire team fainted. I 100% agree with you on this, I try to help my team all I can and when I see a teamate who just rests in the bush until the WHOLE team faints I get very anxious and disappointed.
I just had a match recently, where our Decidueye did this, hiding in the top bush doing nothing while we were fighting (hilariously, I was a Venusaur instead). Unlike in this video, the enemies shredded Zapdos as soon as the four of us are gone (there was a Garchomp among them), so most of us wouldn't respawn in time. At that point it wouldn't have mattered even if he succeeded in stealing Zapdos, because the enemies can walk right up to our goals to score anyway, and he was the only one who can score (and if any of us respawn, we would not make it). I'm not actually saying his participation would have guaranteed the game, but not participating the fight despite already being in position is pretty much saying "I knew we were going to lose that fight". He even had jungle too. Just heartbreaking.
Reminds me of when COD trick shot compilations became a thing so in every other lobby you’d have a teammate who’d throw the game by trying to do 360 no scopes and missing every shot
I ran into this for the first and second time yesterday I was so confused. It makes no sense at all, they’re watching their whole team fight from the grass… like at least basic attack???
I will often try to snipe Zapdos with Decidueye's Spirit Shackle if we've already lost the team fight. Honestly it's not extremely hard to do in a non top level game with that move. However, it usually only prevents us from getting blown out, or if we had a big lead it will often let us hold on. With Decidueye though, there's almost zero chance of making it to an enemy base to score your 100 points so it just keeps them from scoring easily.
We need a video like this for each of the bad plays in Unite. Then we need to make them required viewing material upon promotion to Veteran rank. Thanks you Jake!!! P.S. I had a player in my game making some very "rough" plays earlier today. He was on a Crustle and was simply running around the map and killing every wild Pokémon in sight, and scoring right in front of me as I was fighting 2-3 enemy Pokémon, then running away. Never helped at a single major objective. We ended up winning Zapdos while the Crustle was off lane scoring. At the end of the match he had 278 goals scored and only 16,000 damage... I checked his profile and he had logged 3,001 matches... HOW. DOES. SOMEONE. PLAY. THAT. MANY. GAMES... (big breath)... and think they're doing the right thing? Because the game awards them MVP. The MVP system needs to change. Players should not be encouraged / rewarded for poor game etiquette. If you've read this far, thanks for caring!
The amount of smooth brain plays in solo queue is unreal. Pinging objectives to no response. Bots being introduced. It makes this game really hard to play and I love this game.
Getting rewarded for playing poorly is the must frustrating thing. You can only hope that they lose that they end up on the opposing team in the future and you can take advantage of it.
I appreciate your videos in the community. I hate how unite rewards stuff like this so it perpetuates the bad players behaviors. It should be whatever team dealt the most damage in my opinion
That also happens to me quite a few times too LOL Totally agree with you Jake and thanks for brining this to the attention of the Pokemon Unite player base.
There is no arguing your point- completely true and I agree- terrible strategy (if only blocking them would result in preventing them from ever being on your team again)
If you see this, draw the team fight above Zapdos and then get an enemy to chase you into the bush, forcing your teammate to launch an ambush and reveal themselves.
I absolutely agree with u and run into 2 many players that won't assist me and my brother in taking out Zapdos i get some want to play it safe but it honestly better like u mentioned before in one of your videos to *"help where it matters most."* The only time i generally snipe is with my main dragonite but thats mainly if i can't make it in time after respawning or my team just gave up sadly i generally do die since a decent amount of the time some just wait at spawn spamming the surrender button but at least i sometimes give them a initiative to not give up and try to the end.
Now I always checked the upper bushes as a speedster after a huge teamfight and one of them missing, most of the time basically it would be a free kill since they are focused on aiming their Unite Move and not ready to intercept you coming to them.
I don't usually play as anything that can typically snipe but I tend to last the longest in a team fight and solo queue players often have short memories lol. So I'll run in as say, Wigglytuff, pop off whatever I can, maybe I have slow smoke for example and I hope beyond all hope that I get the steal. Like you said, it usually doesn't work but when it does, man is that satisfying... Again, we probably still lose though. Show up to team fights, too many people in solo lately just farm or try to score, I'm talking all my other team mates, multiple battles in a row.
I only have ever even considered doing this when given the exact situation you described AND I would be playing snorlax who has a move built in that can *somewhat* snipe the Zapdos if need be. Even then it’s usually better to go back and try and defend with your now (hopefully) revived team
I literally remember, when few times, my team didnt rotate to that big yellow goose, so i just, go there, as sylveon, taking risk, clicked unite, and stole the zapgoose Or, as gardevoir, where, everyone died, i used my unite, so, i waited. Uses future sight, and steal So i basically did good play Am i right?
Not to mention "IF" they actually do steal Zapdos; Great, now you can score 100 while the remaining enemies alive score 300-500 themselves anyway. The logic in Pokemon Unite Players is baffling.
I explained this logic to my cinderace friend but he never listen and continue that stealing stupidity
@@prathameshbire3226 then unfriend him
@@prathameshbire3226 stop playing with him
500 is likely an exaggeration.
🌟 Standard final stretch in Master rank:
- One teammate scoring
- One teammate is dead cause of playing too agresive,
- One teammate is farming,
- One teammate try to steal Zap, but he never succeeds,
- You must fight alone 🙂

TRUE
most of the solo queue is like that
Mostly 1 vs 3+ pokemon + zapdos on final stretch
either win by luck or got KO and lose with small different point
Dude. I relate to this, especially when I played Unite in the past.
I specifically relate to the "You must fight alone" because I just get gangrushed by the enemy team most of the time.
- Entire enemy team is at full health with Unite Moves ready and they're all coming for Zapdos.
Totally agreed with this video.. anyone who thinks camping and stealing the zapdos is the right thing to do . STOP IT PLEASE !!!!
Its only worth trying when you dont have your team with you for whatever reason.
Literally every solo q game
@@rage_tv4493 I disagree. Realistically, it's more like every *other* solo-queue. If you find yourself having reliable teammates, like what Cris experienced, just effing pitch in.
I feel sad for you😔
When about when your team isn't with you because they're hiding in a bush?
Like in the match with Cris? Most of us don't play with CrisHeroes every solo queue game 🙄 If the battle looks like a wash, and your mom is good at stealing, waiting to steal can be valid. That gamble has a chance of working out, despite what you see on Twitter.
There's another case of it being legitimate, if your team (especially in solo queue) for some reason isn't coming to mid and the other teams doing it, then it's worth it then rather then risking being koed while being alone
It's not ideal still, but I've been forced into it before when no one else was coming
@@phantomcyrano absolutely, that's what I meant, my bad if it didn't come across
I’ve started dragging the enemy team towards that teammate. It annoys me so much
Omg thank you for the great idea i am gonna use it
YESS. Got my Cinderace killed due to this. I'm not proud but I forced him to join the fight after the respawn so I'll take that as a W

Holy shit im gonna start doing that now lmao
LOL I gotta try that
I just walk up to such teammates during the fight, just lead the enemy team towards these kind of players and they will automatically be in the fight 😂 "Modern problems need modern solutions"🌚

One time i tried that my mate just ran away
I love doing that to people that afk in bushes. If you're not gonna be a team player, imma take you down with me
I've had multiple games just yesterday where it happened and it's such a lose-lose. Either they get it and then they believe they single-handedly won us the game while playing like garbage. Or they don't get it and we lose anyway.. it's just painful that you put in all that effort to win a game and one person just leaves something up to complete chance. Horrible decision.
they literally be trolling whether it works or not. afk during team fight
Same thing with the split off and score as the final team fight is happening. They get MVP and 200+ plus points and think they are doing a good job. Nah homie, you’re the reason we lost.
So frusrtrating
Yeah it happened to me 😭😭 but my team mate did it but it hurts
Instead of live a normal life and push it through.. these people like to gamble and screw up everything

So *frustrating* you don’t know how to spell
So frustrating to the point the word gets spelled the wrong way :P
THANK YOU!! This crap happens so often and its truly infuriating. Hopefully this opens some eyes
Di te is kind of hard because it’s unite can shoot from bot lane
This is common in random matchmaking
Idk why they do this just to see their name on team notification
A master ranked player scored 11, broke the goal when I had 50.
Then I died with the 50 points afterwards
@@delighyt yeah i died too :/
I think the thing with solo matchmaking is everyone thinks everyone else doesn’t know how to play the game 😂 so that’s probably why they didn’t let you score because they thought you wouldn’t do it. Sounds dumb but it’s a possible thought process
I don't understand why everybody is trying to theorize this. The answer is likely just simply that machamp didn't realize the point difference.
Ngl I had a phase where I was guilty of this a while back, because I was told Charizard was objectively the best sniper in the game, and I genuinely believed that I had an 100% chance to get it and that I should in theory never fuck it up

thank you for doing the community a service, I can’t even begin to convey how frustrating this is.
That Cris clip was hilarious. One of the best players absolutely destroying while venu watches in a bush and then misses the unite
I got a match with the normal bad cinderace waiting in the Bush for the steal, but the interesting thing is he doesn't even have unite move
He overestimated himself to steal with an auto attack
I still wish the strat of going mid once and becoming a laner and steeling exp in a trilane
And even then, they just need to get to 200 in, and with 4-5 people deathballing that is not difficult at all
@@djjjjjd Yeah that's right, but even that is risky as you're the only one against 3 to 5 people.
@@kindredzpirit6046 true, but I think that focusing your unite damage on the other team in that situation provides more value than aiming it at zapdos, since winning zapdos doesn't really do anything for you if several of the other team can just score anyway

It is the carry mindset that forces players to make game-changing play alone to feed their ego (delusion) of 'CARRY'ing the team by themselves.
what i like to do with people like this is lure the enemies into the bush they are in
Lmao
Me to 😂😂👍
I’d say the worst thing is when you win the 2min fight early and one of your team mates attacks zapdos when you’re heavily in the lead and you end up loosing because the enemies come back and steal zapdos last min
Ugh, for me it’s always a cinderace thinking it’s a good idea to solo Zapdos while everybody else is desperately defending.
(This was a three stack game, the two important members were my incredibly good friends)
I personally believe this is a last option kind of thing, don’t sit in the bush and allow the teammates to die.
He is weak I agree. But if someone is there for tanking him then he is a beast at sniping with Spirit Shackle🔥🔥🔥
This is relatable to the point that our Aegislash is sitting top bush on middle and trying to steal but he failed and refuse to believe he get it
A steal should be a last ditch effort when your team is down and there's nothing else you can do. It is NOT a main strategy
(You don't need a Unite to steal. Stole once with a night slash from Absol. Also stole with a surf from Slowbro)
Yep, I also stole it with a Decidueye Un-revved Razor Leaf and a Blissey Helping Hand BUFF Slap.
And it was in the same situation where everyone was down after I returned from death
Edit: Also I never snipe Zapdos like what happens to the video
you can steal it with anything. I stole it once with an eldegoss auto attack while the whole enemy team was on it.
I've stole Zapdos with a Garchomp Dragon Rush-Dragon Claw combo attack, A Charizard Fire Punch, and an Aegislash unite move. Those are literally the only times I've ever been the guy who steals Zapdos, (also it's the last ditch effort version, I swear I did not hide in that bush the entire time)
haha when your team is getting stomped so bad all game and you make that comeback without a unite move 😂 i once stole it once with extreme speed lucario. none of my teammates were there and i had to try something and we pulled that game from the depths of hell it felt so good
Or stealth rock from Crustle
Better Master Ranks are very attentive to where the enemy teams are even in the heat of battle, and most often that not, at least one checks the grass unless they're confident that they got a team wipe or they're certain that the opponent's won't make it in time to steal.
exactly.
I couldn't AGREE more with You Spragels! I HATE HATE HATE when teammate does it. It's SO discouraging. Thanks for bringing THIS Up!
4:07 I have never heard a more genuinely baffled laugh from Jake ever in all the time I’ve been subscribed to his channel
Lol this is too funny, another play I hate is when 1 or 2 of your teammates decide to sneak scores right at 2:00 minutes and just get killed.
"I dunno how you would still have your unite" unite gets cancelled :)
Its better to just stall the enemies if you are outnumbered in zapdos so that your dead allies can go back immediately to zapdos
You probably mean dead allies*
But what's the point, by the time they come alive you will be dead.
Let me give you a time when something similar is a good move
At dread, enemy team is ripping it and your allies are farming audinos top lane, use your unite, pyro ball, fly, solar beam and try to get it
That's the only time this is a good move and my mind will not be changed, EVER
I feel like that’s not even that similar. The “play” spragels is describing is too ignore your allies, let them 4v5, and make snipe zap. The play you’re describing is almost the opposite, your team is making you 1v5 bc they’re ignoring the objective and so you toss out a move as a hail mary since it’s not like you can engage then.
The thing both scenarios have in common is just group for objectives for the love of Arceus lol
The worst possible use of bush strats... Zap Snipes = D tier garbage.
We need a bush strat tier list now...
Hey Spragels, could you do a video explaining why carries shouldnt be using exp share and certain other items, i am STILL having arguements with people saying exp share cinderace is strong.
The worst play is running it down and inting your team
I’ve been guilty of this. Usually when it’s a game where I am getting KO’d often and I know I’d get KO’d during the fight. You’re totally right. It’s a bad play, consider me a changed person! Great video Jake!
But never as bad as that CrisHeroes Ven 😂😂😂
At least you admitted and acting on it... Some people will still say aaahahah u dun kno meh iam da bast stealer 😆😆
The frustrated solo Q urge to YELL at you for ever doing this type of play, but I have to applaud your understanding and now changed ways. Content Cowboy changing the world one vid at a time!
It is not a rule set in stone that this is a bad play. It depends on the situation.
Even as death fodder you still have a place in a fight. The damage that you dish out from your unite move or from blowing yourself up maybe just enough to help the rest of your team clean up or force one of their players to retreat.
Reminds me of the line from Troy:

“The Pokémon you’re fighting, he’s the biggest bird I’ve ever seen. I wouldn’t want to fight him”

Jake(s), can you please also teach people to counter score if you lose Zap? I hate seeing my team sit on a goal and try to stop three enemies from INSTA-scoring... 😔🤦♂️
To be honest, unless you had a commanding lead when you lost zap, and the enemy team didn’t dump a lot of their 50’s then it’s a wrap.
Right when I saw that thumbnail I could literally feel it was going to be this. keep up the great work, ur content is amazing
I don't think those are children necessarily.
I nearly spit when I saw that first cinder clip LMAO! Thank you for this incredibly important PSA and thanks for the content
Right but if other stealing pokemons doin it and then we won't have any other option than reporting
Very frustrating
i had a lucario game where the enemies absolutely wrecked us, i was in an L bush, no one on my team was there and i had my unite, i hadnt done that kind of lucario steal in a long time, thinking i would mess it up, i just said screw it and did it anyway but i managed to steal zap lmao,
we lost anyways but only due to a wigglytuff landing a 14 ony goal zone
my favorite part of unite is when no one cares about you. you call out for help but no one comes to help and you keep on getting 1v3ed. you love to see that
I had a talonflame player on my teammate literally did the exact same thing.
I used to do this and got a 55.2 win % from using this method. But I noticed that my teammates got pissed off so I stopped doing it.
How did your teammates convey their displeasure? Not giving you a thumbs up?
@@shubhamjohri290 ya not giving me a thumbs up and target me with the "venusaur needs help" when I was sitting in the L shape grass waiting to snipe
IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR SONG LONG. thank you for Making a video on it and spreading awareness. I seriously love you lol
Yo! That snip3 was so funny, I just laughed the heck out of it and I still! 🤣🤣🤣
He got mad at me but after some teasing and cute jokes to make his mood better he learnt that what he was doing is wrong and started thinking better about his gameplay strategies.
can we talk about how beautiful your background pokemons are, like I want to steal the little vulpix awww
There are some idiots who waste unite at 2:30 mark,
who hide in bush to give final blow ,
idiots without score shield going for 100 points instead of fighting enemy,
Not defending goal zone last min,
leaving a single pokemon for laneing while 3 other idiots fight for jungle,
Not showing up for first dred.
Playing a Pokemon for first time in rank mode without knowing its attacks just randomly klick buttons making whole team play 4vs5 .
Need ingame chat or atleast some quick chats like fight for dred, don’t waste unite etc
The worst play imo is that dumb teammate that goes hide in a goal bush and wait for team or enemy to kill zapdos and score after that...
Thanks for putting this video out! The bush hiders are so frustrating.
Jokes on you, my teammates don't even group up at Zapdos to attempt to snipe it
I just had a match recently, where our Decidueye did this, hiding in the top bush doing nothing while we were fighting (hilariously, I was a Venusaur instead).
I watched this video the time you uploaded it, and today I experienced the same thing. So frustrating.
That also happens to me quite a few times too LOL
Totally agree with you Jake and thanks for brining this to the attention of the Pokemon Unite player base.
There is no arguing your point- completely true and I agree- terrible strategy (if only blocking them would result in preventing them from ever being on your team again)
If you see this, draw the team fight above Zapdos and then get an enemy to chase you into the bush, forcing your teammate to launch an ambush and reveal themselves.
that crisheroes clip is pure gold 😂
I absolutely agree with u and run into 2 many players that won't assist me and my brother in taking out Zapdos i get some want to play it safe but it honestly better like u mentioned before in one of your videos to *"help where it matters most."*
The only time i generally snipe is with my main dragonite but thats mainly if i can't make it in time after respawning or my team just gave up sadly i generally do die since a decent amount of the time some just wait at spawn spamming the surrender button but at least i sometimes give them a initiative to not give up and try to the end.
I literally remember, when few times, my team didnt rotate to that big yellow goose, so i just, go there, as sylveon, taking risk, clicked unite, and stole the zapgoose
Or, as gardevoir, where, everyone died, i used my unite, so, i waited. Uses future sight, and steal
So i basically did good play
Am i right?
