Stop it with the "tinkle music"! How background music spoils so many videos for me

  • I don't like background music on (most) videos. I think it's because of my autism, because obviously the approach works for so many successful channels.
To be sure - I do enjoy when music sets the mood in the intro or outro. I just don't like when music plays throughout the video of someone talking.
Weirdly enough though, a lot of autism TH-cam channels have these background tracks too... go figure!

Yes, I do not need the constant music. It can interfere with my thinking when I am in these stores or listening to presentations.

The fact that so many people love constant background music, and I struggle with it, is one of the things that makes me realize how my brain really works differently

I just realized almost all of my channels have no back ground music. I can't stand the distracting music. I can't focus on what is being said.

This video is an opportunity to rant - and test out my new setup for reacting to video clips. The last few videos where I was trying to show and comment on videos were really terrible, but I have a better way to record now.
If you watch this on a TV screen, you can use the QR codes to pull up the videos I mention and either mark them as "watch later" or find them in your TH-cam history afterwards.

the counter example of this is journey to the microcosmos.
You will like it, you will like the use of music.
    I promise.

I will check it out! Some channel make good use of music, but it's typically extremely carefully selected, and matches pitch-perfect with the content of the video.
One of my favorite channels is SlivkiShow, and he does use music, too. Sometimes it's great, especially when he films the inside of a terrarium in close-up with dramatic music, haha.
