Everyone is completely missing the point of this. This was not a Stranglers concert, it was Hugh doing his thing, with Hazel joining him on stage for one old classic track.
Get your point sodthong but its exactly as Phil Brooks says, its sad really cus the great man wrote and played some monumental tunes but if you have ever seen the Stranglers the last few years you can see how good Baz Warne is in comparison playing wise.
Unfortunately this is not showing Hazel in a good light. I have seen much better quality videos, with much better audio too. If this had been my introduction to Hazel O'Connor then I wouldn't be looking to see her again.
I agree with the comments about the first 3 albums of the stranglers being the best,i read or heard an interveiw with the band and they think raven to be their best work, i fucking hated it, i played it all the way through recently to see if i still thought the same, guess what? i still hate it, maybe hate is too strong a word, but compared to 1st 3 it just pales, but it is better than feline. Hugh and Hazel dated at some point and she did release this song, i used to have the hots for her but now she looks like a school dinner lady.
Agree about the first 3 albums. They had that edge to them that started to soften on later albums. Personally I think The Raven is the the best of their later stuff and can't stand the La Folie album.
im a big early stranglers fan - 1st three albums and a few decent singles - thought id have a look what Hugh Cornwell was up to these days i wish i hadn't - total shit
i read hugh cornwell's auto biogarphy and and after rattus, no more, black and white , and live x-cert - the band sat down and talked - they reckoned punk was dead and if they wanted to carry on living the musicians life they would have to change ( or sellout as we used to call it ) as im older now i find it completely understandable - i still think the same about the music though apart from a few decent singles it was all shit after the first three studio albums for me - ive seen them three times over the last few years and they are closer now to the punk stranglers which is great but the old punk tracks are still always the best for me.
Hugh had his chance of re joining the Stranglers years ago. Now we don't need him, Baz has done a brilliant job of replacing him. Carry on Hugh doing your Karaoke and by the way JCC cannot sing. I am seeing the Stranglers in Bristol soon why don't you come along and watch.
@@celticwarrior1365 in no way are they as good as the original line up of hugh jj jet and dave i know i have seen them both on numerous occasions and the original was the best.
I was hoping for some edge on the guitar, but he played it kind of clean and to me didn't do it for me, also missed JJ's bass, maybe he should have used an acoustic, but then again he is a musician so he can play how he wants. The "solo" sounded weak though. No more heroes.
Loved Hazel's version, Hanging around is probably the best stranglers song ever.
Great to see Hazel up there and having some fun, love this song by the stranglers.

Not just that she brought it out as a single before every one jumoed on her band Wagon
Awww Look at the old folks enjoying themselves. Bless em.
Oh dear!
Great but Dave's keyboards are missing. The master should be here playing them!
JJ sorely missed, esp if any prick in audience pissed him off!fisti cuffs here we go!
And Jet Black Drumming
John Ellis Should Be Missing
His ghost?!
Love it thanks Mark
Hazel is Legend 🏴🥃
My god, is that actually Hazel O Conner??, if so, "Fuck Me", Hugh, what were you thinking???
Hazel is looking good
love it
The performance is ok. I miss that bass player was it Caroline Campbell?
They say never meet your heroes meet Hugh twice saying was right both times.
prey tell
karaoke with Hugh ...

Very Good So Nice About Paul Roberts
Ahhhh...........and there's that brilliant Stranglers guitar sound.
I prefere Kaz's vocals her base playing is amazing but her vocals are so good too 😊

Freinds re-united?.......glad that Hazel can still 'give it some!'.......remember the colours black and red?.......:-)
Theyre loud Im sure but I can hardly hear it ffs
it's Grab-a-Granny round at Hugh's tonight . . . . .
bet you he's knobbed every one of them :+)
missing the Sax for a 'Hazel' take on the song, why didn't one of the girls play the sax instead of looking like a spare part backing singing !

The Stranglers I have to admit are better off without him!
bingoace Complete bollocks, Hugh wrote most of the songs.

+shrkb1te other than their attitude what was Punk about the stranglers really?
Three 10 punters
Some on comments thinking this is good ,you must be pissed .it is excrement.
WTF is she doing?

Could not have said it better myself
Get over it mate! Why are you so bitter and twisted about the original Strangler that is Hugh Cornwell? Just enjoy the new line up including Baz!
I would go there myself but like a tin of sardines there when they play.
