    Seeing vids of youngsters working on "slants" does two things for me. First, they make me happy, and second, they make me kinda mad for selling my 74 Duster.

      Turbos are the way to go I have a 460 big block for my 71 mustang an it's going up to a 808 big block straight for drag 2 big twin turbos with a niice super charger with blower with nos ;)

      u old folks make the hobby way too expensive for us youth , a indian or harley from before ww2 are way too expensive , as is a nice dodge charger of something , for young people its impossible to buy

    I've always wanted to know how a boom tube sounds coming out of a slant 6, usually it's the other way around, so this should be cool, it's amazing what these younger kids know how to do with cars these days

    Dude I figured I was the only guy in our generation that was messing with old mopars and a slant six. Bought a 1979 volare from my grandpas friend and a 1975 duster with a 318. keep it up man!

    My 1st car as a kid was a 78' nova with the 250 straight six and my dad made me a straight pipe with a glass pack that 45'd out the passenger side in front of the rear tire... Perfect car to learn to drive in, especially in the snow.. 👍

    Great job young fella! Your right it was the best thing ever! Your video was more than good enough to show what your doing, don’t shut it down too much....maybe just bang a hotdog in line. Back in my day the cops were not running around with Db meters and we used to fit a couple of hotdogs on backwards so it looked like we were trying to keep things quiet but not really. I don’t know who had the biggest grin when you fired her up...you or me! Well done!

    10.28 that smile is absolutely identical to my own from the time I owned my first six pack car in the 70s until today. Mopar Heaven buddy. That's what it's all about. You do not have to have a 1000 horsepower 10 million dollar dream machine like the rich guys. It's about putting your heart and soul into what you own, and being happy with it. It's about you and your machine not about other people, but through time you will find the better ones will enjoy your work also. Absolutely awesome :-) ... you got me kid, I'm a sub :-)

    install the glass pack a 22" will sound good as the fiberglass blows out will sound even better. Next move the boom tube as close to the rear tire as possible and have the tips stick out past the body line around 1.5 inches. Other wise with windows down the exhaust will come right up into the passenger compartment. If this was your second video keep up the good work your a natural. Check out whatever you can find on the super 6 or hyper pack if memory serves. Also the Australians continued with developing the Chrysler 6 cylinder while we in the US went to the V-8 they have some pretty trick *hit they make and sell over there

    You remind me of me when I was a teen my first car was a 1979 Dodge Aspen with a Super 6 in it and the first day I had it I blew the muffler off and it was loud and I wanted to put a header on it with a cherry bomb muffler but my dad made me put a proper muffler on it but it was a fun car

    Good job, kid. Slant 6's are awesome. I just sold a 72 Dart sedan with a turbo setup I built. These motors are EXCELLENT to experiment with, no doubt. They're gaining in popularity, which is great for such an oddball powerplant.

    Sick mods, man. One piece i got, use flex piping. Allows the exhaust to move with the engine and keep the rest of the plumbing from rattling. Otherwise, good shit. Giving me ideas for my car

    Half the point is to create expansion/low pressure area boom tubes are tapered from end to end, the dividers start very close together, then taper wider with the housing example 4" 1"space ends at 8" with 2" spacing

      Dr.Gas is the company who produced them. To my knowledge, they are out of business so I found a set on Facebook marketplace

    Good job but I noticed you never opened up the flange and are using a factory manifold your losing quite a bit of high rpm power the way you have it set up

      Exactly. Make or find a friend with a plasma cutter and match the diameter of the manifold to the flange. your engine and fuel will thank you. I've owned and modified 225s since 1976. A previous post about a chambered muffler is right. Magnaflows are ok, but there are many good compettitors now.

    if you want that slant6 to sound very close to a v8 especially at idle use a flowtech afterburner muffler . i did that on my 225 slant 6 in my 65 dart with 2- 1/2 pipe. glass pack will make it sound like an import = fart muffler😫. trust me you will like the after burner muffler. that factory flange port is still restricting the exhaust flow

    Would have been easier to use regular twin aftermarket headers with true dual exhaust system, they use to make 3 exhaust tubes into 1 flange headers for slant six engines..

    My biggest regret with my slant 6 was not boosting it. Grab a summit turbo and holley sniper efi and let her rip. There's videos of guys in australia running 11s-12s with their boosted a bodies.

    The question is: what backward traveling waves is that boom tube going to generate? And how much power is that going to cost in a limited power environment. And at least on YT it sounds like cranky hi pitched noise. At least on YT.

    Maybe a little heat wrap on the part of the exhaust where it’s close to the pan so the exhaust isn’t heating the oil cooling off in the pan but other than that this thing is sick
