Interesting that the Klein family still owns Klein tools, so many brands have been sold off. Those came out very nice, sharp and shiny, thanks for sharing them, George.
It seems every time I go knife hunting I always find a electrician. They must have been a great every day carry back in the day 😀 👍. You did a great job on your knives and as always be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸 🙏
Hi George, thanks for a great video! I found some further info for you, "Therefore a Klein knife with a tang stamp letter "A" date code =1989. We are currently at the letter "Y" =2012. " Your knife with the 'F' is from 1994 All the best from RSA Justin
I have 3 Klein tools knives one electricians knife looks like yours tang Stamp says MKLEIN&SONS CHICAGO USA It has a K above it. I also have a hawkbill that says KLEIN TOOLS CHICAGO USA With an 0 above it. The last one is a smaller slip joint that doesn't lock with a half hawk blade. it says MKLEIN&SONS CHICAGO MADE IN USA it has a K above the tang stamp all have those plastic wood looking handles and bails on them I like them all they are nice vintage knives thanks for showing yours. 😊 also that older one may just have gunk down between the blade and the bolster and it's keeping it from going back together all the way try flushing it out really good and tapping it again. 🤷🏻♂️😁
@@2ndchancegeorge I've been scouring online but there seems to be nothing on TH-cam. There's a fair bit on button hooks (and how they were used to button up button boots) but the only references to a combined hook/blade folder is from expensive antiques dealerships. I think I'm going to start going to as many flea markets as I can until I find one.
That double H stamp, perhaps is a factory mis-stamp, perhaps it was stamped twice by mistake, those things do happen and was meant to be a single letter H???
I looked them up. They never did two letters and said it was probably from out sourcing they did back then and the company just put the HH. on for thier making time
