    'Ten' followed by 'Five' means a butter-smooth landing. Simply WOW.

      I’m not sure that’s accurate. I think what it means is a landing that isn’t a hard one. But hey, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing

      The 'retard' call overrides the altitude call. So any altitude below 20 is only announced if the thrust levers have been 'retarded' to idle.

    wow... just a question to anyone in the chat: am I not supposed to turn on both autopilots for an R-NAV approach? I'm a simulator pilot and just had a question. And fun fact: did you know that the sticker which says A321 is installed to remind pilots while taxiing that the aircraft is much longer than their usual shorter shorter A319-A320..

      Dual autopilots will only engage on an ILS approach. RNAV is always single autopilot only.

      ILS requires dual AP for redundancy. Not the same for RNAVs .

      Certificated Airman like Flight Dispatchers are required to observe flight deck operations for a minimum of 5 hours/year. Also, the privilege to jumpseat for leisure or commuting is afforded to dispatchers a s a professional courtesy. A privilege that can be revoked, so Dispatchers must be professional at all times as they are under the authority of the pilot in command.

      Airline Aircraft / Flight Dispatchers have jumpseat privileges for work and leisure. Always though, with the approval of the pilot in command. Sometimes, they’ll ask you to take a seat in the back if there’s an empty seat.

    Why is the APU turned on?

    • @nikos9711
      @nikos9711 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Switching on the apu immediately after landing is a typically standard practice at most (if not all) cargo, corporate, and airline sectors... mainly for if we would like to perform a single engine taxi-among many other things... My personal preference is to start the bleed immediately after landing-which requires an apu start-and calibrate the cabin temperature to an appropriate setting that coincides with the OAT before arriving at the gate and cutting the engines.

    At 5:09 I see disagreement between the altimeter and the radar altitude. Is that normal? elevation for KMCO is 100feet. The discrepancy is 100 feet, does it have to do with it? the altimeter reads 2360, and radar altitude 2460. So unless KMCO is bellow sea level, I don't understand. Probably something normal on the A32X?

    • @eneser184
      @eneser184 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The altitude value showed on the right hand side of the pfd is based on the local barometric pressure as you know and KMCO may not be below sea level but the area they are flying above at that exact time you mentioned should be below sea level otherwise it would be confusing. 🤔 Great catch BTW. :) But i don’t think it has to do with the aircraft type.

      @@eneser184 Thanks so much for your reply. I actually live around that area and we arent bellow sea level, so thats interesting unless is taking into account the nearby lake’s depth. Thanks!

      Radar Altimeter is not always accurate and sometimes detects highest object it is flying above.

    • @Trevor-pi5tp
      @Trevor-pi5tp ปีที่แล้ว

      Radio altitude, is actual height below the sensor in the belly, barometric altitude is above height above MSL or sea level, or in other words not ground level.
