Hey mate, I like aptasia x for aptasia. Just need to keep at them over a couple weeks. They likely reappear in a couple days, just gotta reapply till gone :) Feather dusters I have no advice on sorry, but brown sand means you need more snails. Hey Parker great tank my friend!!! I’m new to the reefing hobby and had a question, I have a Waterbox 20 cube that has 2 mochastorms and cycled with microbactor start xlm and was started with dry rock and sand. I think I’m in the “ugly stage” where I saw diatoms came and went within 2 days then started seeing light green algae on the substrate. Have you ever had this problem? I’ll greatly appreciate it if you have any guidance to a new reefer 🙏🏻 keep up the great work my friend cheers from Texas!
Hey! Hmm, sounds like you might have some bacterial slime? Are you carbon dosing? I would probably stop the microbacter if still using that as it could be contributing. Do you have a skimmer in your back chamber? That would help greatly.
@@ParkersReef hello thank you for responding so fast!! I only dosed the microbactor once when I first cycled the tank in the very beginning. I have not used carbon at all should I? And I do have a mini skimmer. Would you recommend doing a water change clean up crew?
@@ParkersReef would you recommend cleaning out the back chambers of the tank as well? Have you ever had a problem with white mucus slim before? It looks more it snot to be honest :/
It looks a lot more than it really is and there are ways around it. As the mesh has a honeycomb pattern, you can overlap the clean sections when you roll it forward. To be honest, most of the time it does this by chance, for whatever reason for the section in the video, it didn't. I'm actually surprised by the life of the fleece to be honest, I didn't think it would last a couple weeks. Here we are 12 weeks later, after adding sand, rock and cycling the tank and I've used around 1/3 of one roll. I'm kinda amazed, especially at how fine of a mesh it is

Love having them on the back wall. I have them running on the Reefcrest mode at a max of only 25% at the moment. I expect to dial that up to 60-80% when the coral grows in :)
had a few say that and I guess it does on the sides, but it hasn't impacted it's life span at all. 12 weeks in (including adding sand and rock to the tank plus a heap of organics and it is only about 1/3 of the way through a roll

Love having them on the back wall. I have them running on the Reefcrest mode at a max of only 25% at the moment. I expect to dial that up to 60-80% when the coral grows in :)
That filter roll misses lots of the material, is that right?
had a few say that and I guess it does on the sides, but it hasn't impacted it's life span at all. 12 weeks in (including adding sand and rock to the tank plus a heap of organics and it is only about 1/3 of the way through a roll
The Avast Swabie is the BEST!
My Avast swabbie has been going strong for nearly 7 years now!!!
Hey how did you make the frame for your cabinet? Cheers Greg
Hi Greg, here you go mate:

@@ParkersReef Thanks mate
Parkers reef if you don't mind me asking..... i just received my stand just like the one you have and i have 2 questions what are you using underneath the bottom glass and how did you attach the wood around the stand?
Hey Willie. All covered in other videos man. Between the stand and the tank is acrylic and industrial polystyrene.
Cabinet is covered here:

amazing $etup keep it up
thanks mate, no shortage of savings has been emptied into it so far LOL
What intensity are you running your lights on your main display mate?
Orpheks are only on or off, but have optics removed so are fairly weak.
Philips I have currently at 50%
Kessils also at 50%.
Will raise the intensity once things acclimate a little :)
Holy smokes! What do you do for a living?
I work for a local university in the information management space :)
@@ParkersReef awesomeness!
love the t-shirt
Cheers 😎
How do you like the Kamoer F4 Pro? I was thinking about getting one due to the slim form factor!
I haven’t used a lot of it’s features yet, but so far very impressed :)
You should a Achilles tang for the Dream Reef tank!
Thought about it, but I’m going to pass on the Achilles for now :) Rather a clown tang
@@ParkersReef yes those are sweet too
Hyde park you have a 360.
I need some information I'm wondering if you could help me out with it.
It's about the cade showcase 2500 series and the next size above the 2500.
I need the dimensions of both aquarium setups in feet and inches and a price please and thank you.
You’d be best off reaching out to Cade on that one sorry mate, I’m not any more privy to their pricing than you :)
I try and I keep getting cade HLA 2100 series and smaller I don't know what I'm doing wrong not to get the right once.
I'm a 🇨🇦👍👌
Best to reach out to Cade mate, I don’t have any extra info I’m sorry
It's okay thanks again anyways
Hmahli Dosing Vessels for sure!!
They’re mighty pretty hey....
@@ParkersReef They are very nice!
My sump upgrade is currently being built by Eric 😎
Can’t go wrong mate!!!
HAHAHA that elite show is filmed at my university, it's actually very popular here in spain
Oh man, you walk the same ground as Ester Exposito?!?! I envy you 😳😳😳
@@ParkersReef hahah yes all the classrooms in the show are the same lecture rooms i go to! The uni itself is pretty big on animals we have two massive koi ponds, a giant 1500 - 2000 litres planted aquarium, ducks, cats, rabbits and hedgehogs walking around the campus, also where my nano reef is at too!
Dude, what I wouldn’t do for an autograph from Ester....
But yes, you’re university is beautiful too 😅
wish i could show you, but it doesn't let me post photos here
if you're on Facebook, hit me up! You'll find me as "Sam Parker" and a picture of me playing pinball as my profile :)
Ester Exposito is SUCH a babe! My celebrity crush
Hall pass!!
Hey Mate love your tanks and the update is on point and I covet your dream reef... random suggestion could you go manual on your white balance? I watch your vids on a 55” TV (first world problems) and your camera hunting for white balance, which is especially noticeable when you talked about the idiot proof reef, is slightly annoying!
I’ll see what I can do for you mate :)
That new Cade frag looks awesome! What do you have into the dream tank at this point, if you don’t mind me asking? 30k usd? 😳
I’ll do a cost video soon, but probably not quite that much. Not far short though...
No yellow eye kole tang anymore?!
No moved him on, looking to go a white tail kole instead :)
@@ParkersReef ohhh!! Very nice!!! Tank looks great too. Keep up the great work!!
Can you tell me the dimensions of the tank???
210x90x75
Can u spell the last snail you mentioned please. 🐌
I have turbo snails, trochus snails and strombus snails in the tank :)
@@ParkersReef thanks

Would work well, but we’re set in Esther 😛
@@ParkersReef Always hard to change a name after you have chosen one, LOL. Stay well.
And we do love Esther Esposito..... 😍
i might be interested in buying a BTA. do you mind if i contact you via text? i still have it when i got the coral off you with my dad.
Ah I did get this message :)
Yeah please mate, shoot us a text 👍🏻
you have a great voice but combined with the room acoustics its like im being blasted by gimli in the Mines of Moria
Yeah the mic failed me and I couldn’t force myself to record it all again 😅
You had the perfect chance to do Pablo and Frida (kahlo) and you did not take it. I'm disappointed
We did look at Frida, but we are HUGE Ester fans :)
Hey, I wouldn't mind grabbing a rose bubble tip off ya. Let me know how you want to communicate.
Northcote local.
You can find me on Instagram under Parker’s reef or Facebook as Sam Parker :)
@@ParkersReef Awesome. I'll send you a message in the morning.
Let's just hope you didn't have to hock your hole to pay for the new Cade tank lmao.
Hahaha let’s hope! Poor David, didn’t deserve that lashing. Everything thinks TH-cam is easy, if only it was :/
@@ParkersReef LOL yeah David is a really good guy to have representing us Aussies on TH-cam along with yourself and a few others. You both should be very proud of the work you guys are doing for the hobby.
@@richardportelli1983 agreed 👍🏻
My very first fish in 2014 was a hogfish and that is the worst fish hands down.
Agreed!!
Dont want old mate annoying them $6,000 wrasses aye ;)
Hahaha Na man, not my type of fish 😅
Youre going to be making thousands per month off that frag system...
hahahaha that would be cool, but I'm not looking to make a revenue stream off it - just get some aquacultured frags out there!
@@ParkersReef im sure its going to pay for itself soon
Buy an achilles 🥺 please
Haha everyone wants Achilles..., I’d prefer a clown tang :)
@@ParkersReef if i had facebook i would have unfriended you for this answer -_-. I bought mine last month 😌
Don’t get me wrong, they’re gorgeous! Just always wanted a clown tang more and think it might be risky having both :)
