Afair, he left on his own officially but he may have been "helped" in his dicision making process. His actions did spark quite the conversation in the offices though. As many of the sensible or sane folk that needed assistance in the game wouldn't directly reach out to customer services but rather ask fellow players or consult the web prior to opening a ticket or angrily post on the forums. So the consistent interaction with players was a rather vocal or typical type of player that heavily skewed the view of our playerbase we met and assisted on a daily basis. Officially it's never been confirmed or denied if he left voluntarily, was fired, or was voluntold. When you actually stop to think about it - most gaming communities are trash, as you put. Play a competitive game like CS:GO, Rainbow six: Seige, Valorant, Call of Duty, Rocket League, League of Legends, Overwatch, so on and so forth. Most of these games have a means of judging you based upon your skill; "Ranked"/"Competitive". Again, in most of these games, you typically have to achieve some type of small achievement to begin playing in these ranked/competitive play-modes, such as; reach level 25 or win 10 games. Now, most people when playing those games, get a false sense of... "oh wow this community is so nice, helpful, etc." because once you tell someone you're new...they tend to...not be harsh on you. However, the second you go and play competitive, the very moment that you underperform, they jump on the opportunity to insult you, make you feel like shit, get upset with you, even yell and use racial or homophobic slurs. WoW... well, WoW isn't half as toxic as most of these other communities. You might have guild drama, or loot drama, maybe PvP drama, but that's childs play compared to the toxicity in those other games. I've seen players literally doxx people in Valorant lobbies, I've seen players in Rocket League telling each-other that they should just kill themselves. I've seen people in Overwatch calling their team-mates "Ni**ers". You name it, I've probably seen it. and I remember Tserics rant quite vividly. During that time, in TBC people bitched. They bitched a lot. Tseric and Ghostcrawler caught a lot of bullshit, simply because they responded, as it was their job. As stated, somebody could be new to the game, and they could go to utilize the forums, and the second that either of them responded, it'd be followeod with a barrage of people bitching and moaning about this class being too strong or this class being too weak, to the extent that most of these people just sounded like 13 year old children. Past a certain point, those trolls also knew that they could get a response out of one of them. Now...though... I think the WoW forums are pretty much dead. If they aren't, then this type of bullshittery doesn't really happen anymore. WoW has evolved past the point of people bitching about class balance. Now they bitch and cry about other stuff, like lack of quality in the game, having to beta test finished expansions on release, bad expansion gimmicks, etc, etc.
If I may suggest something for a future video segment over The Unknown Side of WoW: Tagar Spinebreaker. Tagar Spinebreaker is a Fel Orc NPC that walks around the hills surrounding the Path of Glory in Hellfire Peninsula in Outland. He seems to be a random elite in Outland with no quests associated to him (that I know of) and simply seems to serve to annoy players leveling around the area as he's generally not worth killing because his item drops aren't very good. Tagar's lore is that he's the Chieftain of the Bonechewer Clan in the main universe who was left behind on Outland when the Dark Portal closed. He was originally a normal Bonechewer Orc serving under the previous Chieftain named Hurkan Skullsplinter until he was killed by Grommash Hellscream to retrieve the Skull of Gul'dan. After Grom killed Hurkan he asked the Bonechewers who would step up to be the next Chieftain, and Tagar stepped forth. He accompanied Teron Gorefiend to Blackrock Mountain during the Second War to get the aid of Blackhand's sons, Rend and Maim but they refused, after this he witnessed Deathwing who helped them. He also accompanied Fenris the Hunter, Chieftain of the Thunderlords, to the Tomb of Sargeras to get the Jeweled Scepter of Sargeras for Ner'zhul, after this he returned to Draenor and the rest is history. Tagar also has an alternate doppelganger who joined the Shadow Council in Warlords of Draenor. He accompanied Teron'gor into the Tomb of Lights but is killed by adventurers while defending him, he's the objective of the quest "Nightmare in the Tomb."

Could you make a video on things that have stayed the same since Classic to Shadowlands? Thought about this when playing TBC, and looked at (racial for Undead-Horde) Will of the Forsaken. Don't think it's ever been changed? I know you would make an awesome video!
Tseric was 100 percent in the right when he wrote that. The crazy part is, 14 plus years later he is even MORE correct with what he wrote in comparison with today's landscape.
CM story is always relevant for me, after many forums and communities, I joined and leaved, I still get trolls like that, even in real life, I still see people who show 'the real' on their side and want everything to be their side and ignore 'the real' in other sides. even try to prevent something good, that will shake their reality.
Oh shit, now that you mention it I remember when all that tseric stuff was going down on the forums, poor guy was just getting flamed all over the place
The problem with the theory of the Jar of Ashes had anything to do with Tseric is that the item was already in game before Tseric left and/or got fired (or even posted that message you quoted). It's not impossible that a different disgruntled employee put it there, and even seems quite likely, but it's also possible it's not a reference to anything in particular and it's just meant as flavor text.
It sucks how low Paladins are on the DPS totem pole, cuz it's my favorite class in retail, and I wanted to play it in WoW Classic too before i realized how bad it was
@Quetip24 i dont know where this conception comes from. I see people using their real name and being awful people all the time. People absolutely dont need anonymity to be an awful person.
Blizzard said that they "forgot" about the player obtainable Ashbringer, but I think that's a load of shit. When they were first making references to the Ashbringer in late vanilla, they might've known that they were going to make a Northrend expansion, but the details were probably still up in the air. The Ashbringer may've even just been a hint to that. However, when TBC launched, they probably had the bare-bones story written out, the one where the Ashbringer went to...Tirion Fordring. Take this into consideration with David Wayne, and I think it's pretty obvious that they didn't "forget." Rather, I think it's more likely that they had changed the story, removed any plans for the player obtainable weapon, and were just making up an excuse that didn't immediately reveal story details of WotLK.
Tseric was absolutely right and that mentality where people troll and act like bullies shouldn’t be tolerated. I’d go so far as to say people who act like that have spent their worth as a human being and only deserve bad things to happen to them.
What happened to Tseric is sad. Unfortunately im not surprised about the toxic behavour online. But if the Peons note was from him, then its good that Blizzard desided not to remove it.
"They were afraid Paladins could heal themselves up" How? By bubbling first or by casting a 5 second Holy Light while being pushed back by 5 mobs? Paladin development in Vanilla was really interesting ^^ But this is part of what makes Classic WoW amazing, isnt it?
Yeah it was pretty funny listening to the interview because of how obviously un-broken it is. But they were super concerned that paladins would be op because of it lol
@Longwriter made an old series looking back on the history of paladins over the years called "Does Blizzard really hate paladins?", the evidence makes it obvious that some of the devs really hated paladins and by extension "hybrid" classes but especially paladins and did what they could to hold them back and make them as week as they could compared to others like warriors and rogues.
Honestly, the jar of ashes message reads 100% as a masseage from a game dev tired of being overworked and underappreciated. When WoW had come out, Blizzard had already become a pretty big company, but by the time TBC came out it was a full-on corporation. And I wasn't there, but due to my previous job, I've seen the process firsthand in many companies across many industries including videogame developers. The people on top completely lose touch with the people at the bottom as an ever-growing new layer of middle-managers and administrators become the new leaders of daily operations. And suddenly, if you are at the bottom, you no longer matter. Suddenly, creative decisions have to be approved by a marketing department that is composed mostly of people that come from the retail business. Suddenly, if you have a problem you don't tell the boss, you have to go to HR, and to them the fact that you have a problem IS the problem, and therefore YOU are the problem. Suddenly, you are not creating art, you are not developing a game, you are just -working-. One of the WC3 developers had a series of videos talking about how it was to work at the game. He explained how they would sit in a room and Metzen would explain what each mission in the campaigns was supposed to be, and then each level developer would call dibs on the ones they liked or found interesting, and then would be given a level of creative liberty I absolutely don't believe anyone has in current day Blizzard. Being there for that process can already be extremely draining and demotivating for an artist under normal circumstances. Add to that that the gaming industry is already so exploitative under normal circumstances and that the developers would be under a lot of pressure from a lot of greedy hands wanting to have their hand in the jar of the most profitable game of its time, and honestly, I'm surprsed nobody has burned the fucking Blizzard building to this day.
was expecting to see the eye of haramad - i can remember that i loved to get keys for the keychain and it was the only one i got that was rare. you also had to do an obnoxious questline and i like to think that i was the only one on the server or one of very few who did that questline at the time especially because you didnt get something good out of it (my buddy who got the insane title later in the game didnt even bother with that; maybe thats why i think its rare but idk for sure)
"also please remember to not subscribe" . Cmon bois sub to this guy been watching his videos for so fucking long, he puts a lot of work in he deserves it.
The fact that they thought being able to cast healing spells while tanking would be too powerful makes me wonder if they had ever played the game at all...
I learned about Tseric CM a long time ago. When you read beyond his posts complaining he actually does seem like he would just go on tilt after flame warring with people then cite them or censor them being petty. Like he would insert himself into every issue then ban people who disagreed with him.
I stopped playing wow as I graduated high school almost a decade ago (2012) I started playing in my 6th grade year and was very good 4x gladiator over different seasons and also in a top 50 world guild. It’s nice to watch these videos for a brief recap on something that was ever so consuming on my life(had like 200 played days on my dk by cata) without losing that time I’ve come to appreciate and try my best to take advantage of
"a lot of groundwork laid for the reveal" man remember when blizzard put time and effort into the lore of warcraft and didn't just pull shit out of their asses and retcon everything?
Apparently this guy forgot that draenei-eredar is a retcon. Illidan was written that way in BC because writers originally thought he was Kil'Jaeden, so Metzen had to last minute step in. Blood Elves were retconned to only being a renegade group that followed Kael'Thas to Outland while most of them stayed to rebuild Silvermoon. Black Citadel was retconned from the Hellfire Citadel on Hellfire Peninsula to the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley. In Wrath, Muradin was retconned to not be dead. The novel for Arthas basically undermined the whole fusing of Arthas and Ner'Zhul. Even Vanilla had retcons like Balnazzar not being dead despite getting killed by Varimathras. Take off that rose-tinted goggles. Just cuz retail has a bunch of bullcrap doesn't mean old warcraft lore didn't pull shit out of their asses and retcon everything.
@@Ryan-sn3uo you really illustrate my point well if those are the only things you can bring up compared to what blizzard has been doing ever since cata
The anti-demon weapons are incredibly useful 185 spell power against demons for casters, really useful in Kara and even for Mag assuming a better weapon with 200+sp isn't found you are completely wrong on this one
the other thing with paladins taunt.... is its the only taunt that does damage.... ALOT of damage.... if you run 2 pallies you can literally kill enemies by taunting them off one another... in low levels ( below 40) 2 taunts kill 1 enemy

Could you make a video on things that have stayed the same since Classic to Shadowlands? Thought about this when playing TBC, and looked at (racial for Undead-Horde) Will of the Forsaken. Don't think it's ever been changed? I know you would make an awesome video!
It took a few expansions, but whoever made the Jar of Ashes sure made good on their promise to make players suffer.
"I give you a 8 month wait for 9.1 as my final revenge!"
woe is you
"Remember to not subscribe"... Hmmm a little reverse Psychology... Well jokes on you, I am already subscribed buddy!
Tseric was 100 percent in the right when he wrote that. The crazy part is, 14 plus years later he is even MORE correct with what he wrote in comparison with today's landscape.
and if you think about it, what he was complaining about has leaked out across the internet and is hitting real life.
@@lordjaraxxus5418 Absolutely. No doubt about it.
That was really good. Great video and well done.
Anyone knows the name of the song Hiru used for the Caretaker Dilandrus part? 🤔
damn im so glad you are still here Hiru. I started watching in 2018 and its great to see you still pushing out great content for us normies :L
how old is the clip at 1:36 ?
It sucks how low Paladins are on the DPS totem pole, cuz it's my favorite class in retail, and I wanted to play it in WoW Classic too before i realized how bad it was
Love all your videos one of the goats of this game and genre
oh, you finally hit 60, nice job! i missed that stream
Wooop, i was waitin for next one of these. I love 'em!
Blizzard should pin Tseric's monologue in the Main hall of Blizzard HQ
The CM was very wise. If only more people listened to him. Just look at the pvp update for classic. It's shameful how vile many people get on there
@Quetip24 i dont know where this conception comes from.
Do you use an add on that reads your quest text?
what is the quest dialogue addon you are using?
Hey, where did you get those transitions from that you opened the video with?
One of the best hiru series
Tseric was absolutely right and that mentality where people troll and act like bullies shouldn’t be tolerated. I’d go so far as to say people who act like that have spent their worth as a human being and only deserve bad things to happen to them.
TBC "The Bullying Cry out"
What happened to Tseric is sad. Unfortunately im not surprised about the toxic behavour online.
But if the Peons note was from him, then its good that Blizzard desided not to remove it.
"They were afraid Paladins could heal themselves up"
How?
What's the background music?
really great video keep making these
Honestly, the jar of ashes message reads 100% as a masseage from a game dev tired of being overworked and underappreciated.
Add to that that the gaming industry is already so exploitative under normal circumstances and that the developers would be under a lot of pressure from a lot of greedy hands wanting to have their hand in the jar of the most profitable game of its time, and honestly, I'm surprsed nobody has burned the fucking Blizzard building to this day.
what what that last bit about not subbing?
was expecting to see the eye of haramad - i can remember that i loved to get keys for the keychain and it was the only one i got that was rare. you also had to do an obnoxious questline and i like to think that i was the only one on the server or one of very few who did that questline at the time especially because you didnt get something good out of it (my buddy who got the insane title later in the game didnt even bother with that; maybe thats why i think its rare but idk for sure)
I played tbc back in the day and had no idea about David Wayne!
I think I was on the wow forums maybe a handful of times and it was only if I needed to reference patch notes. I nope'd out of there pretty quick.
"also please remember to not subscribe" . Cmon bois sub to this guy been watching his videos for so fucking long, he puts a lot of work in he deserves it.
wait he born and grew up in Outland ? how long was the Alliance there for ?
20 years or so? I'm not 100% sure, it was a long time, but not like super long.
The fact that they thought being able to cast healing spells while tanking would be too powerful makes me wonder if they had ever played the game at all...
The old gods would LOVE the WoW forums. 🐙
Should do a feature on The Unknown Soldier rare in Duskwood, or Ogdrul in Trueshot Lodge
Great video!
It’s nice to watch these videos for a brief recap on something that was ever so consuming on my life(had like 200 played days on my dk by cata) without losing that time I’ve come to appreciate and try my best to take advantage of
10:20 this guy got fed up with the fact that our generation is the generation of selfish psychopaths, and that realization pretty clean.
"a lot of groundwork laid for the reveal"
man remember when blizzard put time and effort into the lore of warcraft and didn't just pull shit out of their asses and retcon everything?
Just cuz retail has a bunch of bullcrap doesn't mean old warcraft lore didn't pull shit out of their asses and retcon everything.
dude tbc had some of the messiest fucking lore in the game's history lol
@@Ryan-sn3uo you really illustrate my point well if those are the only things you can bring up compared to what blizzard has been doing ever since cata
So we sympathizing retcons now huh
@@2toothsome Some of WOWs best stories came after/during Cata tho
Wolfheart for example
Amazing video
The anti-demon weapons are incredibly useful
185 spell power against demons for casters, really useful in Kara and even for Mag assuming a better weapon with 200+sp isn't found
you are completely wrong on this one
the other thing with paladins taunt.... is its the only taunt that does damage.... ALOT of damage.... if you run 2 pallies you can literally kill enemies by taunting them off one another... in low levels ( below 40) 2 taunts kill 1 enemy
Poor Tseric, having to deal with whiny entitled self-centered gaming nerds. I don't envy him.
And looking at the comments here, these people sure don't change do they? It's still always completely someone else's fault or somone else who is wrong.
But what about the dancing skeleton hiding in shadow labs?
That might be a reference to Harry Potter and the Portrait of What Looked Like a Large Pile of Ash.
You forgot the reference to Teemo from league of legends in falcon watch
Did LoL exist in 2008?
Wait a minute… You are the guy from “TheDuelLogs” aren’t you? I have been following both channels from long long ago and just realized that!!!
Well, let me tell you that David Wayne in Renault Mograine...
On the paladin taunt thing, they really did not playtest back then huh
