One small correction to what Martin said at 2:35: the mythical creature that sits on sleepers chests and gives them paralysis is an Alp (Germanic folklore) or Maere in Old English (from which the term nightmare is derived). By contrast, mummers were groups of travelling medieval English musical play performers (an individual actor was a mummer) who performed folk plays that often combined Christian and pagan elements. They are still performed as part of preserved folk traditions in rural parts of England during Christmas and before harvest time.
I’m going to give this a try. Swap the Cramps A Date with Elvis for the Smiths single Shoplifters of the World cuz it features Elvis, then you could use Strangeways Here We Come for Songs the Lord Taught Us
After some more thought: AC/DC-"Highway To Hell" and Riot-"Fire Down Under". Triumph-"Just A Game" and Push-"4 The Love Of The Game". Scorpions-"Blackout" and Shooting Star-"Silent Scream". Eddie Money-"Where's The Party" and Dane Donohue-"S/T" Helix-"Wild In The Streets" and Pat Travers-"Heat In The Street". Great White-"Shot In The Dark" and Stone Fury-"Burns Like A Star". Duke Jupiter-"White Knuckle Ride" and Shooting Star-"Hang On For Your Life". Robin Trower-"Victims Of The Fury" and "Hotwire-"S/T". AC/DC-"The Razors Edge" and Judas Priest-"British Steel".
Entertaining episode. I kept trying to compare Uriah Heep’s Very ‘Eavy… UK cover with something, but couldn’t come up with something (certainly not something by XTC).
If only I could stay up until 1am to watch this over in Europe, I'd take on this challenge!

P.S. the UK cover of Salisbury has a tank on it - that really would cause some difficulty breathing if it rolled across your chest!
Import of Salisbury by Heep and Sabbath's Paranoid
Martin , you may want to look up the definition of Mummer
