  • I noticed I was spending an inordinate amount of time and energy navigating through plug-in menus, time and energy I could be using having fun actually using the plug-in I was looking for and being creative and productive. I started to tailor new plug-in menus using the Cakewalk Plug In Manager, but discovered I'm able to actually reorganize the default plug in categories to suit my needs. I'm really excited for this!

I'm new to Cakewalk, this was useful. Honestly, I was sceptical about Cakewalk but the more I know about it the more I'm liking it. I was even considering switching to Mac just to use Logic but so far Cakewalk seems to suit my needs perfectly and I'm really gelling with the workflow.

Hey Datros, long story short: I don't know (and from what I've tried tinkering around with: I don't think a VST category reset is possible).
Question though: if everything gets reset, where would the plugins that you've added since the first install of Bandlab go? I'm thinking they would need to be categorized anyways, no?
Sorry I don't have a better answer. I think if I was at a point where I wanted to start my plugins organization from scratch, I would just open up a new folder and start deciding how I want to see my plugins.

That's definitely a good workflow action to take, when you know the plugs you want to use. Since I've curated my plug-in menus, now I'm able to consolidate all the similar types of plugs so that I can maybe select an effect that I hadn't used in a while. When the plugs were scattered across categories, that would be more effort spent searching through plugs rather than having the options at my disposal, but yeah, when you know which plug you're looking for, the keyboard is definitely the way to go. Thanks for the tip!
