Interference on trig TY 91 VHF radio, investigation and rectification

Sometimes when you encounter radio issues, you might need to lay off moaning at the avionics guys and have your maintenance provider check out sources of interference from the aircraft.
We are so used to metal aeroplanes not giving many interference problems it easy to forget that the same principles apply, shielding, grounding and bonding, as with wooden or composite aircraft.

Good vid, for troubleshooting you might just run it on one mag also. You aren't the only one that has problems with Slick mags, we are still finding loose impulse coupling rivets at flight school on less then 1 year old mags and this is Dec. 2023, quality inspection at Slick is piss poor, they are not following their own maint. manuals.

You can also use cable snap on ferrites on the ends of cables, ends of power to the transceiver, end of coaxial from antenna and even on cables that are going in to the transponder.
