I enjoy watching a man that knows his trade and shares his tricks and tips. This ole car come a long long way since you've been working on it. Just taking care of the body lines themselves and the gaps makes the car not look like an ugly duckling anymore, now it's starting to look like a pretty decent cruiser.
the progess is incredible, from where that car was to now....I can't imagine the owner of the car seeing his car in the video and getting exited with the progress, it must be an amazing feeling. Thanks Fitz for another amazing video.
A lot going on adjusting doors . As an ameteur builder, I fell into all the traps you mentioned when building my '68 Chevelle. I learned a lot here, Tony.
Nice nice Fitzee. Great Tips ! Step by step and your finesse and control is great. A guy can really make a lot more work for himself if not careful in those areas. Good teachings sir 👍🏻✌🏻love it
I was working at a Chevy dealer back in 78. A guy came in with his brand new Silverado. The door was sagging a little and wanted if we could correct it. I said sure pull it in. You should have seen his face when I went to my box and came back with my 2lb hammer!😮😂 I sprung the bottom hinge and it fixed right up! He was sweating it at first!😂 Great memories!😊
Even allowing for the fact you're 6 months behind the calendar, and walking upside down to boot, that is some nice work verging on incredible. A friend of mine who made the odd car body from both mild steel and Aluminum was visibly impressed. He has decided that at 87 he's not going to challenge your methods especially since he considers that electric welding is only excusable if the manufacturer used inexcusable materials. Anything that can't be oxy-acet welded or brazed is designed to crack and corrode PDQ. He's nearly as biased as me. But his wife assures me, he really is impressed; you may even have a couple new viewers Thanks.
Great video! Looks excellent….you make it look so easy. I know you have to adjust door to 1/4 first as the 1/4 ain’t moving, but, on something like this you had to make your 1/4 lip and then fit the door…….fantastic approach to a tough repair.
An issue like this can be a bit confusing as far as in what sequence you address the fitment of the door & fender. I have the same issues on my '49 Styleline, so this has been very informative for me. Thanks for posting! New subscriber.
Love watching your work Fitz and i always pick up tips that i can use in future. I love it when i get a notification of a video that you have posted. Great content and thank you for sharing :)
it is the one of the kind !!! better to keep it well stored as this car is so unique that it is not really repairable in the case of an accident. very good job on that custom car.
Thank you again for another great video. Your teaching and giving us amateurs invaluable lessons and I know I really appreciate all of your help. Thank again
What's amazing is how decent this car looked at first, from 10 feet away. Like most projects. the more you dig the more you have to fix, if you want to do it right. This car will be amazing when you are done with the body, solid, straight and much much cleaner overall! I like the chair technique, I usually use a lightweight Harbor Freight floor jack I can easily raise or roll with the door on it. :)
Wow. From 20:10 to 20:37, if I hadn't followed you for years I would swear it was magic you performed, Fitzee! And even though I know what you did and how, I still am left with awe. Simply mesmerizing. 🖖
I just came across your video by chance. You gotta be a Newfoundlander. Awesome. I miss the island. There are lots of repair videos I subscribed just so I could listen to a familiar voice.
Thanks once again Tony It just goes to show that ................................... Youth and Enthusiasm is no replacement for Old age and treachery Oops I mean Experience ;) #StickAround!
I love how clean your welds turn out. I have a 71 challenger, and the metal is about as thick as tissue paper and I’m constantly chasing the holes I burn into it :( it’s so frustrating and disheartening. At the end of it all, for all the work and effort, it always just turns out “ok” :(
Hmmm…..I had similar issues on 37 Chevy coupe when I suicide the doors and quickly corrected most of the mismatched body lines by playing around with body shims at the B pillar.
Sometimes the biggest battle is just trying to figure out how to do 2 man jobs by yourself, a guys really got to get creative sometimes to get stuff done 👍
The confidence you give me, while working on my own project, is unmatchable. Thanks Fitz!
I’m certain I would have spun off to disaster if I hadn’t found Fitzee.

It's always such a pleasure to watch how your mind works with making these repairs, Tony. Thanks for the tips!
Take note welding padiwans, patience and careful planning ensures that the 'torch ' will guide you 😂 Amazing work as always Fitzy - Thank you
Always a good evening when I can watch and learn from your tips and experience . Now I just need to work on my memory .
Well Done and Thanks Fitzee!

I imagine they're dying inside learning about everything they did wrong.
Mr. Fitzgerald, your mechanical mind melding with metal manipulation meets many men's manifest machinations. Whew, that was tough!
The great start to the weekend. A vid from Tony. 😊

Fixing other peoples messes can be real challenging. Nice job Tony
I say , 40 + years of know how here. No 20 something body guy could match your expertise . VERY WELL DONE !!
You are definitely a perfectionist. Made my Saturday night,so many tips. Thank you!😊
Great video. I never get tired of watching you work your magic. You have such a pretty fluffy girl wandering around your shop.
That was amazing to watch the gaps come right into where you want them. Thanks for the tip on the door hinge. I have to remember that one.
Nice nice Fitzee. Great Tips ! Step by step and your finesse and control is great. A guy can really make a lot more work for himself if not careful in those areas. Good teachings sir 👍🏻✌🏻love it

I learn something new every video i watch. Thank you!
I use a stiff wire cup wheel in the grinder to peel out old fill. Gets into body lines without removing metal
Glad to see a new film. Was getting withdrawal symptoms!! Still the best- Good on ya!

Peanut checking out what you've been up to. Won't be long I suppose until peanut retires to the heated condo for the winter.
I forgot, Is this your car?
Lotta hours into it hard work.
Thirty thousand dollar fix.
It's a customer's car. Tony is just fixing it.
You really are a master!
Yes sir.. that's going to a long way away from the mis-shapen thing that you started with.
Looking good.

Great video as usual
Another marvellous masterclass again Tony, one question regards door rubbers for a modified door. Do you make them to suit yourself?
They can be tricky as most aftermarket rubbers are very tight fitting and need time to settle.
Some good tips on this video
Nice work, I learn something every video. BTW you have a hemi in that thing?
Shhhhh it's has a LS!
I can only imagine how many hours you’re going to have in this car. Also when in Newfoundland swing by Fitzee’s fabrication and get a manicure lol
Always good content
Nice!!
