    Gotta say it’s wonderful that he gives credit to the people who keep him at the top. Most people who gain power and popularity usually forget the people who helped make it possible. Gordon Ramsay is a self made man with a huge heart. He’s tough and critical, but very fair and very sensitive to people and is always looking to bring the best out of them. He truly is a humanitarian and a wonderful human being and we are lucky to have him in this lifetime to experience what he has to offer. Even though I’ll never eat at his restaurant I still enjoy everything he does that I can.

      Yes because he knows how hard his employees have worked since he use to be a waiter back in the days in Paris, not knowing the language. Not many people are like Gordon, and that’s a shame, that the world needs more people like him.

      Taco Thursdays He didn’t come from money. He waited tables in France and started cooking 30 years ago and got very lucky to train with the best chefs of that era. He took that education and ran like a banshee with it. Now he passes that education on to likeminded amateur chefs and helps so many along his journey in life and through his many television shows. Beneath that hard shell is a truly passionate and caring man.

      In such high class restaurants you generally go there for the taste, not to get masses and be full. They also tend to serve way more dishes in a row (like a menu) instead of one thing.
      There are some things that are just worth paying five times the price. Especially for a taste you never had tasted before. At least that's my opinion.

    I have been a chef for 35 years. Working in New Orleans, LA and Houston. What I admire the most about Gordon is, his true dedication to the quest for perfection. He understands people have to work hard for money and he always gives his best. He is a master at staffing and training staff. Gordon hats off to you brother. Never ever take your foot off the gas and your only as good as your last plate. Gospel according to Chefs.

    Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is special to me because of its uniqueness. It runs on passion, adrenaline, and more importantly, creativity. Every time you step through those doors, you feel special. Every time you light up that stove, it feels unique, and every dish that flies off that hot plate, it’s magical.
    Having spent the last 30 years mastering my craft, the experience I’ve gathered and the knowledge I have goes into every dish that gets created, but more importantly, run by a team that are equally talented, hungry, ambitious, and at the top of their game. The man, running the kitchen behind Gordon Ramsay, is Matt Abé.
    one of the most talented, one of the most driven and one of the most passionate chefs in Britain today. Having that young, tenacious, ambitious creativity, in those plates today helps to keep Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at the top of its game.
    It’s fronted by the most amazing maître d, Jean-Claude, who eats, sleeps, drinks, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. There’s no maître d anywhere in the world with that level of insight, memory, and passion. Jean-Claude’s service in my mind is the best in the world.
    The head sommelier, James Lloyd. James’ pallet as a top sommelier is as finessed as a young chef. His encyclopedia mind of the blend of the grape and the understanding of the dish that was matched brilliant with that wine comes down to years and years of experience.
    Restaurant Gordon Ramsay over the last 20 years has helped to reinstate the importance of British cuisine. It’s highlighted some of the best produce grown locally. I’ve always said from day one, “The better the product, the little it needs known to it.”. You never ever forget for decades about the flavour. That’s the memory you can never buy.
    For me, the secret of the next 20 years is to stay on top of the game. Never, ever, take your foot off the gas, and remember; you’re only as good as your last plate. Restaurant Gordon Ramsay to me is more than just a restaurant. It’s my life.

    Heroes get remembered, but legends never die... I'm not lying I have a tear in my eye. Everything this man has done, everything he's been through has all finally paid off. He never stops, and he fights. Even though I am not seeking a career in the culinary field, he will always be my hero. I had to do a project in my high school culinary class (I took it for fun) on a chef. For the first semester I got him. And all of my research made me more curious about him and what he does, so I read his autobiography. Since then, I have nothing but respect for him. He's human, sure. We all are. We all have our flaws. But still, everything he overcame to get to where he is now is amazing. Even in being a dad he does well. He could have easily gone down the same path his dad did, but he didn't. He is actually committed to his wife and kids.
    Thank you Chef Ramsay for being you, and for being a role model that I (and many others) can look up to. Even though your handshake alone is intimidating (in Vegas when you were opening Hell's Kitchen, I was able to shake your hand) you're still awesome.

    Gordon Ramsay is my favorite celebrity chef because he's not only the most entertaining, when he's not trying to amp up for the cameras on a show, he's genuinely one of the most passionate people about cooking I've ever seen. He knows when to be an entertainer and when to turn that off and he seems like a genuinely nice guy who cares deeply about his passion. As someone who can't cook very well, it's amazing that I'm absolutely inspired to pursue my passions with that level of love and sweat that goes into it

  • @R2Bl3nd

    I really appreciate Gordon's passion to making the best quality experience possible. However it seems like that definitely comes at a huge cost to the customer. I would love to see Gordon's approach to a more low cost, approachable dining venue that the common man can go to to get nearly the same quality experience, but at an affordable price.

    • @deftomnivore215
      @deftomnivore215 6 ปีที่แล้ว +63

      R2Bl3nd well thats kinda the problem, im sure that if you could get this high quality service/food at an affordable price you would see lots of high quality restaurants around but high quality cost money and with lower quality comes lower prices. Thats why you dont see this type of service at a place like chilies for example, its a good restaurant but its not as high quality as this one therefore its more affordable.

    • @R2Bl3nd
      @R2Bl3nd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Chocolate Swirl I see what you mean, I think though that there can be a much better balance between food quality and cost. Restaurants like Applebee's and TGI Fridays really compromise on the quality of food. It would be interesting to see if it's possible to put out superb quality food on a large scale and have it still be affordable. I'm sure there is plenty of room for improvement. It's currently not really possible for the average person to get a very high-quality fine dining experience. I think that with enough thought and planning, it might be possible.

    This is inspiring Gordon says "never ever take your foot of the gas, and remember your only as good as your last plate". I feel we all can take that to heart, I don't care if your religious or not if we do anything for god for others, we need to do it to the best of our ability. There may be some one at the other end of that plate, even a smile , a good meal or tray if your in the food bissiness might be what someone needs to show you care about what you do and that you care for others! I like Gordon Ramsay and his cooking shows even though he can say things I wish he wouldn't but he puts his best out trying to help and inspire others we should try to become better our self in our own crafts and living while looking to encourage others in the right way. After all when its all over what will people remember from our life where we as good as our last plate?

Each time one waiter was going around the place to see if we are missing anything and have filled our wine glass or bread right the next second it was gone. The food was delicious. Was there March 2016 on a Monday night. Fully booked. Jean Claude has these insights about anything you talked, notably our hometown in San Diego. James was charming and incredibly attentive. Matt Abe was quiet but didn't want to bug him while he was on the pass. One of the best foods you'll ever eat. And in my opinion, cheaper than some of the 3 star restaurants in USA. Gordon no longer cooks at any of his kitchens but is involved here and there. Every millennial like me has missed out on the height of gastronomy in the 80's & 90's when Ramsay, Marco, Guy, Joel still cooked in their kitchens but Matt Abe is incredibly powerful in his flavors.

    I'd love to go there.
    I'd order sushi.
    I'd tell Jean-Claude to get me Gordon Ramsay in person.
    I'd yell to him: *IT'S RAAAWWW!* and the wine to it is dry.
    And smack the food with my bare hands.
    jokes aside, this video was a joy to watch. I graduated from a secondary college for tourism, I had 4 years of cooking and service at this school (10 hrs per week each, plus additional theory lessons), got the wine sommelier and cheese sommelier certificate, and 5 years of active service in practice after I graduated. I know the passion behind that, and how much effort, sweat, thought, eagerness and food knowledge goes into every dish being served to our guests. I had bad luck with the owners and became father, though, so I eventually quit working in gastronomy for once and for all. best choice in my life so far. I love cooking for my young family instead.

      I like how English people, and by extension Europeans, interpret everything Americans say and do through a false lens of smug superiority, based on a straw man example of what they think a typical American is, while their cities are being overtaken by violent migrants and jihadists, because they aren't allowed to arm themselves and they're afraid of being called racist and being arrested for making the wrong kinds of Facebook posts. But I'm just a stupid American, what do I know? :)
