This is a handy video but my problem is the electric start died and is no longer available and the pull start retracts ok but I’m not strong enough or something is preventing it from pulling. Checked the paddles and the do take some effort so I’ve lubricated them. I don’t see an obstruction. I pulled the cover off the plug and tried to pull it. Cannot find vids about this issue
Where is it where's your primer bulb and why did you show us a torque wrench if you aren't going to use it? What do you think 7 foot pounds for the spark plug?
Don't use a torque wrench as a breaker bar! If you need a breaker bar then you can slide a pipe over the end of a ratchet for extra leverage. For a spark plug you shouldn't need a breaker bar, at least not on an aluminum head. Maybe on an old steel block if it's been sitting in the back yard for years.
Have the exact model and cannot get the engine to start. My brother put an old, bad mixture of gas/oil in the tank and it has since been flushed out. Carb bowl and bolt have been cleaned as well. Starting cord is locked up and when trying to electric start, it simply makes a loud electronic hum/warning noise. It refuses to even TRY to start. Im a bit new to this but I learn quickly as I go. Could you possibly make a suggestion as to what I could try next? Thank you so much.
@TheRedneckChris Yes, you can find them at any small engine shop as well as eBay, amazon, and other online retailers. there will be a video of me replacing the primer on this one, soon.
First, it's thirty thousands of an inch gap. Second, the hole to the plug is small and a short length of fuel line slipped over the end of the plug once it is lose gives you a handle to remove and install the plug. Saves removing the back cover to retrieve the plug you dropped.
You shouldn't use torque wrench as a breaker-bar, unless you don't care that it reads wrong; considering you didn't use it, guess it doesn't matter.... That isn't a "feeler-gauge" that is a wire-type spark-plug gap gauge. When you "change" a spark plug, don't you normally put a new one in?
Just what I needed. A short video showing how easy it is to change the spark plug. Thanks! (I am going to change the spark plug on my Toro CCR 3650.)
Very helpful video! Thank you for recording in HD! Makes all the difference when working with smaller parts. =)
Thanks! this was very helpful. I've needed to change the plug on mine but the manual didn't say a damn thing about it.

That's a queer feeler gauge, I've never seen one like that before.
So obvious you haven’t seen many tools in your life then
