I really wish I could find a small smartphone for my first time owning one. The smallest I've been able to find are about 5.5 inches long. Doesn't anyone make something in the 4ish inch range that works with Verizon? =\
Watching on a Oneplus 3. Best decision I've made in a while regarding technology. Insanely fast. Good amount of storage. Decent cameras. Nice looking. And my favorite part..... The awesome customization on it. I love the black setting screen. It gives me an techgasm
Watching and superiorly hearing on a ZTE Axon 7. Best decision I've made in a while regarding technology. I am really glad I picked this over the One Plus 3. :)
+Leon Kernan weirdly, all the tech TH-camrs are reviewing the 3t right now. The phone isn't even that hyped. It's almost like oneplus has been paying reviewers...
Ignitablegamer Nope, just the same thing with some neat improvements under the hood and more money to lay out- wait, did they pull an apple here? Jokes beside, this is still a really good phone which I want badly! Nice callback, too ;)
now that Apple has implemented the ear piece bottom speaker combo? they got that idea from HTC, but then again Apple is more mainstream, I just wanted to fanboy for a second.
Surprisingly I read somewhere probably xdadevelopers that there is a root setting for Google Pixel similar stereo speaker setup. My Nexus 5X can be changed from mono to stereo with similar root setting edit. bottom line is, it is possible for these devices to have stereo speakers as long as you know what you're doing
LinusMLGTips: Guess what, ZTE is releasing an 'enhanced' AXON 7 for $500! www.androidpolice.com/2016/11/21/ztes-new-enhanced-axon-7-features-force-touch-beefier-specs-500-price-tag
Axon 7- Fantastic speakers- System UI and Camera Not good. OP3- Battery life and charging speeds great. Camera is decent. No 1440p Alcatel 4S- Camera is the best in $400 range. Screen is better. Light weight doesn't add heft to the phone making it feel less premium. Alcatel 4s is the best IMO.
Yea I watch some interviews of Carl Pei CEO of OP ... His visions seems pretty good and he cares about build quality and minor details ... and also he is inspired by Apple .
Hey Linus. Seeing how you are well involved with Massdrop (all your videos feuture them) Could it be possible for you to request them to get something done about people wanting to use Massdrop outside the US? Currently for us living in Europe, if something costs 5$ or 100$, no matter what, when it gets imported in Europe, the import taxes are 70-80$ no matter what electornic you buy. Add the 20$ for packaging and transport cost and it's just not worth using it, while it seems to be a pretty good service.
Simple!!! Expandable memory allows the device to function as an unlimited capacity iPod for music, videos, pictures, as well as a data repository for educational and/or business presentation use - thus alleviating the need to carry separate laptops. And hence yet one more reason devices like those of Apple who are eliminating IO interface ports are missing a large section of the market who use these devices for more than just phones or texting or watching TH-cam or Netflix videos! Now go clean up your bedroom in mommy's house before she has to tell you to do so....
I get that. Maybe I'm just being too modern, but I put almost everything important on cloud storage, so i'm not dependant on 1 device or physical copy. Almost all my pictures are on cloud storage either so that frees up a lot of space on my device. And considering these days we have wifi and 4G basically everywhere that's never a problem. I'd like to use my phone for a lot of stuff, but for me there's a limit because i'm already too clustered on my phone for almost everything. Anything productive i'd rather do on a windows tablet with actual enough screenspace and keyboard. The only thing I can ever imagine needing more than 32gb is actual transfer of big files yes. I think people needing huge capacities have a digital hoarding problem :p
Why don't you use YOURS little brain and take a second to realise that I am defending you on this argument, but why would you right? Typical Internet kid. Damn, you didn't even have to click the link, the link itself describes the content.

Honestly the 6p is a great phone i don't think its worth upgrading unless ur phone is cracked or has some problem. If it runs fine why bother wasting money
Fardeen Yaqub Battery life problems since the update and I've honestly have gotten bored with it. I have a buyer who will give me close to 300.00 bucks for it to help offset the cost of the OnePlus 3t
Mike Cox 300? sell immediately!!! I sold mine for that price , I got bored and battery wasn't as good ..I use my backup Moto x pure , but will buy the op3t, soft gold of course .just love all the customization. after all that's what Android is all about right !!!

I'm not a huge cell phone fan rather buy what I need but after your last review bought the Oneplus 3 and have to say its worth every penny. Though my only complaint was availability here in the UK. I ended up having to buy mine while in the US. For me the dual sim feature is priceless and works flawlessly giving me quick access to both my UK and US sims. Although had a strange experience a few days ago while setting up a friends S7. The S7 actually felt slow and and even last generation in comparison.
*I'm still perfectly happy with my OnePlus X.* I way prefer the smaller size over all these giant phones coming out right now, It's less than half the price, and the downgrade in power has never really given me any moments where I've been annoyed at the speed with which it launches apps or in any other scenario. The only downside for me is the cameras, but not being someone who feels the need to post every minute of my life on social media, it doesn't really bother me.
You can change DPI to get 5 wide icons, but you are right, it should be built in. I've been using my OnePlus 3 since launch. Only complaints are the speaker location and power button location.
"...I start taking notes on all the little things that jump out of the screen and make me sit up and take notice, a strategy that really doesn't work as well when you're basically reviewing the same phone." This is why Linus has trouble with iPhone reviews.
A lot more powerful. you would not be able to tell though, because iOS is very well optimized but I'd say that so far the One Plus 3T UI is the absolute best when it comes to Android.
welllll results are in the oneplus 3t is faster than the iphone 7 plus sorry guys won the test for opening apps and also the one for opening aps from ram. iphone is a disgrace.
Kinda annoyed that they redid the phone only a month after I got my 3, but honestly the improvements that they made don't quite seem substantial enough to me to justify even the slight cost increase. 13% more battery life sounds impressive, but unless I'm constantly using the phone all day, I usually still have around 60% when I go to plug it in at night. Perhaps the slight performance increase from the 821 will make some happy, who knows... Still, amazing phone and I recommend it to anyone who's looking into flagship phones, since it delivers essentially the same result at a fraction of the cost.
Some of these features are built into Android at this point like the call blocking. I've got a Pixel XL running Android 7.1 and I'm able to block numbers in the built-in dialer app. There wasn't much detail when Linus mentioned more control over battery saver features but the Battery saver and Battery optimization are also built into stock Android although I'm not sure how long that's been present along with the call blocking.
With 64 or 128 GB of much faster built in flash memory, that is completely obsolete unless you're some extreme power user who keeps movies or your entire collection of porn on your phone.
I'm a random wind storm. Shaky Shaky. When (if, sometimes) my phone bites the dust and stop working, I want to be able to take out the irreplaceable photos I have taken. If there's only internal storage, those photos are essentially lost forever. Oh, and don't bring up "Cloud storage/backup" stuff, because not all of ua have large data plans or fast internet.
i recently got a oneplus 3 for my birthday. ive always liked oneplus since oneplus 1. i love it. by far my favorite smartphone. ill probably always stick with oneplus now. as for the oneplus 3t. its meh. the only thing that would have been useful for me is the battery. i dont care about the upgraded storage (im sitting at 8 gbs out of the 52 available gbs. i dont think i'd ever use more than 32 gbs on a smartphone in my lifetime) and the camera, cause i dont take pictures that often, definitely not selfies. the very slightly higher processor is nothing really. (only 2 of the 4 cores are slightly faster "Quad Core, Kryo™: 2x 2.35 GHz, 2x 1.6 GHz" vs the oneplus 3 "Quad Core, Kryo™: 2x 2.2 GHz, 2x 1.6 GHz". and i prefer the graphite over the gunmettle. plus i have a case, so neither matters in the end. the only problem with oneplus is its slightly harder to find cases for. as most retailers only cares about flagship phones.
Had my 3 for a few months now and I love it. Will be upgrading to this because I have someone already wanting to buy mine and i want that 128GB storage.
They nailed it like always. The only thing I would change would be making the body a little thicker, possibly making it so it could have expandable storage or an even bigger battery, so that there would be no camera bump. I hate camera bumps.
I own this phone, and personally I love it. Super smooth and snappy, and it look gorgeous. Only thing, I live in Australia and it's not available officially here! Which means band 24 (the most used 4g band here) isn't available so I often have to switch to 3g to get signal. Though I knew this when buying this phone, so despite the nuisance I'm not too disappointed, though it would be nice if it had been added to the T.
best intro ever. if this is the first of the new writers, great job hiring them! edit: watching from my oneplus 3, did not know about double click to launch camera. was worth watching again. edit 2: monk plus worth it. gave mine away, will get second pair. good usb mic monitors.
I have a one plus 3 and highly recommend this over any other phone, if you are In the market for a new phone try something new other than and iphone 7, this company is outstanding, and Its amazing to see how the OP3 is optimized with Google. again get this phone if you can, I always have people asking me what kind of phone I have, I'll say OP3 and they will be like so it's the four but I enjoy being able to tell people that my phone can outperform theirs if they are trying to argue that theirs is better
Jason Yu Me too, but so what? Doesn't make the original any less awesome, the differences are really minor. +10℅ speed and +13% battery, not really that big of a deal, especially when you need to pay 10℅ more (or +20℅ for the 128GB model). I think the original is still slightly more bang for the buck, but I wouldn't mind having double the storage though. :D
It was great to watch you guys do a review of a phone without a skin on it. Can see what the phone actually looks like! I get the sponsor part, but perhaps for future phone reviews just include a few shots of what the phone actually looks like.
i really like you way of looking into things and the way you do your PC related researches... Can you do a comparison video on external GPU for laptop via PCI-E slot, compare it with PC and see its limitations like how much FPS lost due to bandwidth shortage for modern GPU's ... please
Zsomer Grotesque Selfie camera is already brilliant, as is the battery and performance so after watching this video, I'm not too fussed about missing out on it. However if I'd have held off then I would've gotten the T.
I love the silent mode. Can enable it for let say 45min when i go for lunch or make it go on every time when i have something in calendar (have a lecture).
Oneplus 3 is the phone I have.. And I was butt hurt about the 3T for a while.. But because the phones are so similar and I know the software is coming here as well... I'm genuinely feeling better! Oneplus have become a brilliant company with drastic improvements.
I'm watch this on an oneplus 3 and for me personally the opposing volume down and power are great because it's so easy to take screenshots, and while I never had problems only pressing one button I did find it hard to press two non opposing buttons on other phones
I got the One Plus 3 after I saw your review. The ONLY thing I don't like about it is the shape. And that's more of a comment on flagship phones(looking at you iPhone and Pixel!). After having the Moto X for 2 years, I miss that curved back and wish more phones would do something more ergonomic instead of the flat design. You'd think that companies would design a *hand-held* device to be comfortable to hold in your *hand*.
I can see how 4K on a phone screen would be overkill, but as a smartphone photographer, 1440p is nice for setting manual focus. 1440p also adds a ton of detail in TH-cam videos that stream at higher resolutions, such as this one.
I have a 160$ Motorola Moto G. It is more than enough, it can do everything you need and expect from a smartphone. I really don't get how people pay more than 600 frikin' bucks for a phone. Faster processsor, faster gpu..but for what? Good Camera, okay..but if you want to shoot photos get a better stand alone camera.
What performance you are talking about mate? Its not like people are gonna edit videos on a smartphone. If someone wants to play games on a smartphone than the need for extra performance is understandable. But if you do only the basic tasks and use some apps on a daily basis besidess making calls than you don't really need this much power, that's just a waste. Just saying.
MasteerCheef Not but i mean what do they require of the phone to justify that processin g power? Do they render anything on their phones? Yeah I get some Samsung Users use it for VR. But that's a small amount of people..what does the average user use his flagship phone for? Most of it is just money grabbing advertisement imo. "It's faster, and more expensive! Buy it now!"
Sandipan Saha Yeah that is what I am saying too. You dont need a high performing Smarthphone is you use it for basic Apps, Texting, Calling and occasionally some amateur photographs.
Nupid well flagship phones usually have more premium stuff but also something to remember that these phones the company backs as their flagship also gets faster updates Unlike theirs other models Motorola is pretty good with that with at phones but others aren't so much That is also something to consider Obviously mid range phones also have their flagship phones That is where you have to give up some premiums for other stuff It all preference at the end of the day But you are right. People do buy more than they can use
I own the OnePlus 3 and it is hands down the best phone in the world for the money. Great battery life from the thin phone. Feels more premium than any other phone I've held. My only complaint is the short length of the charging cord, and the charging cord is bright red, stands out too much when I'm charging my phone at work. I guess you could use that as a pro, thinking you have a Beats by Dre bright red charging cord... lol
I hate you Linus! You put up awesome reviews I have to watch so I don't sleep. By the way have you finished the asoiaf series yet? I am so pumped for the tv show to be back despite knowing what is gonna happen
Awesome to hear both your review on the 3 and 3t, can't wait to hear how things turn out for you on the 5. Also, the 3t is officially discontinued now.
Massdrop has pretty poor international rates. If you are used to buying something and have it shipped immediately then it will not be a pleasant experience either. The products are ordered at the completion of the drop. Depending on the nature of the item the shipping could take an additional week or more before it even has tracking info. If you know what you are getting into and want a niche item for a good price in the US Massdrop is great.
I remember editing this.

Not that i can see on their channel page
i thought so too. they haven't
I'm due for an upgrade this holiday and would love to get a review. It looks the most interesting to me and I'm probably going to get it anyways.

+Leon Kernan weirdly, all the tech TH-camrs are reviewing the 3t right now. The phone isn't even that hyped. It's almost like oneplus has been paying reviewers...

Jason Bugatti If they had gotten rid of the original OnePlus3 and made this one available for $400 it would be amazing.
The 7 wasn't boring.
$480 for a *128gb*? I payed about $600 for a *16gb* iPhone 6 worst decision ever. Will be getting the *OP3t 128gb*

Patrick Alcatel is pretty trash in this price range. ONEPLUS 3(T) really kills it.
he didn't mention the Sapphire back camera lens cover.

Why can't they just come out with a cooler name instead of the '1+ 3T'....
SlyFox or "SlyFox"
because it doesnt effect the product, and a simple name scheme is better than what we get from razer/apple.
SlyFox maybe it was supposed to be 1+ 3+ but someone messed up and thought it said 3 t and went with it
first thing that came to my mind is 3T^2 XD

Yes but a test to confirm this would be good
A lot more powerful. you would not be able to tell though, because iOS is very well optimized but I'd say that so far the One Plus 3T UI is the absolute best when it comes to Android.
Nope it is not. Just compare the A10 with the SD821. The one in the Apple iPhone 7 literally doubles the performance against the SnapDragon.
Yes Iphone 7 is faster but It's not double the performance but more like 20%.
welllll results are in the oneplus 3t is faster than the iphone 7 plus sorry guys won the test for opening apps and also the one for opening aps from ram. iphone is a disgrace.
2:02 Well the HTC 10 was the first to do it at the start of this year not apple.
love you're interview and in depth looks and review.
my oneplus 3 arrived on the day the 3t got announced..... ;-; fml
Laurens Klaassen return it
Laurens Klaassen i was waiting for the 3 since it was sold out but good thing the 3t came out
Laurens Klaassen same here, only i bought mine for 500 dollars since they were sold out on their website
Richard Thai nah, Im fine with the 3, also I don't want to wait another 3+ weeks for it to arrive ;P
Laurens Klaassen Me too.... Fml...
Some of these features are built into Android at this point like the call blocking. I've got a Pixel XL running Android 7.1 and I'm able to block numbers in the built-in dialer app. There wasn't much detail when Linus mentioned more control over battery saver features but the Battery saver and Battery optimization are also built into stock Android although I'm not sure how long that's been present along with the call blocking.
you know what else is shockingly easy to hold and 5.5"...... a banana
Nice B-roll, Brandon! The closeup of the rear of the phone was especially nice.
Dual SIM but no SD card?
Nope. Just nope.
the only thing that pisses me off :)
*****
Manual backups? Who the fuck affords to do this shit on data anyway?
That is a very good point though.
I'm a random wind storm. Shaky Shaky. No one from Eastern Europe can afford this, because "fuck justice"
0:37 that smile, and i subscribed.
I wish they made a 5 inch model with the same specs.
i recently got a oneplus 3 for my birthday. ive always liked oneplus since oneplus 1. i love it. by far my favorite smartphone. ill probably always stick with oneplus now.
as for the oneplus 3t. its meh. the only thing that would have been useful for me is the battery. i dont care about the upgraded storage (im sitting at 8 gbs out of the 52 available gbs. i dont think i'd ever use more than 32 gbs on a smartphone in my lifetime) and the camera, cause i dont take pictures that often, definitely not selfies. the very slightly higher processor is nothing really.
It's called OnePlus 3Tea in the U.K.
Had my 3 for a few months now and I love it. Will be upgrading to this because I have someone already wanting to buy mine and i want that 128GB storage.
Ad block didn't work on this video.
Use Ublock Origin, ad block gets paid to let ads go through now.
gm92845 I think he was maybe implying that the video seems very "OnePlus-ad-disguised-as-a-review"?
Nah, I had a grammarly advert, but it seems that no ads show up ( i was using AdBlock)
Thank you for mentioning the 5 column grid missed feature! I literally need this on every phone!
4:05 Linus doesn't wanna show all that cash he earns!
They nailed it like always. The only thing I would change would be making the body a little thicker, possibly making it so it could have expandable storage or an even bigger battery, so that there would be no camera bump. I hate camera bumps.
LG V20 Review. Please. Do it.
I own this phone, and personally I love it. Super smooth and snappy, and it look gorgeous.
Only thing, I live in Australia and it's not available officially here! Which means band 24 (the most used 4g band here) isn't available so I often have to switch to 3g to get signal. Though I knew this when buying this phone, so despite the nuisance I'm not too disappointed, though it would be nice if it had been added to the T.
watching in on my OnePlus 3
Still confidently the most comfortable 5.5 inches he's ever held
that Android wear thing is pretty old
have been using since a year with my oneplus2
And you can even set noiseless mode through the watch! Best feature. Just pull down from the top and select noiseless - perfect in the morning. :)
It's also works on Galaxy s5 since forever on my moto360 as well!
best intro ever. if this is the first of the new writers, great job hiring them!
edit: watching from my oneplus 3, did not know about double click to launch camera. was worth watching again.
edit 2: monk plus worth it. gave mine away, will get second pair. good usb mic monitors.
I wanna be that guy who points out the editing error at 8:13. #literallyunwatchable
Damn… watching on an OnePlus 3…
Jason Yu Me too, but so what? Doesn't make the original any less awesome, the differences are really minor. +10℅ speed and +13% battery, not really that big of a deal, especially when you need to pay 10℅ more (or +20℅ for the 128GB model).
I think the original is still slightly more bang for the buck, but I wouldn't mind having double the storage though. :D
It was great to watch you guys do a review of a phone without a skin on it. Can see what the phone actually looks like! I get the sponsor part, but perhaps for future phone reviews just include a few shots of what the phone actually looks like.
Server videos!
Tech for life Mmhm yes please
that intro was actually pretty good, i loved it
I remember when OnePlus phones used to actually be cheaper than flagships...
Still is...
i really like you way of looking into things and the way you do your PC related researches... Can you do a comparison video on external GPU for laptop via PCI-E slot, compare it with PC and see its limitations like how much FPS lost due to bandwidth shortage for modern GPU's ... please
Oh bum I just got the Oneplus 3 :/
Tryte Just return it then.
Tryte keep it there is no reason for you to wait unless you want a better selfie camera or 128gb of storage
Zsomer Grotesque Selfie camera is already brilliant, as is the battery and performance so after watching this video, I'm not too fussed about missing out on it. However if I'd have held off then I would've gotten the T.
The biggest problem about one plud
I love the silent mode. Can enable it for let say 45min when i go for lunch or make it go on every time when i have something in calendar (have a lecture).
but but... they cannot count anymore :(
There is nothing different dumbass
No there moving from addition to algebra, one + 3T = 0.
AntimatePcCustom Its actually now 1 + 3^T. So differentiate this and it comes out 3. Ughhh I'm such a nerd
TheUnknownSoldier So T = -(1/3)?
Oneplus 3 is the phone I have.. And I was butt hurt about the 3T for a while.. But because the phones are so similar and I know the software is coming here as well... I'm genuinely feeling better! Oneplus have become a brilliant company with drastic improvements.
FINALLY, Unlisted Squad, Check-In!
hey
i think it was listed
If you had to ask, then you aren't in the squad.
I'm watch this on an oneplus 3 and for me personally the opposing volume down and power are great because it's so easy to take screenshots, and while I never had problems only pressing one button I did find it hard to press two non opposing buttons on other phones
1:40 no its not new, at least 8 months old
X E N N I M wtf I'm talking about the feature
He meant the symbol on his watch, listen more carefully.
$5 earbuds that don't suck?! I spent $5 on some back-up pieces of crap. Now shut up and take my money!
Those earbuds have been outselling everything here in Asian countries for quite some time now
can get £3 earphones here and work fine
*****
work fine = good enough ,such as the £3 ones i got from morrisons
I'm watching this on $3 earbuds that don't suck, get on my level
But can they compete with the $5 Monoprice iems?
I can see how 4K on a phone screen would be overkill, but as a smartphone photographer, 1440p is nice for setting manual focus. 1440p also adds a ton of detail in TH-cam videos that stream at higher resolutions, such as this one.
Sit through your video my ass. I found out the answer by going to 6:45.
Take that Linus.
Nupid You're ignorant if you believe everybody has the same standard of performance requirements.
Nupid well flagship phones usually have more premium stuff but also something to remember that these phones the company backs as their flagship also gets faster updates
Unlike theirs other models
Motorola is pretty good with that with at phones but others aren't so much
That is also something to consider
Obviously mid range phones also have their flagship phones
That is where you have to give up some premiums for other stuff
It all preference at the end of the day
But you are right. People do buy more than they can use
$400 is not bad for a flagship quality 5.5" smartphone...
When did he say it's bad?
Jason Philipson no. iPhone 7 destroys everything right now in geek bench and pretty much every other test.
Might want to mention that one+ 3T doesn't work with AT&T and Verizon (at least in the US). Thumbs up this comment for others to see it I suppose.
How do you know that it doesn't work with AT&T and Verizon in the US?
he's Canadian so he doesn't give a fuck
it does work with att... are you stoned or something?
I was just about to buy one before I read that in the specs
It doesn't have support for CDMA networks which is what Verizon and AT&T use in the US
I just got my oneplus 3..
I guess you could use that as a pro, thinking you have a Beats by Dre bright red charging cord... lol

reply to the comment with OnePlus 3t
I hate you Linus! You put up awesome reviews I have to watch so I don't sleep.
By the way have you finished the asoiaf series yet? I am so pumped for the tv show to be back despite knowing what is gonna happen
iiSlothz its 8 minutes bro
Still no reason to upgrade from One.
Ubeogesh I know the feeling I was one of the first to receive the oneplus one
Same, and I still dont really feel the need to upgrade. I think i'll wait it out until the op4
Still no reason to upgrade from my battered and bruised Nexus 5.
Awesome to hear both your review on the 3 and 3t, can't wait to hear how things turn out for you on the 5.
Also, the 3t is officially discontinued now.

Well, on TH-cam at least.
Jack Henrie they're* ;)
John 117 Halo 9 it's not same.
Love your videos Linus! Just ordered mine
Massdrop is a scam the shipping is outrageous
OPSynergy how does it take too long? Or poorly packaged?
Massdrop works fine
Von Wicked hmm I'm thinking of buying from them although I found some pretty good deals on there
Massdrop has pretty poor international rates.
Sir Church yeah, Massdrop is great unless you need to ship international. If you do, it'll gouge you. Try shipping forwarding services.
I enjoy your videos Linus, big up from Jamaica
iBuyShit
I got one the other day. Incredibly happy with it!
Were any of the ibuypower products good?
Thanks Linus cleared all my doubts... You r the best
