The injector issue was more the wiring/old style of injector than the side feed itself. The 95+ TT fixed that and I believe the 93+ NA fixed it with an update. In the Z32 world it’s just called the early style and late style injectors. They have adaptor kits for the early style cars.
@@JDM_PLUS my Z had late style injectors since it was a 95. Piston #6 had a chip in it and looked like it overheated. Not sure if it was injector failure or something else.
@@Zi.Zenior cyl # 5 and 6 tend to be the ones to get low compression. Probably in part of the coolant passages needed to be de-burred as you mention. Looking forward to the build!
one of the first things I did to my 90 NA, old styles were not cutting it XD
@@Squishygod777 I bet it made a huge difference
“you’re saving 200 pounds” “turn the boost up” damn straight 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Josh-zf1ev why save 200 pounds when you can add 3? 😏
This is the best video I’ve ever seen in my life
@@joyharris0417 in your whole life???
Change the idler pulley studs when doing the timing belt. Stock ones tend to break once you add more power.
Also, once you do the first plenum pull, delete all the coolant lines under the plenum as well as the egr and redo the pcv. Next time you do a plenum pull for servicing, it will take you 15min and makes it far simpler.
They're amazing cars once you understand them. Sure they could be expensive but it's a high performance car. Any car that needs a twin plate or triple plate clutch to put down 700+whp is gonna be expensive.
At least you can chip the ECU or run a nistune. A buddy of mine has a 2JZ and he has to get a stand alone just to be able to tune his car with is $$$.
@@davidtaing6045 all of these are fantastic tips. I’ll be covering some of these in the build series. I did end up splurging and getting a haltech
As a Z32 owner, This is one of there better Tips on TH-cam. Thanks to bringing knowledge to the public.
Thank you for watching. My next video will be coming next week. I hope to bring more quality content about the platform so new and old owners can feel good about owning this amazing car.
This video is awesome and super informative
@@carciergeservices4545 I’m glad to hear that. I’m trying to find the balance between informative and entertaining.
This is pretty cool and great advice!
Hey! Thank you for watching it. I’m excited to make more
Great video production, great info, great charisma. Earned you a new sub, badass channel !
@@Clarenred thank you so much! I’m very grateful 🥹
Saw your post on Reddit. Formats are key. Awesome video. Will finish watching tonight (because me Honda fan) cool stuff man.
@@defnu thank you for watching! I love Hondas too. I had a B18C swapped EG that I used to autocross and a manual swapped 99TL with a 3.5
@@Zi.Zenior I can’t wait to get my hands on a J series anything. I haven’t done anything track related.
@@defnu when I did my swap on the TL, the engine was $350 and the transmission was $600 rebuilt from Acura. Those were the golden days
Great tips for anyone in the 300zx market!
Glad you think so!
You also need to watch out for Engine cowl panel over the battery, they are usually broken or missing completely and that needs to the battery tray being very very rusty. also watch out for misaligned front nose panel, as the usually means the car was jacked up using the wrong crossmember in the front. and the only way to fix it you beat the member back down or replace it, which is very very difficult. FYI liked the vid.
Great tips! I appreciate you sharing this with us. My cowl is broken and i’m considering getting an aftermarket CF one. I don’t know why people break them, it’s just two screws.
Love my Z ,
@@themacgyverinstitute5340 I can’t wait to drive mine again. It was by far the most fun I’ve ever had in a car.
The point of having a slick top is this there were only 2648 ever made over the full term of production i have one of aprox 15 in the country they dont Rattle or Leak they are more Ridged in the Body the Slick Top is also a lighter car ideal for the Track over the T Tops.
But most of all the Z32 Slick Top Twin Turbos are rare, prices on the Z32 Generation Vehicles are skyrocketing especially the Slick Top as they are now the Version everyone wants because of their rareity!
The Z32's are now Legendry Classic Car Collector Vehicle's & the best Fairlady Zs of the entire Bunch!
Z32 Slick Top TTs are now sort after as only 2649 were produced making them harder and harder to find in OEM mint condition Values may never be even close as the Z32s Brother the Skyline GTR but the Slick Top version will be up there.
@@LanceLouez-sv4kk I love you my slicktop brother.
You can't see the sky when you look up, but that's ok, we still accept you.
@@ttopsnturbos Thank you always nice to be accepted!
Lmfao not a bag of chips 😂We trading food for cars now I need to tap in!
The seller responded after I shot this video. He asked what kind of chips I would throw in.
Very good quality video but the thumbnail will ruin your views, try making better eye-catching thumbnails.
About the z, I also don't get it why people want a slick top. T tops are one the best features on these cars.
Thanks for the feedback and for the views. Do you have specific tips for improving the thumbnail I used? Btw. The t top is the best part
You should've done compression check with your mechanic or yourself. As a ZTT owner since 2009 I can tell you if you cannot do most of the work yourself z32 aint for you. These cars command porsche maintenance cost. I had to learn to work on ny Z to keep it running as a poor guy. Now I'm not poor but I still do all work myself. Waiting for turbos to blow up before I pull the motor. Amazingly my 93 has been reliable with 177k miles and everything works including ac. With all mods added over the years it gets alot of attention when taken out for a ride. Mostly it is a garage queen now
@@Pennychaser1 the car was in another state. That’s why I had a mechanic do it.
Also stick with 1992's 300zx's
Why 1992 specifically?
@@Zi.Zenior in my personal opinion, it’s the best of the earlier introduction models 1990-1992 for enthusiasts. There are some sensor problems that I never encountered but for an enthusiast stand point any of the 1990-1992 models are the ones to get.
@@maxbeard1939 I am partial to the 93-95 for the simple fact that they have electronic hicas vs. hydraulic. I do agree with you about avoiding the 89/90 models in general, they had some issues from the factory that Nissan fixed in later years.
GAH…so dirty of that mechanic (and maybe seller?) if they for real hid it.
It’s hard to pinpoint who is at fault here. Ultimately, it’s buyer beware so it falls on me. I’m making the best out of it by starting this TH-cam channel. Hopefully I can help other people learn from my mistake.
@@Zi.Zenior fair enough! I edited my comment to throw the shade less lol
3000GT put that in there. Also 300z6 with VG30 TT AINT cheap or easy to fine in good shape
@@psingone you’re right about that! Ask me how I know 😂
"Fairly easy thing to fix" *shows $600 gaskets for top glass. Even the cheap options are still 300 or so and they are crap!
@@jamayajackson5256 I said easy, not cheap 😂
