    "Objective diagnoses must ALWAYS precede responsible treatment"! A young lady travels from L.A., California to see Dr. Nick for answers about her anterior open bite. Her famous "TMJ specialist" back in L.A. was getting ready to enter "Phase 2" treatment and crown and veneer most every tooth in her head to match, "...a relaxed muscular condition.", without any regard for the status of her TMJ's. Turns out her TMJ's were damaged long ago as a child as the patient and Dr. Nick discover together after she passed through Dr. Nick's Neural Occlusion Screening (NOS) protocols which included MRI's and CBCT's of her TMJ's, Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA), EMG and T-Scan objective metrics. Not one dentist, orthodontist, or "TMJ specialist" she had seen in sunny CA even came close to understanding her condition...until she met Dr. Nick. To learn more:

    This seemed more like a bash-fest of the previous professional who were trying to help her, than actually getting to the point of what treatment she is receiving now.

      @@sgzb69 hey brother, thanks for asking my friend. I have hanging in there man, I currently am wearing braces to help with my jaw pain and fix my bite. I think little by little it is getting better. It’s been rough for a long time and I’m thankful for at least some progress.

      @@loganmosburg3479 honestly dude, get various opinions. People guess and guess but only a few people know how the joints actually work with the positioning and all that. orthodontists don’t know much about it so I found some TMJ specialists who were more knowledgable. It’s one of the complex parts of the body. I wear braces because my bite is really bad and I’m seeing a specialist at the same time who gave me a stabilization appliance so that I have a flat surface to bite down on. You’ll be fine man! What are your symptoms? Headaches, fullness of ear?

      @@pbnpepe4481 Have you had tinnitus as part of the TMJ disfunction or as part of the orthodontic treatment? I'm halfway into getting braces, and the little change they have done so far has given me tinnitus. So I really don't know if I want to go forward. I can live with TMD (though it sucks) but this tinnitus is driving me crazy.

    The solution guys is to try to expand top jaw a tiny bit and the bottom jaw more (especially straightening if the teeth are so crooked that it creates more problems) while doing tmj exercises every day and taking lots of anti-inflammatories and getting plenty of protein

    • @mowthpeece1
      @mowthpeece1 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had improvement with additional protein, but that "lots of anti-inflammatories" thing can be problematic. They cause problems of their own. But perhaps Tylenol could work.

    I've been complaining about my bite changing since 2017 after a filling went slightly wrong and I complained my bite felt 'off', they said 'you'll get used to it'
    I complained at the follow-up, and every appointment after that that my bite felt 'off'
    They just kept saying its fine.
    Now fast foreword to 2021, My teeth have shifted and clicked which was agony, I got a crazy amount of craze lines, I can't chew anything, I'm on a smoothie and porridge and scrambled egg only diet, I've lost over 10kg, I'm waiting for a hospital referral, I started clenching my teeth and I can't talk.
    Yeesh.
