That's why Renee nearly collapses with relief when Sophie agrees to go with the Nanny. The little girl could have given up the entire thing right in front of the detectives right there.
I love how they have these little mini-dramas--in this case, the wife catching the alcoholic husband with booze--that have nothing to do with the actual story.
I'm almost certain every crime show has something like this. You need a realistic scenario on how a body is discovered instead of starting every episode with them just getting a call.
That's how each episode starts. Someone is going about their routine, a jogger, janitors cleaning, someone taking out the trash, comes across the body, crime scene is sealed off, the investigation starts. That's basically how it goes.
They tried to make it a custody case, but it's ultimately still a murder case. One mother using an unjust legal loophole does not allow the other to murder her.
I want to see the whole episode to understand now. If the moms weren't cool then why was she there in the first place? Why was one mom at a hotel? Who pushed her to her death? Etc. Ugh. I want to know. Lol.
According to TVMaze, that's the correct broadcast Season & episode. Your streaming service (or however you're watching it) must have the incorrect order.
“She could not possibly have jumped because she wouldn’t have cleared the lower balcony..She had help….She was pushed” So what you’re saying is that she could not have jumped that far so someone must have pushed her. She could not have jumped that far…so somebody must have pushed her. The world record long jump is 29 feet. I wonder what the world record for throwing a 120-pound person is? I never understood false convictions quite as well as I do now, after watching this. Somebody needs to invent a dumb police / prosecutors’ theories award.
In the context of cop dramas and medical examiner slang, "Jump" specifically refers to suicide, whereas "Fall" implies accident and "Push/Throw" means external force. Realistically, most suicide attempts don't actually long-jump for distance, they just get as high as they can and let gravity do the work. So to translate what the ME in this clip is saying would be along the lines of "If this was a suicide, she'd have just fallen straight down. Since she had enough momentum to clear the lower balcony, my guess is she was pushed."
@@mysteryninja354 Nice try but I can only push someone over a rooftop wall balcony rail or through a window and then have the momentum to add an additional few feet of horizontal travel. Them pushing themselves away from the building to minimize the chances of several non fatal conscious glancing blows at exponentially slower speeds on the way down is at least as likely. And that was a huge balcony she had to clear.
As was said by the earlier poster, it's not so much the muscle power so much as a case of horizontal momentum. To get that on a jump, you'd need a running start--but that's nearly impossible if you're jumping from a balcony, unless your goal is to leap over the railing like a turnstile for some reason. It's a lot easier to get horizontal momentum from a push.
2:54 Oh, she was calling Renee 'mommy' not asking for her. Smart writing.
I agree

just for classification sofie called Lisa mommy not Renee. the little girl was expecting Lisa when she was met with Renee

Seems like a lead in to me, after watching SVU for 15 years, I've only this such an example happen in this chapter of the Law and Order Universe.
It probably shows how their life wasn’t as perfect as they’re trying to make it look like
You think the sight of a dead body will straighten their lives?
R.I.P Jerry Orbach and now Richard Belzer from Law and Order SVU two major Law and Order detectives with a sense of humor and now in heaven.
The whole thing with the kid ended up just being heartbreaking😭😭😭
Started as a homicide and end as a custody case

Please tell me the grandmother gets to see the girl again. Please?
She does
I believe she ends up getting custody of the girl at the end of the episode, as one mother is dead and the other is going to jail.
let me guess...the "sister" did it.
The "sister" was her ex wife
