    Hey Folks! Please let me know in the comments what you thought of the deck tech and if you enjoyed the shorter, more precon upgrade like format. Also, let me know what commanders from Wilds of Eldraine you want to see me cover in future polls.

      Hello, im very new to MTG. I have only played a few games but am having an absolute blast playing with my friends. My favorite deck is the New Cappena Caboretti. I’m gonna give your upgrade a try!
      I was wondering. Do you take requests? I would LOVE a budget HP Lovecraft deck! I have seen some builds online but they are like $300+ and seem like they wouldn’t be fun to play casually with friends.
      Any and all help is appreciated! Keep up the great work!

    That you very much for this deck Build. I Build Saruman myself and here are some suggestions:
    - harmonic prodigy --> for double saruman triggers
    - beseech the queen --> it's cmc is always 6
    - Dig through time / treaasure cruise
    - soul's fire -->can be one hit kill
    - one of my favorite cards: bolt bend
    - Blasphemous act --> Army can survive this easily
    - curtains call

      @lancemoore2586 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would add in the new Roaming Throne to double triggers again, Strionic Resonator, etc. Also perfer Saheeli, Sublime Artificer for token generation as it is also a non-creature spell.

    Spell slinger token payoff is one of the best types of decks. This commander can be very fun to play. In my build I focused on playing spells that have built in cost reductions but still have high CMC like Frantic Search, Snap, Big Score, The Magic Mirror, Treasure Cruise, Dig Through Time and some free spells like Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship and Dead Rollick. An absolute MVP in the deck is Retribution of the Ancients. Hold up black mana and even if the orc army is targeted you can take down most of an opponents creatures by just dumping off counters.

      With a few cost reducers, I think Buyback cards like Capsize would be very handy to be able to grow his Army without "losing" resources.

    I'd love to see your thoughts on a deck using the Lord of the Nazgul,
    Your eldrazi tech really helped with building my one so thanks and keep up the great work 👍

    hey just a clarification, Arcane Bombardment allows the casting of sorceries on other players turns. As the ability resolves, since it does not give a restriction like "you may cast the copies until end of turn" the copies are all cast at the same time, ignoring timing restrictions.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct... I could have sworn that Arcane Bombardment was limited by timing but yeah, so long as it doesn't give a timing noted ("You may cast... This turn/until the next end step/etc.") it ignores all timing restrictions. That's my bad and thanks for letting me know. I'll add it to the description to avoid further confusion.

    A friend of mine wanted to play spellslingers since he got the new cappena grixis deck but couldn't get into the playstyle but after finding saruman capabilities to create such a massive lonely token that can be used to finish a game fits his playstyle so well. Thanks for the deck, it's the best base we can use for making the grixis deck my friend could enjoy.

    Solid build. I have been toying with this idea as well, I think I more favor ways to deal damage with the army such as Soul’s Fire and Foray of Orcs, as well as a couple more fling effects to push damage if the army gets targeted. This is obviously easier to manage if you run the Ozilith. Balmor and Ovika also seem good here to provide pump and trample on critical turns and another, distributed source of our Commander’s main effect. Ovika is certainly expensive, but this build has the rocks for it.

  • @danielmartin3739

    During the instant section I was getting worried about all the pips in the spells but you really did good with the mana rocks and land base to make sure we can cast them. This deck looks really fun and im going to have to build it and check it out. Great video and deck tech. The new format did hurt either. Nice and smooth.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback!
      And yeah, I was worried about the multi-pip spells during building too (Archmage's Charm and Cryptic Command's triple blue pips had me concerned for a while) but as it turns out, the mana rocks and lands in the build proved more than enough to compensate during testing, so it was all good!

    • @danielmartin3739
      @danielmartin3739 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GrazzetMTG How do you test your decks? Between building, scripts and making the videos, do you have time to play all these decks? Also, what’s your personal favorite deck to play from your own collection?

    I was thinking about a Grixis artifact storm build with Blood Funnel, Ashnod's Altar, and similar to put the army token to great use

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a really cool idea! Taking Saruman in a more aristocrats / storm focused direction and using the army be creates as a replenish-able body for us to sac for value seems like it would be a very good way to build him. I may have to test that out!

  • @Magnusovich
    @Magnusovich ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Neat deck tech, although I fear the colour pip cost for some of the spells in the list (e.g. Archmage's Charm or Cryptic Command) might be difficult to hit, although perhaps the artifacts and untapped duals are enough to support them. Was there no consideration for Path of Ancestry in the mana base? There are a handful of Wizards in the deck which could add some extra value with the Scry 1.
    I am a fan of the new video format, pairing cards with similar themes as opposed to strictly by mana value. It's helpful to see all the token makers in close proximity to each other, for example, rather than seeing them dotted around the mana curve.
    Glad to see we will be moving to WOE soon. I got two Eriette's in my prerelease kit and prize backs, so it looks like Maro is sending me a clear message and I will be casting my vote for her in this weeks poll.
    As for future polls, I can see a showdown between Rowan and Will being an easy option. Otherwise, perhaps a poll between Bernard and the new Korvold if they fall within the budget threshold for commanders?
    P.S. In the MDFC Instants section I think it would have been beneficial to swap back from their land backsides to their spell frontsides when you were discussing their effects.

      Shoot - with Arcane Bombardment and the significant number of Charm spells, this deck is pretty much a Swiss Army Knife deck when it comes to dealing with all sorts of things on the board.

  • @bruvaroni

    Been using this commander for a minute now. Win the game with Chandra's Ignition or Thousand-Year Storm usually. Deck gets kinda crazy as you go up in budget. Beseech the mirror enables you to combo off by itself most of the time. Kinda crazy

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can see a gigantic Chandra's Ignition's easily ending the game once our orc army reaches critical mass and, like Arcane Bombardment, Thousand-Year Storm is a decent way for us to get additional mileage out of all our spells (thought it doesn't cast the spells it copies, so it doesn't trigger any of our cast triggers when it does so).
      And yeah, Beseech the Mirror is fantastic here. Sac our army to bargain, tutor and cast any CMC 4 or less spell from our deck, and amass at least a 5/5 orc army when we do so or just use it as regualr tutor if we need to? Seems good.

    Amazing deck as always!
    Tom Bombadil is next, along with Alela, huh! They sure are the BOMB, hehe. Anyways, now as for which witch I prefer... Agatha, the Gruul one. Why? You'll see. Let her cook.
    Day 752 of waiting for the face reveal... I wonder if we have something for 15k.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a reference to the 1970's animated version of The Lord of the Rings - which they did since they thought Saruman and Sauron sounded to similar - which I had to look up, but is an interesting bit of trivia none less!
      Glad you enjoyed the build and for voting as usual - and yes, we will be doing something for 15k subs, so look forward to that coming soon.

    small question for all, is Mizzium Skin a okay protection card ?

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its not a bad protection spell, since it does give us the option to either protect a single creature or our entire board from targeting depending on whether we overload it or not. In this build through, if you want to have a card like this, I would recommend Lazotep Plating since it protects all our permanents, not just creatures, and tacks on amass 1 to make our orc army bigger (and makes it into a zombie orc Army to benefit instantly from Dreadhorde Invasion when it comes down).
      Hope that helps!

    Nice deck tech. Should be easier to make it truly a precon upgrade because this is a back-upcommander from lotr? The only comment that i have about this precon format is when you do breakdown/ game stats should put just the cards name soviewers can see the cards at what gategory correspond.

    • @GrazzetMTG
      @GrazzetMTG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the feedback. I'll be working on the layout for these shorter format video's with my editor and was already thinking of adding categories to make the sections clearer (since we won't be needing the CMC's of the spells anymore) - so its good to hear folks are suggesting that as well.
