Dude, I was in 4th grade and remember I went to the arcade right after school and played this game so much, I was obsessed. I also remember that someone stole my pencil case which was full of awesome pencils that had. I was devastated after I found I was robbed.
Never played as Nick Fury as a kid so didn't realize the game subtly changes some elements to better reflect his character as opposed to The Punisher. That's an unusual level of attention to detail for a game of this era and genre.
There are actually two ending sequences for this game. 1. If you start a game and beat it without using any continues, you get the credits rolling as the enemies start appearing from right to left. It is possible to get this sequence if two players beat the game, but they must start the game at the same time, and NEITHER one of them can use any continues; otherwise, you get the other credits sequence. 2. If a player DOES use continues, OR, if another player joins the game after you started it (the player who joined later will have their score end in "1" rather than "0" if that happens), you get another credits sequence where Punisher and Fury are shooting their pistols to reveal the credits while taking cover from their enemies' explosions.
I agree with you. Almost every Marvel character had a costume change, but we can't deny that when we were kids we knew certain characters wearing certain outfits. When I knew the Punisher, he was wearing the same outfit he wore in the CPS1 game, and he also had the same hairdo; but many of my friends' kids who managed to watch the 2004 Punisher movie (the one starred by Thomas Jane) grew knowing the Punisher wearing his compression shirt with the signature skull-motif, and a modern hairstyle. Times change, and so do the characters' concepts on every franchise.
Games developers are really missing a trick by not releasing classic arcade coin-ops on today's latest consoles. No upgrading, just EXACTLY like the arcade original. They'd make a fortune.
@@LeonReplacingChris I mean make them available EXACTLY as they were in the arcade release. No titivating or interfering or giving in to temptation to do some 'PS5/PC boost' to graphics that would ultimately change the way it looked from the traditional arcade original.
@@winningjubbly9712 Oh yeah, I agree. I think the MvC collection did a good job porting this game, but I don't like how you basically have infinite lives.
Technically, they are two different characters. Marvel recently revealed that the Samuel L. Jackson version is the son of the original Nick Fury (in the 616 universe).
@@Rocket1377the mcu one is based on the ultimate version who is just nick fury. Not nick fury junior. Nick Jr didn’t exist yet. So yea, they are the same version of the character
What the hell is Nick Fury saying when he does his special attack with his whip/belt? 🤨🤔 When I was a kid and playing this on my Sega Genesis, I ALWAYS thought he was saying: "GRANDMAAA!!" 🧓🧓🧑🦳 🤷🏻♂️
@@michaelpf08 I am just saying that its much more challenging when you don't rely on bombs. Take as an example the boss in the train. The player took half of his health using granades, there is no challenge in that. It's not interesting to watch. You have to fight your way through. That is the real deal. It took me hours of playing to reach a level where i can finish the game without using any granades. Believe me, its pretty hard.
Nick Fury is so badass he has an infinite cigar the entire game
A tip : you can watch series on flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Francis Casey Definitely, I have been watching on Flixzone} for years myself :)

Why in the movie he became a black guy?
at level 3, there is a person in a red hat, strangle him, there is a secret, all enemies will die 😂
Nick KO'ing the first boss in the afterfight cutscene is such a surprise if you're used to Frank just capping him in the face.

I'm sorry to hear about that.
😂
@@Wyndamn it was a long time ago and after a lot of therapy I came to realize that the thief needed the pencil case more than me 🤣
So you became a rage-filled one-man army against crime?
That wasn't robbery. It was theft.
Anyways, I also played this game in grade 4 and finished it.

Which elements are those?
One difference is that Nick Fury only knocked Scully unconscious instead of killing him with his gun.

Played this game at the arcade's until 1999. OORAH!!!
33:03 Freaking priceless. It breaks my heart that kids today know Nick Fury only as a non-smoking black guy.
hahahaha no doubt
Not only that black Fury is pretty much every teen hero's babysister.
Well Marvel comics decide to change his race you know for Ultimate Marvel comics

I think Nick Fury is better than Punisher here due to his long ranged better special kick
That kick my bro!
The Publisher deals more damage than Nick Fury through
Damn, this Nick Fury would beat Ultron ALONE!
He looks too young as well

Nick Fury and the Agents of SHIELD should have had their own arcade game

David Hasselhoff and Samuel L. Jackson
