I always ate these foods growing up. Abc's would make fun of me for being too chinese for liking these foods but now that we're college aged I see the same abc's eating these foods because all of a sudden its cool now to be in touch with your culture.
you really can't blame Chinese Americans when they are really young, like pre -teen or Teen. At those age, children just wants to be socially accepted , to have friends. At those ages, maintaining cultural heritage is probably low on their list of priorities. Unless the parents support or expose the children to the culture, they won't even know about it.
As a person who lives in Beijing. I must say that last dish made by beans in TianJin section is not what Chinese people called Douzhi(豆汁), it is indeed Doufunao(豆腐脑). Douzhi(豆汁) is a traditional Beijing drinks which made also by beans but tastes totally different from Doufunao. I hope one day you guys can try that in Beijing(after this damn special time ), trust me, you will see how special the Douzhi is.
"i'm going to go with the red bean" "that's good because i want the black sesame" "I know that" the brotherly bond omg. for real though, you know you love your siblings when you give them the food they like
Hey Fung Bro’s please feature more northern Chinese food~ Shan Dong has sooooo much foods, and tian Jin takes their good really seriously. So please feature more northern food. Thank you!
This is an amazing video. I love your presentation style. The food is what stays in focus. You cover a lot a food in a short amount of time. I love how you hold the dishes up to the camera and break them apart so we can see the texture and individual ingredients.
How HOW are you eating that much in one sitting? Even just 1-2 of each item is enough for my entire breakfast. You went through like...6 meals, and that was just for Taiwan. A fantuan alone is filling af. I haven't even finished watching and I already feel full watching you eat
This was such a great video - I loved seeing all of the different breakfast foods that I have never seen before! And it was nice to see some familiar ones too (my family is from Tianjin)!
Yoooo this video has to be one of your best so far! Great details on the different regions of China. And the crazy thing is you can get this all at the 626!
Imagine having so many breakfast stalls within 2 minutes walking distance from your house, where you can pick up food for less than a dollar. Bet you wouldn't be skipping breakfast.
I keep it simple with a youtiao and hot sweet soy milk. Yo, but if I had all those varieties of breakfast items available to me nearby, I'd be having something different every day or at least once a week. I thought your last video on Thai food was the best so far, well this one out did that one! Oh, and I'm also down with the fatty bits, crunchy or chewy. Well done!
The camera work was smooth this time & less stylized 👏 keeping it simple & steady with the lens. I like how you went right into the food & showcased it.
As a Chinese residing in the US when I watched the European pastry parts of the Guangzhou and Hong Kong section I was surprised by realizing that there's a lot of breads which I previously classified as American food, cannot generally be found in the US except in Chinatown, and are all Cantonese speciality. Although till now I would still not call them Cantonese food but instead call them creole food, to distinguish them from genuine Cantonese food such _cheung-fan._ Please don't misunderstand me I don't mean they're bad, those creole Cantonese food are actually popular all-over China but people simply don't know they're part of Chinese cuisine. You should probably add Fuzhou-style _guobian_ to your list. You can find pretty good ones in Brooklyn (although not so good in Manhattan Little Fookchow). Adding some seafood into it, really nice breakfast. This is something that you probably cannot find anywhere in China or US except in Fuzhou and New York. So definitely worth a try. By the way, please don't call _doufu nao_ "douzhi". Douzhi is something _holy_ different! It is a _God_ in the most oldschool Beijing breakfast which most Chinese (include most modern Beijingers that are not "authentic" enough) can never accept, so I really don't recommend anyone to try it at the first time, espcially don't ask for _douzhi_ when you want _doufu nao_ - the seller would be super-surprised hearing that (and maybe confirm "are you sure").
I love that you guys have been bringing attention to China's regional foods. Something I've noticed in some of your videos is that the restaurants you guys go to are not always mentioned, links aren't consistently provided or when you guys do provide links, they're not in the order in which you guys showcase them. Perfect example would be the Wuhan segment is within the 18 minute mark but it's second on your link list. I hope you guys can fix this so that we can also experience the foods that are featured. Much respect!
First breakfast in Taiwan was a simple, yet ever so perfectly crisp Youtiao with a bowl of thick and rich Soybean, perfect for dipping. Im still smiling thinking about it.
If you guys are looking for ideas on your next video, I would highly suggest trying out the different Indian cuisines (eg. North Indian, South Indian, Bengali, Mumbai street food etc..) There is a lot of delicious food out there waiting for your reviews.
can you guys please list the establishments you order from in the comments or details section? especially right now, when local restaurants can use the exposure and business. thanks!
Some of the baked goods at 5 minutes in are from Little Swan due to where they are at. Some of it is also from the bakery across from Garage Restaurant (not Momo, which is next to it). The dim sum is from the restaurant right next to where they are sitting in the Big 5 plaza, Top Island. At 10 min, the soups are from Delicious Food Corner. At 16 min, they told you its from Garage Kitchen, even after they moved to the park. I do not know where the stuff from 18:50 is at though.
That is not douzhi. U don’t want that man. It’s a Beijing “delicacy”. It’s dank. It’s smelly and sour. What u had is called doufunao. Tofu brain. Different thing. I love that shit. Also. Ur northern accent is on point
That Taiwanese flatbread tastes great when it just comes off the oven and with only scrambled egg as filling hits the spot each time. No need for bacon or ham. But when its super cold and really hungry, the breakfast roll is enough to last you till lunch time.
I clicked the video to see jianbing. It’s at 15:25. By the way, the dish before that is tang you bing (糖油饼) I feel I have seen you guys doing wrong Chinese subtitles a few times
Great video ! This is to show how diverse the chinese community is in your area. In my country we get mostly guang dong influences since most of the original chinese are from these parts (hakka).
you guys are great at presenting the different breakfast foods, you should put a warning as a disclaimer...warning ....watching our videos may make you gain weight. as well as being completely satisfied. I wish you both good heatlh and prosperity.Keep the videos coming.
Yooo 6 minutes into the video, they have already shown so much food items and the video is 23 minutes long. I am just curious at this point.
holy shit. Fung Bros pinned my comment. thank you, made my day seriously. i am religious viewer lol.
The show is so much better when they don't try too hard.
@@ksingh1208 They did it with me a few times :)

I'm new to these guys and they are truly growing on me! I love their brotherhood so much and they're so smart.

Well to be honest my family is superrrrr obsessed Chinese food and I haven’t even eaten half of these

Hey Fung Bros any chance you can do breakfast in NYC? Love to get your input on where to go to get the best!!
I think you guys should also include Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia breakfasts which are two noticeably different styles.
I love your videos- keep it up!!!
I feel like this is a substitute to my cravings of Chinese food in general 😂😂
This was such a complete compilation 👍
Every time you film the food showcase I just want it! I live in a chinese Breakfast desert 😕. But I love your segments. How do you eat so much?
