So I happened to be at Chao Krung Thai the night this was filmed. I have been to all 3 of these Thai restaurants but Chao Krung is our 'go to'. I will say this about Anajek....it is hugely popular due to Social Media....but I cannot emphasize more that I thought it was a rip off! They stage it (Hollywood style) like you are having a Thai street food experience (including the owners mother hawking t-shirts table side) but they hit you with a ridiculously high bill. Thai food (especially street food) should be reasonable....this was a money grab! Luv2eat Thai is definitely a solid Thai restaurant in L.A....the huge menu is great when you aren't sure what you are in the mood for. L.A. has soooo many Thai options...thanks to Rockstar Eater for getting the word out!

I used to go to Chao Krung all the time when I was younger and lived in the neighborhood. I haven’t been since they remodeled about 9-10 years ago. Glad you’re highlighting the restaurant. It’s one of the oldest if not the oldest Thai restaurant in L.A. They used to have an awesome lunch buffet that had a good variety of food and was a good price. Definitely have to go back and try it.

Dude Steve. I'm Thai and watched this at almost 11pm last night and my mouth was drooling. Definitely not for the budget eater, but those meals looked great, especially the Moo Ping. You must have had a ton of leftovers!!

I have this place near me does that thing where they take the chicjen leg and redo it with stuffed crab, and cheese and spices and diced veg then batter it Thai style and deep fry it. Hit it with chili sauce....its like a crab Rangoon but like a chicken leg and it's got chicken in it. The chicken goes great with the crab..its wild.

Great job Steve. This is one of your best videos and everyone loves Thai food, including me. All three eateries look awesome...but I think the one that sold me is CHAO KRUNG; best overall in terms of dishes; chef vibe; and value. Keep up the good work !!! 🍜🍛🍲🥡

When you eat green papaya salad, you use the cabbage leaves to pick up the salad and eat it. Like a mini lettuce wrap.

thai/laos food ain't really all that in america. I felt like they are really missing the authentic taste of thai/laos. it's more cater to the white people palate. them papaya salad look so bland. you mind as well eat a regular salad. To eat true papaya salad. You need that Laos Funk fermented dark(padek, shrimp and crab paste) sauce. there's very few dishes that is good but most are hit and miss in every restaurants that I went to. The basic thai/laos dishes should be mastered authentically just like in their homeland.

The food looks great, but I don't need to drive 230 miles to get great Thai food. All I need to do is walk into the kitchen and my wife, who is Thai, can cook anything on that menu and it will be absolutely delicious. For me, there's no need to go to Thai restaurants. As for the prices, they're beyond ridiculous.

Had to stop watching at the jade noodle. Using stick with papaya salad but then using fork and spoon with noodles. It’s other way around
Thai dining etiquette is mostly spoon and fork. Chopsticks are for Chinese style or ramen soup/noodles.
Ever wonder why you’re given a set of spoons and forks and not chopsticks at the majority of Thai restaurants?
Don’t let my name and profile photo fool you. I’m more Thai than you think. It just bugs me when I see “fahlung” using chopsticks for every Thai dish from fried rice to Tom yum to pad-Kra-pao-moo-sup
If it’s not a noodle dish in a bowl… stop using chopsticks.
Sorry rant… I think it’s time to introduce Thai and other Asian etiquettes for dining.
Don’t get me started on a table where someome oreeee the whole steamed fish and takes it for themselves.
